I was in a bad, bad situation. I had completely forgotten about that business professional outfit for tomorrow’s meeting. So here I am practically rummaging through my wardrobe looking for a proper outfit. Its 11 already and I should have been in bed by now catching up on my beauty sleep that I desperately need so that I do not look like a zombie tomorrow, but no here I am being as unorganized as I could ever be. I need to look presentable enough for tomorrow, I can’t mess it up. Ugh, this is the worse. WAIT WAIT WAIT…

Yesssss, I found it. This will have to do for tomorrow.

After searching for what felt like an entire 24 hours, I finally found it. I’ll just iron this and go to sleep. I am so relieved my god.

Time for my beauty sleep, I love my beauty sleep. No Netflix today. You have a big meeting tomorrow. You cannot f^ck this up.

I love giving myself some motivation.

My morning routine went by a flash, quite smooth if I am being honest. I surprisingly woke up on time, on my first alarm. Managed to make myself look presentable. I do not really spend much time on my appearance on a daily basis but today was different. I made myself a good breakfast and it was not ONLY coffee. Gathered my stuff up. Took one last look at myself on the mirror and I was good to go.

I reached my office 10 minutes earlier and decided to go through the ideas I came up with. Looks pretty solid to me.

What if they decide on giving me a raise if I do well in this project? Oh my god, I hadn’t thought about that. I definitely will have to do my best. And I definitely need the money.

It was finally time for the meeting.

I was walking towards the meeting room and that’s when I saw him. The CEO of Ledger Groups…ZAYDEN GAGE LEDGER. Even his name screamed power. This man was surely not to be messed with. He was dressed sharply in an all-black suit. It was probably worth all of my salary. Still looking gorgeous if I may say so. I had only seen him in pictures on all those magazine covers and tabloids but seeing him up-close, in person was so different. How can someone look this perfect? Even his hair, not a single strand was out of place, his hair was slicked back that gave him this effortlessly dangerous look. I don’t know but saying that his hair was the perfect shade of black won’t be an exaggeration because it surely looked like that. Just one look at this man and you could tell that god took his time making him. He definitely was god’s favorite.

What the hell is wrong with me? Having these kinds of thoughts about a man? Praising his looks? Ugghh, NO.

I have never ever had these kinds of thoughts for any men. But again, I had never ever met this man.

Ugh concentrate Audrey, he’s currently your boss in a sense so just concentrate on what’s important. This meeting, that’s all.  Go in there give them your best.

“May I come in?” I ask with a knock on the door.

“Please do Audrey.” Mr. Morgan smiles at me kindly.

Mr. Morgan, as the name suggests, is the owner of our publishing house. He is a very kind hearted 60-year-old man and I have a huge amount of respect for him. We are on really good terms and he adores me.

“Good morning, everyone.” I smile and greet everybody present in the room.

Everyone greets me in return except for him. From the moment I entered his eyes have been glued to his phone. Not once did he look up nor did he acknowledge my presence. What else could I expect from a rich snob?

Umm hello sir, I am the one designing your magazine, show some respect.

He stands up once everyone was ready for the meeting to begin, that’s when I noticed how tall he actually was. I have never been insecure about my height honestly but standing next to him would definitely give me an inferiority complex.

He looks up and scans the room, acknowledging everyone. Not that he smiled though. But still, I judged too quickly. He has this powerful yet mysterious aura around him. It’s pretty obvious how he made such a big deal out of his name. He has a dominating presence. His presence demands respect.

I was so into admiring his presence that I did not even notice Mr. Morgan stand up. I really need to get a grip on myself and my oh-so-disturbing thoughts.

Mr. Morgan is currently in a conversation with Mr. Ledger, after which Mr. Morgan speaks up… “Good morning, everyone, we are here to discuss the new project we have with the Ledger Groups. We have been given the responsibility of publishing a magazine for their company.” With that he settles down and the man sitting beside Mr. Ledger stands up, I am assuming he is the personal assistant…

“I am the personal assistant of Mr. Ledger and I’ll be presenting you all the details related to our company. Kindly take notes if needed.”

The meeting surprisingly wasn’t that long. We only gathered all the information and details needed, also discussed some requirements and based on all that we are supposed to preset them some ideas which will be finalized in the next meeting I suppose.

Mr. Ledger stood up, greeted Mr. Morgan and walked out of the meeting room along with his team. On his way out, he looked towards me for a split second and our eyes locked. It was only for a second, maybe even less than that but felt like minutes to me. I was admiring his presence, his stature but his eyes are something else. They looked at me for only a second and it left such an impact. His eyes are a shade of blue, icy blue. They are a perfect contrast to his jade black hair.

I got a text from Kimberly and when I looked towards her, she instantly raised her brows at me…the text said “Intimidated by Big bad Ledger here? Or attracted?” I simply rolled my eyes at her and gathered my stuff to leave.

While walking towards my office I noticed Ledger and his team standing at the hallway. They should have left by now. I moved a little to have a better view of what was going on and I saw Jose, standing there, in front of Ledger with his head down.

Wait…is Jose getting yelled at? By Ledger? Oh, hell no!!! Not on my watch…
