chapter 3

Falling, that was the last thing Jimin remembered as he drifted back into conciousness.

He groaned rubbing his eyes as he sat up. He'd had the craziest dream. No, not a dream, dreams were happy, dreams were pleasant, dreams were places you went to escape reality. Jimin had had a nightmare. An evil, twisted nightmare.

A nightmare where he'd killed himself, finally escaping from his demons in life. But this nightmare had taken a dark twist, instead of dying Jimin had been in a coma. Trapped between life and death with a monster.

Jimin shuddered at the thought of the man from his nightmare. His Raven black hair making his already porcelain skin seem almost translucent. His dark eyes, the way they had pierced into Jimin's brown eyes. If Jimin never saw the man again it would still be too soon.

Opening his eyes, Jimin met darkness. It wasn't abnormal for the boy to wake up before the sun came out. In fact, the past few months it was all Jimin did. Wake up before the sun, and spend the next few hours in a "trance". Lost in his thoughts as he tried to fall back asleep.

Looking around his dark room. The boy contemplated whether or not to even bother trying to get back to sleep. Feeling around his nightstand, Jimin searched for his phone.

His hand grazing over knickknacks he couldn't really put a name to without having a light on them, until finally he felt his phone. Grabbing it, he turned on the light squinting at the bright display.

4:47 A.M

"****" Jimin muttered pressing the power off button and throwing the phone to bottom of his bed. Jimin woke up at 6 am for school everyday, so there really was no point in doing anything but starting the day.

Walking out of his room and into the bathroom down the hall. Jimin kept the light off as he relieved his bladder, his head was pounding and if he could avoid bright light even if just for a bit longer... Then he would.

Drying his hands, Jimin knew he was going to need some aspirin. Without it he'd surely be in the nurses office before lunchtime.

Is probably all the crying he'd done the past few days... Well weeks really, and headaches hadn't been uncommon for him. But this headache was by far the worst one he'd ever had.

Jimin tried to think back to yesterday, trying to piece together why his head hurt so bad. Maybe he'd forgotten to drink water to substitute for the loss of hydration from crying? But his mind came up blank. Everything was just... Fuzzy.

Opening the medicine cabinet. Jimin grabbed the bottle of apsirin and made his way to kitchen. The first thing he noticed when he walked in was the coffee pot hadn't started yet.

Jimin's father as long as he could remember, would wake up at dawn to have his morning coffee. Even after he'd switched jobs and changed hours, he continued waking up early saying it was "habitual".

Walking over to the coffee maker, Jimin contemplated whether to start it or leave it be. Ultimately deciding he'd start it just in case. Opening the cupboard catty-cornered to the machine, Jimin grabbed a glass and filled it with tap water.

Shutting off the faucet and opening the aspirin, Jimin poured two of the pills into his palm. Swallowing them and taking a few sips of water.

"Those won't help you"

Jimin's body whipped around, eyes going wide in a mix of fear and shock as they landed on the person who'd spoken.

"No" Jimin whispered shaking his head, tears beginning to form.

"No!" Jimin said louder this time.

"You need to calm down" Min Yoongi said flatly.

His face was expressionless, arms crossed over his chest as he leaned against the doorway leading into the kitchen, his posture was relaxed. Especially for a situation like this. Giving the boy an almost "bored" look.

Everything came back to Jimin. The events of the day before.. or however long ago it'd all happened returned. Jimin remembered taking the pills, he remembered his brother coming home just as he'd lost consciousness, Yoongi being in his room telling him he was dead... Jumping, no... Falling out the window.

Jimin wished it was a nightmare, he wanted nothing more-- other than for his mother to be back. Than for it to all be a nightmare, but this was real. There was no other explanation. No logical reason, as to why this man from before was here.

Everything that Yoongi had said... Made sense, yet at the same time it made no sense at all. Jimin didn't know what to say, he didn't know what to do.

The two boys stood there staring at each other, Park Jimin trying to find a reason why the man from his "dream" was here. Min Yoongi, was waiting for the boy in front of him to speak.

"W-hat... Are... Why a-are..." Jimin stumbled over his words, breaking the silence the two had been in.

"You know why I'm here Jimin" Yoongi said.

Jimin could only shake his head. He tried to open his mouth to speak, but nothing came out other than a sob.

Yoongi watched the boy in front of him crying. He felt bad for the boy, but Yoongi knew It was best to just stay silent.

Once Jimin had calmed down, well at slowed his crying... He spoke. His voice still quivering

"P-prove i-it"

Yoongi scoffed at Jimin shaking his head as he slowly took steps in the boys direction.

"Thats what you say? After all that crying I was sure you'd finally understood"

"S-stay away... From me!" Jimin backing up only to realize he was already leaning into the countertop. Jimin knew this kitchen like the back of his hand, and he knew that there was a butcher knife in the drawer to his left.

Not taking his eyes off the raven haired boy, Jimin's hand flew down to open the drawer. Pulling out the knjfe and poining the sharp tip in the young mans direction.

"I'm not going to hurt you" his voice cold as ice He stopped where he was though. He had a job to do, and it was not going to get done if he was unable to earn this boys trust.

"If I was here to hurt you, wouldn't I have done so by now?" He asked.

Jimin contemplated what Yoongi had said. He did have a point, there had been plenty of times he could've hurt, yet here he was unharmed.

"I'm... How do I..." Jimin still tried.

Yoongi rolled his eyes letting out an audible sigh.

"Cut yourself" Yoongi said.

Jimin furrowed his eyebrows shocked at what he'd just been told.

"W-what?" He asked almost thinking he'd misheard.

"Cut yourself, Jimin." Yoongi said annunciating his words this time.

Jimin just stared at the man in front of him. Why would he do that?

"Oh, c'mon it's not like you haven't before! Stop being coy and do it." Yoongi said squinting his eyes. Obviously taking another dig at Jimin.

Jimin gripped the knife tighter. His knuckles began turning white around the black base.

"No" Jimin said shaking his head. He looked down at the knife in his hand, he didn't know why Yoongi wanted him to do so, but he wouldn't give in.

"Do it, Jimin." Yoongi said urging the boy to self harm.

"I. Said. No!" Jimin said looking up at Yoongi.

"Just do it for God's sake! If you want to see that I am not lying to you, then cut yourself!" Yoongi replied.

His facial expression barely changed from it's lazily bored expression, but his tone of voice suggested he was becoming impatient.

"Why!?" Jimin spit the word at Yoongi. Anger rising in his voice, Jimim's blood was boiling. He was done. With this conversation, and with the raven haired boy.

"Why do you want me to cut myself?! Why do continue making your little comment?? WHY WONT YOU LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE!?" Jimin screamed.

What happened next came in a blur, all of it happening in just a few split seconds. As Jimin shouted the last few words at Yoongi. His arm subconsciously rose. The knife in his hand rose, pointing up to the ceiling for just a second before it was thrown in Yoongi's direction.

Yoongi had just enough time to widen his eyes in surprise before the knife came flying at him. He didn't blink, he didn't breathe, he didn't move.

The sharp blade pierced his skin, driving itself deep into Yoongi's ribcage.

Yoongi looked down at the knife, deep breaths slowly coming out of his mouth as he looked up. Jimin stood frozen, his mouth forming an "o".

"I...I.." Jimin said, taking a step towards Yoongi. He hadn't meant to throw the knife. He really hadn't! It was an accident!

"I didn't think you had it in you" Yoongi said in between breaths. Looking back down at the knife.

"P-please... Oh god I-Im sorry! I... I just..." Jimin struggled to speak.

Fresh tears fell. What kind of a monster had he become. He'd never hurt anyone before, Jimin couldn't even recall raising his voice at anyone.

Yoongi ignored Jimin. Tightening his grip on the knife, he slowly began pulling the blade out. Yoongi squeezed his eyes shut as the pain seared through his upper stomach.

"****!" With all the strength the Raven haired boy could muster. He pulled the knife out, taking a deep breath as he held it up between himself and Jimin. Showing the crying boy the crimson coated blade.

"I... D-didnt think... You.. H-had it i-in... Y-you" Yoongi spoke between breaths as he collapsed to the tile floor. Deep shallow breaths poured out of his chapped pink lips.

Each inhale and exhale of air sent a new wave of pain through the boys upper torso, the only thing Yoongi could think to compare the feeling to was running in the wintertime, running out of breath and stopping to try and refill his depleted lungs but being met by only the cold frigid air. Burning his insides creating a sick torturous feeling. Like a million tiny needles piercing through his lungs. The feeling of needing to breathe, desperation trying to... But each time a new wave of pain replacing the last.

The only difference being was at least that winter day, Yoongi was eventually able to calm the feeling. Regain his oxygen supply enough to be okay. But this pain, it was almost unbearable, no matter how many breaths he took the pain stayed.

Yoongi was too lost in the pain to notice Jimin had gotten a damp cloth until he saw the fragile boy lifting us his shirt to place the cloth against where he thought the wound was.

Yoongi looked up at Jimin, red puffy eyes filling with fresh tears, tears that fell only a second later making their way down onto the boys pink cheeks. Yoongi wanted to wipe the tears away. To be frank. Yoongi never wanted to see this boy cry again, he was small, fragile. Like a piece of art that belonged in a museum in Seoul.

Jimin turned his eyes from the damp cloth soaking up Yoongis blood, to Yoongis eyes. Eyes that were on Jimin. Since Yoongi had shown up in his room, he'd looked at Jimin with either annoyance or boredom.

But turning his gaze up, Jimin saw neither in Yoongi's. He saw something softer, something he couldn't find the right word for.

As soon as he'd locked eyes with Yoongi though, his expression changed. Going from a softer look, to that scowl-ful look bordering on boredom.

"I... I'm s-sorry" Jimin whispered. He hadn't meant for his voice to come out so soft, but he also hadn't meant to stab Yoongi.

Yoongi who'd opted to close his eyes was focusing on his breathing, he knew the pain would end soon. He just needed to be patient.

"I... T-told... You... Too" he mumbled out.

"B-but! I r-really am! I didn't mean to, I just... I.. I"

Yoongi held up his hand to silence the boy, trying to keep talking to a minimum as to conserve as much of his oxygen as he could, and to be honest he hated hearing the boy repetitively apologize.

"I am though! I... I really-"

"Quiet!" Yoongi growled

"But-"

"QUIET!" Yoongi shouted causing himself to wince at the pain. But he knew it was almost over. Almost.

"J-just watch" Yoongi said pulling his shirt up and removing the cloth covered in blood.

Jimin looked down at the pale boy's torso. Where an inflamed red wound should have been. Leaking blood and swollen. There was only a scar, a scar that looked like it was healing right in front of the boys eyes.

The dark pink tear was turning lighter. Fast enough for Jimin to notice, but slow enough for the boy to question if he was truly seeing it heal.

The scar transformed itself into a mark until it altogether disapearred. A wound that should've taken months to heal. Not to mention scar, was gone.

Gone.

Completely nonexistent on Yoongi's porcelain skin.

"Do you believe me now?" Yoongi asked. Breaking the silence.

Jimin looked up at Yoongi, fear in his dark eyes. As much as Jimin wanted to believe that Yoongi was just lying, that all of this was a joke. He knew, Yoongi was telling the truth.

"You're in a coma, Jimin".
