Episode 1: The Beginning

The lights flicker off as he steps out of the apartment. he walks to the railing looking over the city and setting sun. cars and bikes fly through the air stopping only at the floating lights that flash red, green and yellow.

wishing he could have a flying model of a car he looks to his left towards the stairs and walks to his regular 4 wheel car to leave the apartment complex.  "Ping." he looks down at his phone as he starts the car to see a message from his professor.

  "Where are you i took the time out of my day to help a worthless student such as yourself just for some extra credit and you dare to make ME wait. Jacob if you arent here within the next 10 minutes you are failing this class!"

Jacob looks back up and doesn't dare text back. he puts the car in gear and speeds out onto the street. his tires screech as he speeds away.

I cant fail this class i have to get there now... ill be late if i keep up this speed.  he speeds up not caring about getting in trouble. he continues down the street in urgency and rounds the last street corner next to his university. as he does this a person walks out onto the cross walk.

Jacob slams on the breaks but the car screeches forward towards the person. "MOVE!!" he screams as yanks the wheel of the car and veers to the right in an attempt to avoid the guy. A crashing sound is heard as he burst through the railing and down into a lake. Jacob watches as his car tumbles down the hill into the water, breaking the  surface; the car jerks forward and he hits his head on the steering wheel. his vision blurs, he touches his forehead and feels a cold but warm sensation, he pulls his hand away to see blood. he looks around struggling to keep his eyes open. a sudden tiredness rushes over him. he watches as the water rises past the driver side window. he looks to the windshield and sees only darkness. water begins to pour through the Air conditioning vents and spills onto his feet. he feels around for something, anything that will break the glass so he can get out.

 He finds nothing but a notebook and his pen. water continues to fill the space, he unlatches his seat belt and starts banging on the window in hopes to break it. "Please... someone." he looks around in angst, the water now chest level and rising faster than before. He rubs his eyes and feels a sudden urge to close them and go to sleep.

 Jacob presses his face against the roof and breaths in and out, the water now almost filling the whole car. He takes one last breath and goes under knowing their isn't any more space left to get a breath.He continues to beat on the window until his lungs are about to burst.

  If only i had woken up on time i wouldn't of been speeding, All of this could of been avoided. i haven't done anything with my life, ive slept it away and played video games. not once did i have anyone close enough to call a friend. he thinks back to his childhood and about his parents. He thinks of how they will react when they hear that... that im dead.

the air inside of his lungs is now burning like fire. he cant hold it in anymore. he heaves a sigh and lets it out and the water invades his mouth and nose. he clutches at his throat in an attempt to hold back the water from surging into his throat and lungs.

He continues to struggle until he feels lightheaded and the water choking him, he falls back into his seat and looks at the blackness through his windshield as he feels his eyes heavier then they've ever been before slowly close. darkness, the only thing he sees; is now almost comforting. he lets his thoughts and feelings drift away into nothingness.
