The Queen’s Task

Nayan’s POV

After I got back to the dorm, I finished showering myself. Lay down on my blue soft bed. The night view from the window dorm is always beautiful. The full moon shines its light through the universe. The foliage movement starts after touched by air.

“I wish tomorrow will be my quiet day”, I whispered to the love pillow beside me, I close my lazy eyes slowly.

“Come to think of it. The excellent student is indeed so handsome that his face keeps appearing in my mind. And try to recall, none of the student ever see his face”, I stare out of the window, showing a questioning expression.

“Yeah… no one ever see him in person or even his pic. They just gossip everywhere how gorgeous he is”, I talk to myself again.

But, how about the books and bulletins in the library? Someone with big inquisitive must has gone there to check the same thing as I do. Never mind, maybe tomorrow his pic will be all over the board.

Then, I close the window. Get back to the bed and start sleeping. Sleeping time is heaven.

The Next Day (The Day of the Situation)

Author’s POV

The blue sky with bright sunlit accompanies Nayan all day after class. She has been walking for about twenty minutes, looking for the wall magazine in the third floor where she learned science today.

“Huh? There is actually no pic about him? I thought someone had search about him yesterday”. She frowns. After walked looking for wall magazine, she back to her class and change her direction towards the other building after her class finish, it’s already afternoon.

Now, she is playing her role as THE QUEEN.

“You just need to check some rooms and report it according to your standard. Because you are THE QUEEN, I think no one will ask about your decision as well as your suggestion. Feel free to ask me if you need anything”, Nayan recalls what the principle asked her.

“Sure, Sir. I will not disappoint you”. Nayan smiles and then go out from the office.

The orange sky in the afternoon is indeed the best view when sit alone from the window class. But today, Nayan cannot do that. She has a task to finish.

Although she has been busy, all in her mind is actually curiosity to find more about the excellent student. So, she plans to go back to the library after doing the building check.

The task from principle is actually a well arranged task to make some new rooms. Nayan is asked to determine what kind of room should be there and is it qualified?

She will do it on her own, but of course there are plenty of students volunteered their selves to help her. Because she prefer to be alone, she tells Nunu to watch the fans and don’t bother her.

The beautiful scenery from the building has tricked Nayan to postpone her duty about one hour. She actually falls for it. She sat beside the window. She came around 04.30 pm and now it’s already 05.30 pm. She just back to her sense after a leaf flies to her face because of the afternoon air.

“Let’s do it Nayan. You’ve got enough for today’s relaxation”, then she starts to do her task, entering rooms one by one.

“Okay, now it’s getting dark and there are only dim lamps here. What’s the principle thinking when he asked me to come here? Just where is the international architect? Am I really needed to do it?” She speaks again since she knows there is no one there. Of course this task is really not like a student to do. She actually can do this just by looking at the monitor system right?

“Even though I am THE QUEEN, this is like a labor job for student”, She seems irritated by her tittle, though in her heart she actually sometimes like to be called THE QUEEN.

“What a pain”, she walks towards the last room. It is located in the end of the building; although the room there is brightly colored as yellow, it has no lamp and got light just by the lamp of other room.

“This is getting sucked. I should have done it earlier if I know its condition is like this”, she rolled her eyes.

When she starts to write down her opinion, something on the room suddenly falls.

“PRACKK…” It sounds like a big frame falling from the wall. But she ignores it and does her task again. She moves her legs more entering the room.

Now she is in the corner of the room. She really deserves her title as a queen because she doesn't flinch in situations like this, but suddenly there is white smoke rising from outside the window. Aerosols also appear in the beam of the next room's lights.

"Gulp, what's wrong with me? Since when have I been timid? ", Nayan thought for a moment and finally decided to leave the room. She has a bad feeling.

"I'll just go home. It's not good for a girl to spend too much time outside ". Her intention to go home immediately replaced with anxiety. The door of the room suddenly closed with an ear-rattling sound.

Nayan dropped the stack of notes she was holding. Her hands shaking, she continues to pinch her left arm using the fingers of her right hand.

In fear that enveloped her because of the strange atmosphere at that time. She still had time to think whether it was actually just a kind of joke made by his fans. The yellow wall gradually turns gray.

"It seems something is wrong," she said in a voice full of fear.

She can't move. Her body has been trembling about ten minutes already. Her circulation system seems to be stop for now, she can't breathe. The air is like avoiding her on purpose; even the only light from other class become dimmer and dimmer. What exactly happen here?

She keeps distance herself from someone in front of her. She is stuck in the corner of the school building. The gray walls filled with dust change the atmosphere become creepier. She hates it

“Someone please help me........!!!!!” she is screaming from the heart.

"Hey, what is with that gloomy face of yours?" A man voice, it came from my front. She still can't see clearly his face, but she wonder "isn't he the one?"
