Peter
As soon as I unlocked my secretary, I asked the girls to continue with their work, went to my office, and waited for Jane to come to me.
Half an hour later, nothing, I unlocked her contact and she didn't say anything or go online.
"The game is over," I warned, and my guests left while I thought about what my secretary would do.
I knew her, I could lie to myself that I can't stand her, I could swear to everyone that I would never be with her, but I knew her like the back of my hand.
Why does the world have to be unfair? Maybe I'm paying for a sin I didn't commit. What wouldn't I give for all this to not exist?
When the alarm clock rang, I realized once again that I had spent the night thinking about my neighbor and the whole situation that surrounds us. I didn't come to any new conclusion except the same one, why can't I forgive her even though she is not to blame for being her father's daughter?
"Brother, are you okay?" my sister Sophia said as soon as I answered the phone. When she's worried like this, it only means one thing, she needs a ride.
"I'm fine, Sophia," I said as I got into my car, looked at the parking lot, and the mini cooper was no longer in the same place, "how about you, are you okay?"
"Yes, great. Can you give me a ride?" she asked, and I rolled my eyes.
"Alright, I'll be there in five minutes," I informed her and hung up the phone. It didn't take long before I was picking her up in front of the mansion, "did you spend the night alone?"
"No, brother, but my boyfriend left early," she said, pouting. I thought Dean was good for her, my sister is no longer the spoiled brat she used to be, "and you, how's Giane?"
"Why would I know how she's doing?" I asked, pretending to be confused, but I knew how she would be, furious.
"Peter, why live in the shadows of the past?" she asked, with the same speech as always.
"Do you know the whole truth?" I asked, and she denied it, "Then why did you become friends with her?"
"We didn't investigate further, but all we can do is move on. Anyway, it wasn't her behind the wheel. You can't make her suffer and suffer yourself," advised my sister. My princess Sophia was terrible at giving advice, but I was still grateful for the time we spent together, "give Giane a kiss from me."
"Are you kidding me, Sophia?" I asked, and she got out of the car laughing. My sister walked around and stopped at my window.
"Do you not see our brother, Paul?" she asked, "After the prejudice against his and Lili's age stopped, they're both so happy now. Do the same, brother, forget the past and live for the future, and we know that your future is with her."
Saying that, my beautiful sister walked away elegantly in her high heels. We raised her as a princess, after all, she was our parents' only daughter.
Now we have Julia, the redhead who came to change our lives and bring us together.
"Good morning, boss," Jane said excitedly as soon as I stepped out of the elevator. I love seeing the sparkle in her brown eyes, but I know the way she acts and now I realize I should fear whatever she's up to.
I ignore her, although I want to hug her, why does the shadow of what her father did cloud my judgment? After torturing her all morning, I ask her to schedule a lunch appointment for me and Stella. Yes, I disgust myself when I do this.
But it's the only way to keep Jane away, while at the same time, as much as I love her, I want to see her suffer. How contradictory is that?
"You should stop using me to make your secretary jealous," Stella said as we sat at a table in a restaurant owned by a friend of that devilish Jane. I just remembered what happened in this place.
"You could stop accepting," I said, and she just shrugged. She didn't know anything, she didn't know about what happened between Giane and me, in fact, nothing happened. When it was about to happen, I discovered all the shit.
"You'll see that one day I'll really stop accepting," she said, and I highly doubted it.
"Because why?" I inquired sarcastically. "Oh, because you enjoy sex and I'm not offering it anymore?"
"You're such a jerk, you know?" she said, laughing. But it was at that moment that I almost had a heart attack.
"My secretary was on some kind of date? What the hell is this?"
"I think someone is forgetting about you," Stella mocked next to me, and I wanted to shove the glass I was sipping wine from down my throat.
"I grabbed my phone and when I went to send her a message, I couldn't believe what I saw. My secretary had the audacity to block me? When I looked at Giane, she had a smug look on her face, waving me off with her hand."
"Oh, this is not going to go unpunished."
