Unmasked

"I wanna get out of here alive." I say in the most determinest way.

" Me too, I've been here long enough to know that this will kill you. After the purple drug some people die "Kami says to me "The next time they come they’ll come for You Liam, and probably to do one more test on you Lila" She tells us both. As soon as the masked doctors come in, I look to my left and right to signal them to be ready. It's about to go down.They take me and Lila to this courtyard to test out our powers, faking and hoping that I have none. I started running towards the door and got down to cover my ears from lilas screams. Seeing all those masked doctors drop dead to the ground from their eardrums being busted like a balloon, some heads even exploded like one of

those surprise emojis. Me and Lila both race back to our room to get Kami. Rushing and trying to go as fast as to break these chain cuffs off of her, we hear footsteps coming closer and closer, and with each step, they take each time that ceiling makes a dripping noise. Finally getting her out of the chains we try to race to the door and that one masked doctor is here. Hoping that there aren't many more masked doctors on their way, I tried to push them from in front of the doorway. Catching me and the masked freak off guard, Lila runs up and slaps their mask off. Watching the mask leave their face as it unveils who they truly are. Shocked by the reveal behind the mask doctors, realizing and wondered how I didn’t notice my own mom was the one torturing me and Lila. Kami tries to snap us out of our emotional shock. I can hear Kami yelling telling me to come on and to run, but the cold wintery tears running down my face tells me something else. Lila went back and forth with her asking mom why she did this to us. Why your own kids? Did she do something to dad too? Standing here in this underground now feels like I'm in a tsunami. All my emotions boiled up and my anger. I hear a voice telling me to let it go. Let it all go.

“Run!” I shout as if it’s my last breath. “I said get out… NOW!!”I yell.

Seeing them running out of the room and watching myself catch on fire as I let it all go. Flames fill up in every direction as I shout while crying.

Drip…Drip…Drip… I don't hear that dripping ceiling anymore. All around is a fire scene burning like it's been touched by satan. Everything and everyone that was in the room was gone, all gone.

Running out of the room in fear I meet up with the others plus mom.

“What is she doing here?”I ask them in a confuzzled way.

“ You need to explain yourself, right now”, Lila demands

Mom then hands us a rusted key, that looks like you can get at an antique store. I took the rough feeling key and put it in my pocket. We continue to run down the hallway destroying any obstacle that gets in ourway. They’re coming fast and Kami shouts out to us. We speed up trying to reach the door Lila once almost made it to; trying our hardest to just get our freedom back; something that they and mom stole from us.

“The elevator is just ahead!”Lila and kami shout with joy

Then suddenly her body drops on the cold cement floor that is now stained with her blood instead of whoever it was before her. More gunshots fire each

milliseconds waste looking shocked. Mom has been shot, but it’s no time for me to lose my cool.

“Drag her to the elevator”, I say nonchalantly

We get to the elevator and start jamming the button as if we were losing a game; finally, it dings. We rushed into the elevator a little too late; another one of us got shot, right here in the chest. My body drops to the ground hard and fast. Lila drags me into the elevator screaming and crying, while Kami is dragging mom into the elevator.

“ My pho-pho-phone, in my jacket pot-po-cket, get it….And-and- and call 9…1….1”. Mom says trying to save her breath

Kami reaches into mom's pocket, grabbing her phone. Shaking with the blood all over her hands,I know that face too well, I’ve been in that position. I look up at Lila who is holding the bloody hole that was made in my chest. I had never seen her look so petrified before, so I grabbed her hand and smiled at her…..

“Liam!!”I hear 0Lila Shout

“Liam!!”Kami shouts
