St Augustine Florida known for it's history and the lighthouse. Many tourists rides the tram around. That is not all it's known for the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind established in 1885.

Wednesday October 17 1990 as it's a typical afternoon as the last bell chimes. Then many students exits school for the day. Some heads back to the dorm and others goes to practice for athletics.

Cindy Progin a senior from Bradenton Florida decides to go walk to the Sports Corner. So she signed out of the school and walked to the Sports Corner. That is the last time that Cheryl Player had saw her.

When it becomes dinner time Cindy Progin hasn't returned to the dorm from Sports Corner. Concerned Cheryl Player notifies Barbara Hughes the dorm supervisor at Koger Hall that Cindy Progin hasn't returned to school from Sports Corner. So Barbara Hughes notifies security of the school.

The security guard asked Barbara Hughes and Cheryl Player when was the last time they saw Cindy Progin. Cheryl Player explains to the guard that she last seen Cindy Progin when she was signing out to go to Sports Corner. The security guard asked for the description of Cindy Progin. The St John's County Sheriff's department was notified by the security guard at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind that Cindy Progin the senior from Bradenton Florida hasn't returned to school from Sports Corner. Deputies from the St John's County Sheriff's department had went to the Sports Corner south of San Marco from the school. They went into the Sports Corner and talked to employees inside. But no one never saw Cindy Progin in the store. So Deputies theorized that Cindy Progin was kidnapped somewhere between the school and Sports Corner but they don't know when and where.

The next morning as Cindy Progin is still missing investigators had got the media for help in finding Cindy Progin the senior from Bradenton Florida. Following the news cast Detective Susan Alice from the St John's County Sheriff's department had gotten a call from a witness saying that he saw Cindy Progin getting into a camouflage truck use for hunting. When Detectives Susan Alice and Steve Wilcox had went to speak to the witness. The witness had recalled seeing A unknown female getting Cindy Progin into the camouflage truck but he couldn't make out the model of the truck. Then he gave Detectives the license plate number.

Detectives Susan Alice and Steve Wilcox had went back to the station got on the and computer. Susan Alice had typed in the license plate number that the witness had gave them. The license plate is registered to a 1986 Ford F150 pick up truck and it's definitely a camouflage truck that the witness had described! The truck is owned by Wayne Manning. Detective Steve Wilcox is familiar of Wayne Manning. He was expelled from the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind several years ago for possessing Marijuana.

Cindy Progin's family from Bradenton Florida had made the trip to St Augustine in looking for Cindy. Detectives had sat down with the family. They explained that the person who is responsible for the disappearance of Cindy Progin is Wayne Manning who was expelled from the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind several years ago for possession of Marijuana drives a camouflage truck 1986 Ford F150 pick up truck.

Detectives Susan Alice and Steve Wilcox had went back to the witness at his house. In no time the witness had identified the camouflage truck on San Marco south from the school. The manhunt is on for Wayne Manning and the unfamiliar female who took Cindy Progin from the location. Deputies don't know where they are at.

Two days since Cindy Progin has been missing. The press conference takes place at the Sheriff's department. Ms Progin is Pleading for help in finding her daughter Cindy Progin. After the news cast Detective Susan Alice gets a call from the manager at Western Steers knows who is this unfamiliar female. Her name is Tina Mellon and loves to be called Tuna and she works there. A Deputy had picked up Tuna from work and brought her to the station. Detective Susan Alice sits down with Tuna and asks her where is Cindy Progin. Tuna claims that she doesn't know nothing about Cindy Progin's disappearance. But Detective Susan Alice confronts Tuna that they had a witness saw her getting Cindy Progin into the camouflage pick up truck. But Tuna denies ever getting Cindy Progin into the camouflage pick up truck.

Once confronted Tuna changes her story. She admits being part of the abduction of Cindy Progin. Detective Susan Alice asks Tuna where is Cindy Progin where you and Wayne take her to. Tuna admits Wayne Manning and herself had took her to their mobile home in Elkton at the Mill Creek area. Next Detective Susan Alice asks Tuna what did they did with Cindy Progin when they got her to their mobile home. Tuna admits they took Cindy Progin to the back porch of their mobile home and Wayne did the dirty work. Detective Susan Alice asks what dirty work that Wayne did to Cindy Progin. Tuna adds revealing details to Detective Alice. Wayne put duct tape on her mouth to muffle her then grabbed the rope tied her wrists together threw the rope on the rafter of the closed in back porch and hung her there. Next Detective Alice asks Tuna what else then Wayne did to Cindy Progin. Tuna adds more chilling details to Detective Alice Wayne stripped Cindy's clothes off and raped her. Then another revealing details that Tuna provides to Detective Alice Wayne threw chemicals on Cindy Progin and stung her with a stung gun. Then Tuna admits Wayne had ordered her to video tape the whole thing. Detective Alice asks Tuna is Cindy Progin still alive or dead. Tuna admits that Cindy is dead. Detective Alice asks Tuna where they did to Cindy Progin's body. Tuna admits Wayne loaded Cindy's body in the back of the truck he didn't tell her where he is taking her body to and she was ordered to stay behind and clean up the crime scene and burn her clothes. Detective Alice asks Tuna is Wayne Manning working and where. Tuna tells Detective Alice that Wayne works at the Wood crafting shop called Woodland.

Deputies had picked up Wayne Manning and brought him to the station. Then investigators had got a warrant to search the mobile home. Once there investigators had found damning evidence on the back porch. Then they collected everything that Tuna had provided and took them to the lab. Next they sprayed the back porch with luminal and shined the ultra light. Wayne had ordered tuna to clean up the crime scene. But it didn't work it lit up like Christmas lights. There is blood on the back porch. Investigators had towed the camouflage truck and took it to the garage. While searching the truck investigators had found more revealing clues that Tuna had provided.

Detectives Susan Alice and Steve Wilcox had confronted Wayne Manning of everything that Tuna had provided. Detective Susan Alice asks Wayne Manning where is Cindy Progin's body where did he disposed her body. Wayne admits that he threw her in the creek. Detective Susan Alice asks Wayne where did he threw her body in the creek at. Wayne admits two miles from their mobile home. Detective Steve Wilcox asks Wayne if he is willing to take them to where he disposed Cindy Progin's body at.

Wayne had took investigators to where he disposed Cindy Progin's body at. Then investigators had called the forensics team.

forensics had came to the creek and found Cindy Progin's body 50 yards down stream. They bagged up her body and took it to the morgue. After three days Cindy Progin was found dead in the creek.

Detectives Susan Alice and Steve Wilcox had to inform Ms Progin that Cindy was found dead floating in the creek. Ms Progin broke down from the horrify news. Now she has to bury her daughter.

Monday morning October 22 1990 Detectives Susan Alice and Steve Wilcox had went to the school to pass on the horrific news that Cindy Progin was found dead floating in the creek. Her friends broke down when they found out that she was murdered.

Prosecutors had charged Wayne Manning for capital murder. They're seeking the death penalty. Then investigators had watched the horrific video of Cindy Progin was stripped raped and tortured on the back porch of their mobile home.

During the autopsy details matches of what Tuna had provided to detectives. Then Tuna has been charged for kidnapping and murder.

Cindy Progin's body was released and shipped to Massachusetts where she came from. She had been buried in the family cemetery in Massachusetts.

Cindy Progin's memorial service has took place at the school in the music building. Detectives Susan Alice and Steve Wilcox had attended the memorial service at the school at the music building.

October 5 1992 Wayne Manning goes on trial almost two years since Cindy Progin was kidnapped and murdered. When prosecutors played the video that Tuna had been ordered to make. Cindy Progin's family were horrified of what they saw on video tape. They had attended the trial every day. On October 15 1992 Wayne Manning was found guilty of kidnapping and capital murder of Cindy Progin two years ago.

The sentencing hearing Ms Progin had a statement to Wayne Manning as she blurts it in her angry voice. Cindy never had a chance to graduate I had to get her diploma she wanted to be a mommy wife and a day care worker you Evil monster you took that away from her I want to watch the state killl you with poison and she sniffles at the end! October 20 1992 Ms Progin's wish came through Wayne Manning was sentenced to death.

November 9 1992 Tuna goes on trial. A week later she was convicted for the accessory of murder of the fact she was sentenced to 25 years.

February 12 2008 Wayne Manning was executed by lethal ejection. He had his last meal before his death sentence was carried out spaghetti with meet sauce and garlic bread. Cindy Progin's family and friends had attended the execution.

Tuna had found the lord and changed her life. She was released from prison. Tuna had learned not to date the wrong man despite Wayne Manning has already been executed!
