Bridgette grabbed the necklace and yanked it with all her might, but it wouldn't budge. She took a pair of cutters from the tool cabinet and attempted to gut the chain, but the cutters were bent, and the chain was still intact with no dent.

I give up. I just can't seem to get rid of this necklace. Perhaps I should've listened to the shopkeeper. Poor Sophia, I wonder what might have happened to her.
Bridgette huddled on her bed and placed the bent cutters on the nightstand. She cupped her hands around her face and sighed into them. She was about to take a nap when she heard glass crashing on the floor and slurred yells.

Right I almost forgot about this nonsense. Ugh...
Bridgette peered through the door gap and saw her mother yelling and fighting with her father. Of course, her mother was always fighting and abusive for no apparent reason.
Mother
Why the **** did you even switch off the T.V?
Father
I'm asking you something and can you for God fucking sake not put the volume so high? Anastasia has sleeping issues because of you!
Mother
Well I don't care! Why don't you just put her in the hands of my sister? You loved her more than me didn't you!
Father
For the last time, I never loved your sister like that. This is the problem with you! You tend to assume everything before knowing anything. How are we to have a normal conversation if you fucking act like this all the time?
Mother
Alright since everything is my fault anyway then I'll just leave!
The door slammed shut with a loud bang, leaving only the sounds of sizzling in the kitchen and the ticking of the clock. Bridgette cautiously stepped outside and looked at Anastasia's father, who was almost visibly enraged. She knew he was kicking himself for marrying her because of his parents.
Father
Anastasia, baby you can come out now. She's gone. She won't hurt you for now.
Anastasia(Bridgette)
Dad...... Don't be angry about her. You deserve so much better than that woman.
Father
........ You've grown up Anna. I'm sorry I couldn't give you a good family.
Anastasia(Bridgette)
Does it matter? You gave all that you could and trust me that's more than enough. I guess I'm sad that we don't have a proper family, but I can't cry about that because... you have been the best father a girl could get.
Bridgette couldn't help but feel emotional when she heard this man in front of her say such things to her, whether it was because she missed her own father or because of Anastasia's own emotions. Anastasia's father had only served as a plot device in the novel, but she couldn't deny it any longer. He was just as alive as she was.

Anastasia...... Whatever happens, just know that I will always love you. Whoever you choose to love, who you choose to be or what your second gender is I'll always support you. I just need you to remember that daddy is always here. Alright?

Bending on his knees he hugged Bridgette. Bridgette found solace in the faint scent of cologne. The man reminded her of her father. Always ready to defend his daughter and always supportive in any situation.

Dad let's go out today. Forget about her and her antics. Let's have dinner in a classy restaurant and probably some ice cream later on.

You're right let's go out! And yes let's have some ice cream. 3 scoops on chocolate cover cones.
