Another Nightmare

I had my childhood best friend, Celeste, who always played with me since I was a kid. We were like twins, playing together, smiling together, and going to the kindergarten and elementary school together. But the fate was mysterious, Celes and her parents left this town because of her father's work. The time when I was apart from my twin-like best friend Celes was at my age of 12. Even though we were away from each other, I had still contact with Celes, but not everyday.

But there was someone who stayed beside me in my early teenager. Her name was Hae, a big sister to me, and 4 years older than me. Hae and her parents lived in front of my house and I visited her house frequently . So basically, she was the only one who supported me and knew my life. I was happy when I played or talked with her. I visited her house so many time. Her friendly hug and sister talks really made me relaxed and cheerful.

Time flied over us, years and years changed. I turned into a beautiful 16 year-old girl with a fair complexion and long hair. Despite of my good appearance, I still had cold emotional face. Some friends told me that changing the cold face was better for me. But I didnt want to change. It was my style of 6 years, my way of staying strong. Only few closest girls knew that there was a soft heart which was covered by a emotionless face.

One sunday morning, with the pleasant weather, my morning was also perfect. Later, I got a phone call from sis Hae.

Hae: "Sissy, do u want to go shopping with me?" She asked me sweetly.

Me: " Yes, Hae I gonna change clothes now. Lets go shopping", I replied happily.

     We went to the biggest supermarket in our town. We looked around the various shops and then bought the clothes, cosmatics and school accessories. After that, we went into the cafe to eat cakes. But I never thought that one step into the cafe was the beginning of my another nightmare.

     There, inside the cafe, a couple was sitting. I clearly recognized that that man was my beloved father talking happily with pretty lady. I could tell that they were not just friends because i felt the chemisty between them. That lady bewitched my dad, dad was also smiling sweetly like sugarcane. Lovey-dovey of course.

     I was crying and leaving the cafe, instead of shouting at dad or slapping at that woman. I was running with tears on my face, unexpected of this situation. My admired dad, who was my ideal person, was cheating on mom and mom didn't know about it. I felt ashamed. Many thoughts floated in my mind.

What would happen when mom knew about it? She won't forgive dad. And what about the family?

     I ran and ran down the street until my breathe became short and my body felt tired. Hae followed me and she tried to comfort me. Few minutes later, we went back to Hae's house. Later, I could calm down abit but still sobbing.

"Dear, Calm down first. Lets think the better way." Hae said me kindly.

"I don't know what to do, Hae. Which is better,  tell dad to stop or tell mom about it?"

"Do you want your mom know about it, Ro?"

"No, I don't. Mom will be sad and mad if she knows about it. She might divorce him."

"Then Ro, I think it is better if you hide it for awhile. Focus on your final exam. Exam is in next month, isn't it?"

" Yes, Hae. " I replied with a sigh.

     However, my mind was still heavy.

Since that day, I tried to avoid dad, who was busy with his works. I was also busy studying for the exam. Besides, I helped mom and spending more time with mom and Jonh.  Everything was okay because I hid what I had seen....
