One year later
*Alarm clock blares*
Peeking through one of her eyes seeing the clock reading '5:30 a.m.' she groans and rolls out of bed hitting the ground with a hard thud groaning more. Wiping the sleep from hers eyes knowing she got less than two hours of sleep she slowly shuffles through her dresser for school clothes letting her alarm clock ring away to keep her awake with its constant beeps, and hopefully wake her brother just on the other side of the wall. All the while the mumbling to herself.
"Last time I do a late night instance... The way I feel now was it really worth the loot drops?..." after thinking for a moment "Yes, yes it was.."
She found herself crawling into bed around '3 AM' that night because of the overseas servers were doing double loot drops for instances bosses. Stretching herself in attempt to wake up further she hears a long deep sigh outside of her room door before the hard knocks echo through.
"Lisa, turn it off! For the love of God!"
He knocks harder, clearly not a morning person
"I'm up, so shut it off before you wake the entire house up!"
Already knowing their mother already left for work, and their father passed away the year before. It was just them... She often wondered if their mom blamed her for the loss of her husband. Since the accident their mom busied herself with work leaving early coming home late. It obviously wasn't the same after the accident, she became colder every month.
It was her younger brother Jon. Looking at the clock again as it turns '5:42' walking over to her desk, finally turning off the alarm. Reaching beyond the clock to toss open her curtains in a dramatic fashion bathing her room in the early morning light that peeked through the branches and leaves.
Letting the light shine on her piles of D&D manuscripts, natural home remedies and herbs books she memorized to heart, and her dirty clothes scattered around her room. Her pale blue walls shown between her traditional sword sets, Death Note, Destiny 2, and various gaming posters that covered most of her walls. Light shining off her games and movie cases that lined her two bookcases leaving no room for her actual books. Her comic and manga stacked in boxes, splitting at their corners. Her closet was full of awards and trophies and lost memories of the person she once was.
Covering her eyes forgetting how much the morning sun hurts her night owl eyes, as she does every morning. Stumbling back nearly tripping over a pile of random assortments of stuff consisting of dirty clothes, and foam swords for larp.
Saving herself in an awkward dance to regain her balance, turns around to look for her shoes and book bag to finish getting ready for school. Finding Jon, her brother, standing 5'11" blocking her doorway partially dressed for the school day. His wool-like hair cut into a short mohawk, facial features resembling their father, almond-shaped eyes leading to his slim nose, and sitting below his lips curled into an amused smirk, tell tell sign that he saw her fopa, everything held together with his strong jawline. His shirt across his shoulder, body armor clinging tight to his muscles gained from football practice and lifting weights. Thinking 'If this were a video game he would be classified as a knight or tank.' His amusement soon replaced with a look of worried sympathy, knowing after the car accident a year ago that nearly cost her life. Her whole being has changed from outgoing and active to a shut in who's only activity was running raids on dungeons. Looking around her room that was once clean to a place not even a pig would roll around in.
*kicking her shoes*
"You know, if you'd keep your room clean you'd have space for ALL of your stuff."
Pointing down to her school bag and shoes he had just kicked.
She looked up at him from the pile of clothes "I was looking for those! I'll clean up my room on the weekend, I have nothing raid wise planned that day."
He rolled his eyes knowing it was a lie, she was gonna get home and just sit in front of her pc doing raids all weekend. "If I didn't have a game this Friday I'd make sure you stuck to what you said. Now hurry up, we have to leave for the bus soon." he said backing of her doorway to go to the kitchen.
Stumbling out of her room with a limp to the bathroom for the morning routine, she looked into the mirror to see how worse for wear she was. Looking at herself to see her almond shaped eyes staring back as she examined the bags under her eyes, the tell tell signs of sleeplessness nights. Pushing her black natural curls out of her face she slowly looked over her face, acne of a girl in puberty speckled her cheeks and forehead like a paint brush was flipped in her face. Her rounded nose greasy because she skipped showering yesterday caught up in video games, her lips cracked and dry from her constant licking.
"I need to do better for myself..." she said quietly to herself thinking about the 'person' she left in the closet. Turing to catch up on her hygiene before entering 'polite society.' Already facing torment from the other students she didn't want to give them more ammunition to use.
