Episode 4

Summer holidays started. Who doesn’t like summer vacations? Holidays were always fun with mom. As mom had business to take care, she invited me to stay with her. I agreed. Mom is a determined woman, she is very pretty and an awesome singer. She gave me birth at a very young age and hence she was still young. Wherever we’d go people would say that we were sisters. The fun fact is that I am taller than my mom.

I and my mom enjoyed the summer together, though she had work she always managed to make time for me. We would travel to many places and make fun of few people who’d work with my mom. It was always like this. Well rest assured the one thing which creeped into my mind without my knowledge was a name of a person, Ryan. It was interesting how I could find at least one person with the name Ryan. This made me think a lot about Ryan.

During my time in the school I didn’t talk to Ryan much, but I’d see him every day and every time, and a lot of people around talked more about him. From what I observed and what others told he was a very good boy, very much caring, he wanted to be a ‘neurologist’, and he was very cute with kids. He was also a very good friend and an awesome person. I wouldn’t say he was very handsome but he was cute in a way.

So as I met so many people with his name, it made me think about him very much. Soon enough me and mom returned to home. When I came to home I came to know that Ryan’s birthday was nearing. Ryan and Lucy were neighbours. So I thought I’d go to Lucy’s house and prepare a gift. Ryan invited me to his house before his birthday, so I couldn’t just ignore it. On his birthday I went to Lucy’s house, Ryan came to Lucy’s house to play, I met him and I wished him and he went out to play. I and Lucy thought of making a card and buy a few gifts for him.

We spent the whole day searching for gifts and making the card. Knowingly or unknowingly we both only talked about him, discussing his likes and dislikes, even Lucy’s mother was talking about Ryan’s favourites… Finally after a whole day’s hard work we completed our work and packed our gift. We went to Ryan’s house, everyone were already in his home we were late but they had not yet started though. After a few minutes cake was bought. Lucy was very excited to taste the cake because it was an ice cream cake, she stared taking pictures of the cake as soon as it was set on the table. Ryan cut the cake and distributed it by himself. It was rare to see a boy to do such things, well what else can you expect from such a good boy right? I still remember how the cake tasted. Lucy was seriously disappointed, because the base of the cake was cinnamon bread. Just imagine a sweet ice cream on top of a cinnamon spicy cake. Well what could we have done, we surely did struggle to complete the cake piece in our plates.

After the party we asked Ryan to come out and open the gift in front of us. I thought he’d have a bright smile on his face, but it was not quite so. He just opened it and read what was written inside the card saw the gift and with a light smile on his face said “thank you, guys.” After that we took a few selfies and I returned to my home.

Mom was in home, I showed her the photos we took, and she told me that, “He looks like a chocolate boy, cute and innocent.” Wow that was unexpected is what I thought. After refreshing I went to sleep listening to songs. One of my favourite songs. Suddenly I thought about Ryan, he actually looked cute that day, he had a thick chain around his neck which made him look more like an idiot which made him a little more cute, thinking this I felt something which I never had experienced, I felt the feeling which my friends would call butterfly flying feeling when you think about the person you like…

Would that mean that I liked Ryan, that was impossible right?
