With darkness surrounded I'm walking through a forest. The moon shines bright, being the reason for me to recognize the trees' silhouettes. It's quiet and very peaceful here. The only sound that can be heard are my feet meeting the ground as I walk. Sometimes the crack of a branch bursting as I step onto it echoes through the dark forest. I don't know where I am, but I keep on walking in the unknown abyss of the forest.
After some time I hear a noise behind me. I turn around but all I can see are the silhouettes of trees and grass vanishing in the darkness.
fl
Hello? Is there someone?
No answer. I'm getting scared and starting to walk faster. I am almost running.
Suddenly I hear noises following behind me. I start running. Running for my life without knowing what's behind me. I don't want to look 'cause I fear falling while I'm not looking for the path along which I run.
The thing that's after me starts running too. I can hear that it must be very big. In the forest is nothing but I and that creature.
I keep running for a while, but I can't get away from that thing behind me.
fl
What might that creature be?
I can't run anymore, my legs won't hold me. Furthermore, I want to know what's chasing me, the next opportunity I have, I'm going to turn around.
Said and done, I turn around, and I wish I hadn't done it.
In front of me halts a two meters high black creature. It has long and thin arms. There aren't fingers at its hand, only something that looks like long and sharp nails that just wait for their victim. Because of the little moonlight I can't see its whole body, and I'm kinda happy about it. The monster has something that scares me the most.
Its eyes. The thing in front of me has big red shining eyes that stare directly through mine in my soul.
The last thing I remember before it reaches out to me are those eyes. They just radiate pure evilness…
I open my eyes as fast as I can and try as hard as I can to control my breath.
fl
Woah shit, that was just a dream. F*ck was that scary. I don't think I can go back to sleep now.
I think about what that beast could be while trying to get out of the bed to get a glass of water.
fl
But what… I can't move… Why ca-can't I move? The dream is over, right? So what's going on?!
I try to scream but there is no sound coming out of my mouth. I can only move my eyes with which I scan scared and hurriedly my surroundings.
fl
Hey, calm down. Stay cool, maybe it's just another dream!. It may feel real but it can't be so just calm down.
I control my breath again and close my eyes for a second.
fl
Right. It can't be real. Soon I wake up and everything is alright.
I open my eyes again just to see my room. It's dark because it's night. I see a little gap letting moonlight shine through my window. The moon brightens the foot side of my bed.
Suddenly one long black thing stretches out of the darkness and lays down on my bed. Then more of these things lay like fingers or more like long nails on my bed. I look into the darkness behind my bed trying to figure out what's there and some red eyes suddenly appear. I remember the creature, it's the one from my dream and yes, it is the thing. It crawls quietly out of the darkness on my bed and looks at me. I still cannot move. I can't scream. I'm just able to look at that monster that gets closer and closer, inch by inch. It isn't that big like in my dream but it still looks scary.
It stops above my chest and tends his head while looking at me. Not only that, but it lifts its hand and grabs my face with the long nails. I try to scream but again I am not able to do anything.
The thing over me seems to sense my helplessness and makes noises I interpret as it is laughing about me. It laughs loudly. But this isn't a normal laugh. The voice is deep but also can sound like someone would scratch with nails over a blackboard. This mix makes me even more terrified. It just sounds horrible.
Out of nowhere the laughing stops and the handle around my face is getting fixed. The creature looks me in the eyes while it lays its other hand around my throat. My eyes are getting bigger while the creature presses his hand on my throat. I try to push it away, to stand up and to push it back where the creature came from but I couldn't move. I'm lying here and watch this thing murder me.
fl
No, I don't want to die. I want to live!
My thoughts while I can't breathe anymore. I see the red eyes. Suddenly between the black of the monster something white flashes. Those are white sharp teeth. The handle around my face is getting softer and the creature lays its nails on my cheek. With a wide open mouth the monster gets near me and the only thing I can do is to scream.
Scream.
Yes, I can finally scream again. I scream as loud as I can and push the monster back. I jump out of my bed and do some steps away.
Suddenly my door opens and the light goes on. My parents stand in my room. My mother gets to me and tries to calm me down while my father investigates my bed. But he couldn't find anything.
I was so scared that I couldn't sleep anymore. I even needed to go to therapy. The therapist told me that it was sleep paralysis.
therapist
Almost everybody will experience sleep paralysis once in his life
Back then there was no track about that red eyed monster that tried to kill me.
There was just a bloody scratch on my cheek…

We write our stories as normal novels and I little try to make it possible to read it good here.

I have a novel with the same name having the originals, maybe you take a look there, too.
