Her eyes burst open and for a moment her eyes were blinded by the sunlight. She gave herself time to adjust then took in her surroundings. She was in a forest. No one was around her and she was left with nothing more than a full backpack. She decided to go through it later first she had to figure out what happened.
The root of the matter and the consequence of a single action. First she had to accept that being captured was her fault, although, had she decided to not attend the banquet she would be clueless as to her brother's disappearance. Speaking of which she had no idea of where her brothers even were but she decided to shelf the issue. The best way to help them would be to figure this mess out. When the banquet started everything seemed normal a couple of minutes in though and a common gesture appeared. The staff and the watches. The knockout drug had to be airborne but that wouldn't explain how the staff wasn't affected. Unless they were given a counteractive drug before hand. However there was her uncle, initially he hadn't been happy that she was there but he didn't seem concerned, there was no way he knew anything. Mr.Briggs couldn't afford his wrath the worst part was that he was in a meeting while everything happened. He probably didn't even know that they disappeared yet. There were also other important potential investors so, what did they all have in common? She took a breath and other than a little numb felt nothing wrong, meaning, they didn't take any blood, run experiments, poison, or anything else. What then could their purpose be?
Nothing else could be gained by pondering she would have to find others and gather as much information as she could to piece it all together. For now it was time to focus on the essentials. Most tend to think food is the most important in a survival situation truth is though, it's actually water, three days is all it takes to die without it. While people can survive a couple weeks going without food.
When searching for a water source in an unknown place the best ways to find it is to either listen or to follow. After stopping to listen every few steps she finally heard it the sound of moving water. It was quiet, nearly imperceptible, had she not lived most of her life in the forest the other sounds of flying insects, the wind, and even her own footsteps would have drowned it out. She made her way to it and found it to be a slow moving brook, not the ideal. Slow moving water has a tendency to harbor unwanted pests such as, reptiles, parasites, and insect larvae. She looked at the direction the current was flowing and then proceeded to move upstream. The current got faster the closer she got to the source and the water looked clearer so she decided it was a good time to take a break.
After making sure there was no one else around, it was time to check inventory. A blunt knife, lighter, 2 pairs of clothes, an empty canteen, some beef jerky, a journal, a blanket, a tarp, a black cube with symbols on all sides, and a first aide kit. "Hmmm it's an interesting array of items to say the least." She filled her canteen then put all her items away. She was ready to continue but decided to stop for a minute to enjoy the breeze. She then stiffened, the unmistakable feeling of being watched.
I don't have trust issues but I am careful of whom I place trust in. People tend to carry a mass of hidden agendas and lying becomes such a small and inconsequential thing in their eyes, which makes me hate it all the more. Actions speak louder than words its the reason I don't trust until the actions and words match up, even then, my guards always up. As a general rule I don't lie but I'm not above acting weaker than I actually am. I don't know who this person is but...it's showtime
