Not a good guy
Everyone in this country knew about tragic death of Previous Emperor and Empress and cruel fate of former Crown Prince and recent Prince Regent. Everyone was shocked when they saw Gong Jue accept Gong Che who killed his mother and rumors of killing previous Emperor, on the throne. And follow every order from this evil mother and son's. Everyone pitied him. But no one stand with him at that time. Everyone supported Prime minister because Prime Minister's daughter married to Gong Che, and he got his father-in-law's support, a powerful support, from a powerful background.
If it said that Gong Jue didn't hate Gong Che or present Empress dowager for destroying his family or prime minister for supporting that culprits or even Yuyan for loving the wrong guy then that will be a big lie. He hated all of them. Because of them he suffered a lot. He knew what kind of woman is Yanmei and what treatment Yuyan faced with the hands of her sister and husband. But he never stood for her because no one stand for him at that time. He knew that Yuyan was innocent. She just fell in love with a horrible guy but because of her Gong Che became the Emperor. He never forgives her for that.
But this Yuyan is different. She is not a weak queen who is fool enough to do anything for sake of love. And he understands that Yuyan is not stupid enough to believe in him. Gong Jue was little scared of this new Yuyan because he thought Yuyan see evilness in his eyes
And he was scared for another thing that maybe he little by little fall in love with his not so weak sister-in-law.
