I've got a hypothesis! Aiden is a spirit but not entirely, meaning he's still alive(maybe in a vegetative state/coma). He got into a car accident then his spirit separated from his body but he's still alive. While wandering about, he met Alyssa's grandpa then so on up to where we are in the present. That's why he has no spirit glow.
