The Hostage Prince

::Junmyeon P.O.V::

The

smell of fresh bread, the afternoon breeze, and the warmth from the sun made

everything about this day better since I arrive in this body. Remembering the

time where I was stuck on the bed because I had no strength or energy to move

about due to my conditions.

It

really was a nice day out. It’s been a while since I felt this much sunlight on

my skin. My eyes waters slightly, this is my second chance. I have to survive

everything to live a better life than I had my previous.

“Are

you feeling alright, your highness? Would you like to stop and rest?” Bogum

asked being super attentive.

“I’m

alright for now. Let’s just keep going.” I told him.

Now

where is that damn place? I don’t want to ask Bogum, the man is going to bombard

me with questions, and I don’t feel up to answering anything right now. Letting

out a sigh I continue walking to God knows where.

There

was a pork bun stall and I felt myself craving it. Walking toward the delicious

scent I didn’t care to wait and see if Bogum was right behind me or not.

“Only 5

aerugo coins for a pork meat bun! Won’t last come and buy!” the salesman

shouted.

“I

would like 5 port meat buns please.” I said approaching him.

“Of

course, master, that will be 25 aerugo coins please.” He answered.

Shit…how

much is that? “Uh…give me one a minute, my guard has my coin pouch.”

“Your

hi”—

“Bogum,

my pouch please.” I asked cutting him off from revealing who I was.

He

handed me the pouch, but I realized I didn’t know how the currency here work

yet, so I handed him back the pouch, “Hand him 25 aerugo coins”

“Of

course.” He replied.

I

watched carefully making sure to get it right next time, I really need to get

it together. I sighed.

I sat

down on the small seating table, relaxing as I start to feel a bit exhausted.

This body is really frail when it comes to exerting energy I realized, no

wonder he looks like someone’s bitch. He should have been born a female.

Mentally shaking my head, I turn my attention back to my pork meat buns. Wow

this smells divine.

I took

a bite out of the small fluffy buns and my mouth exploded with vibrant flavors.

Wow. This has got to be the most delicious meat buns I have ever tasted. Yum… I

closed my eyes savoring the sweet and tanginess of the pork fillings.

“I

heard they’re holding the auction in the back of The Divine Pavilion again.”

My ears

perked up when I heard the word auction. Is it the same one I’m looking for?

“Shh,

not to loud. Someone might hear you. You know its illegal right? Those people

will get caught sooner or later.” I heard the loud shush.

“But

aren’t you curious? I heard they are slave that was brought over from the neighboring

country. Don’t you want to see how they look? I heard they all look barbaric

not at all like us. Even the female looks like men with bulky muscles.”

This

guy is dumb to listen to that kind of rumors. Plus, all women are beautiful regardless

of their shapes and size. I’ve seen many forms in my previous life. They all

have their unique physique. There’s always a preference that suits somebody’s

taste.

“Come

with me? I’m thinking of checking it out.” I wanted to turn and look so bad,

but I know Bogum would be suspicious of why I am curious.

“No,

I’m not going. Go by yourself.” The man said.

“You’re

no fun man.”

“Your

highness? Is the pork meat bun not to your liking?” Bogum asked.

“Bogum,

don’t address me as your highness. I don’t want people to know. Just call me

Junmyeon.” I told him

“That

is not possible your highness, I can’t be that bold to address you by your

name.” a look of horror wash over his face.

“Fine

just settle for master than. it’s not so conspicuous.” I sighed.

“Yes

your—ah master.”

After

eating 3 pork buns I gave the rest to Bogum who at first rejected it, saying

it’s my food he doesn’t have the right to it. Geez. This guy is too much

sometimes. I literally had to force it into his mouth.

We set

off again, now with a destination in mind I felt more relieved.

“Hey

Bogum? Have you ever been to The Divine pavilion?”

“Your

hi—my mean Master. Where did you hear such a thing?” Bogum looked appalled, I

couldn’t help but laugh at his expression.

“Calm

down, I just heard a passerby saying it. So, I was curious. So have you?” I

asked.

“No

master, I never been there. All though I heard from other guards at the palace.

It’s a place for men to rid their frustration.” The darn guy blushed.

“Are

you a ******? How old are you?” I asked amused.

“Master?

Have you really forgotten?” what now?

“Forgot

what?”

“When I

was assigned your personal guard at the age of 14, by your mother; the Empress order;

I took an oath of purity and will never stray unless of course you permit me to

marry or want my body as well as my loyalty.” There goes that blush again.

What

kind of shit is this? What was the woman thinking?

“How

old was I when this order took place?” I asked out of pure curiosity.

“Seven,

master. I remember when I was presented to you it was your request to take me

as your guard because you found me handsome.” He cleared his throat, “So the

empress gave me the order. That once you’re grown, its up to you what my fate

would be.”

“How

old are you now?” again, just curious.

“I’m 24

your hi—master.”

And I’m

7 years younger than him. Geez the poor guy, I lost my virginity at 19 in my previous

life.

“Have

you even masturbated?”

“Master!”

the man was so shocked his face look like a ripe tomato, wow. This is

hilarious.

“What?

We’re both men.” I laughed, “So have you.”

“Uh…please

master. can I not answer that? It’s a bit improper.” He mumbled.

He’s

actually pretty funny to tease. Ah, well. I’ll stop for now, “Alright” I

smiled.

Finally,

without help I found the Divine pavilion on my own. It was a huge place you

can’t miss it.

Behind

the place was what I heard the men from earlier talk about is where the auction

is taking place. Finally, the time has come for me to change the storyline of

this blasted novel.

I

walked toward the back when Bogum stopped me, “Master, why are you heading this

way? It’s not safe. We should stay around crowded area. Who knows if there’s

any traitor lurking around to catch us by surprise?”

“I’m

perfectly safe with you here. I just want to see what’s back there. Don’t you

see there’s a crowd forming?” I told him.

“But

Master.”

“Bogum,

stop pestering me or help me God.” I said with frustration.

He

finally bowed and step aside of me.

Taking

a deep breath, I took a step forward then another until I arrived where a crowd

was gathering.

Curious, I scan the area where

people are gathered. Men and woman of different gentry could be seen, from commoner

to rich merchants and I’m sure there are other higher position people beside myself.

“I don’t

think we should be that close, master.” Bogum whispered near me.

“We’re fine.”

I placate the man.

“Ladies

and Gentlemen, eyes here please.” A loud booming voice caught our attention, “We

have some unique merchandise I think you guys would be interested in.”

He motions

for his men to retrieve whatever was behind the back door of the popular

pavilion. The next thing I notice, are one by one, people in chains are being pulled

out of the back door. They had a sack over their head, chains around both their

hands each one facing another’s back. How cruel.

No wonder

the hostage prince held such a deep hatred for Showen Empire.

Once they

were all out on display, they were made to turn toward else and one by one the

sack on their head was removed.

It didn’t

take me long to locate the said prince. He had such a regal way in his stance. He

stood proud while the others looked down and many of them, fear was visible in their

eyes. The proud man stood tall, his eyes roamed his surroundings, taking in the

situation at hand in stride. At least that’s what it seems like.

I listened

while some of the slaves were already auctioned off. Once they got to the

hostage prince, I was ready to do battle. I have to make it known that I’m going

to win this auction no matter what. Shit my life depended on it.

“Bogum,

announce to them, I want him for “5,000 gold coins.” I whispered to him.

He looked

at me with raised brows, but he didn’t question me, he turns to the merchant

and raised his voice, “My master would like to purchase this slave for $5,000 aurulent

coins.”

Gasp

and murmurs can be heard. I could hear someone say that’s way too much for a

slave.

Maybe…but

I wasn’t going to take that chance. I don’t feel like going back and forth with

someone when I know I can get him.

“Going

once, going twice…Sold! For $5,000 aurulent coins to the young master over

there.” He pointed at my direction. I turn my face slightly just in case

someone recognize me.

A

servant came toward us to lead us to the retrieving area. I followed him with Bogum

hot on my heels.

We were

placed in a tidy sitting area; thank God we weren’t with the other people. It was

a private transaction, I was told.

Probably

ten minutes or so, the man who dealt with the slave came to me, with the hostage

prince in tow.

“Hello

master, wow you really made my day today. What a big purchase you’ve made

today.” The man looks disgustingly excited, “Here is your slave proper papers. Is

there anything you need from me master?”

I looked

at the prince closely and notice the collar on his neck that seems to be bruising

his neck severely. I was getting mad to see such abuse.

I turn

to the man, “Take that off.”

He looked

confuse at first, “What? Take what off master?”

“That

collar, take it off of him.” I told him.

“But

uh, master, this man is a bit untamed. He’s a bit volatile. I think it’s best

to keep the collar own. It comes with a remote that sends shock wave to subdue

him if need be.” The irritable man explained.

I ignored

him, I turn to the man maybe if I try to explain to him he wouldn’t be overly

hostile, “Hey…my name is Junmyeon…I didn’t purchase you as a slave. So, I don’t

believe the collar is a necessity. But I need you to cooperate and promise me

that you won’t do anything that I need to be concerned about. Can you promise

me that?” I asked him.

He looked

at me, distrust is clearly shown on his face, “What do you want from me? I don’t

believe you Showen people are genuinely nice.” He spat.

“How

dare you!” Bogum quickly grabbed the man dirty shirt, hauling him up, “Do you

realize who you are speaking too? I can have you killed right now, and it would

be justified.” Bogum angry face wasn’t something I could get use to; the man

normally looks so tamed and boring? But in this situation, he looks very

animated. Almost cool.

“That’s

enough, Bogum.” I voiced.

Bogum reluctantly

let him go, and walked back to my side, his face still full of anger.

Ignoring

my angry guard, I turn back to the prince, “I don’t know what mistreatment you’ve

dealt with since arriving at Showen Empire. But I assure you, that is not in my

agenda for you. I feel that there’s more to you than what I see. I feel that we

can be good for one another. I just need you to promise you will let me show you

I really mean you know harm.” Making him promise me is a must. The man is full

of honor, he stands by his words and promises. At least that’s what is portrayed

in the novel. So, getting him to promise me is a sense of relief for me.

“Fine. I’ll

humor you. I promise. But the minute I feel like I can’t trust you I will revoke

these so-called promises. Deal?” The man had intense gaze I noticed. His silver

eyes bore into mines almost daringly.

“Deal.”

I smiled.

I turn

back to the irritable merchant, “Take it off.” I told him again.

He reluctantly

took off the collar, “I hope you don’t regret your decision, master.”

I stared

at the handsome man, as he rubbed his neck to relieve the pain he must be

feeling, watched as he stared at me still trying to figure me out, Bogum angry

expression intensified, as he watches this man staring at me insolently.

“I’m

sure I made the right choice. I won’t regret this.” I smiled.

I turn to

the two handsome men, “Let’s go home.”

In that

moment, the erratic heartbeat I was feeling moments before when I first met

this man have finally calm down, beating evenly. It was a great feeling for

sure, I’m closer to my goal of surviving this damn novel.
