Alex and Sean looked at each other frustrated by the interruption. Alex got up and started to get dressed, apologizing.
"I'm sorry, baby. It must be something from work, they wouldn't have knocked if it wasn't important." - Sean, who also got up and started to get dressed, replied:
"You don't have to apologize. I know you're a busy man with work."
After they got dressed, Alex walked to the door and opened it. James was standing there looking like he had been caught spying.
"Sir, I apologize for interrupting, but something unexpected has come up. I think it would be best if you came downstairs."
Alex found James' demeanor odd, the man continued:
"You too, Mr. Parker. Your sister isn't feeling well." - Sean's eyes widened and he spoke: "What happened to Kate?" - he asked worriedly.
"The young lady overindulged in drink and is not feeling well." - Sean sighed and before leaving the room with Alex he scolded James with a warning:
"*I'm going to see how my sister is. I expect that next time you don't address me as sir and much less call me by my last name. Address me as 'you' and call me Sean."
"Very well. Young Sean*" - said James.
Sean snorted and gave an unreadable look to Alex who was amused by the situation.
After leaving, they went down the stairs and a group of men in suits were in the living room waiting for them. The man's countenance changed from cheerful to somber.
The men were from the German Mafia. They were known for being ruthless and always operating outside the code, always doing what they wanted in Alex's territory. One man in particular looked at Sean with malice. He looked the young man's body up and down and even ran his tongue over his lips. Axel Schneider, son of the head of the German Mafia, wouldn't stop staring at Sean. The young man felt apprehensive because the man was quite tall like most Germans, as was Alex, the German exuded a certain air of control, however, unlike the host, Axel was quite dangerous.
The man walked over to Sean.
Axel...
Upon approaching the young man, he extended his hand in greeting:
"I don't think we've been introduced. I'm Axel Schneider." - Despite feeling the heavy atmosphere, Sean saw no problem in returning the greeting. He raised his hand to shake Axel's, however, as soon as he raised his hand, Axel took it and kissed it, leaving the young man apprehensive. Before Sean could speak his name, Alex, who was almost reaching for his gun to shoot the German who was being provocative in the head, stepped in front of Sean, looked at the young man and spoke.
"Why don't you go see how your sister is doing. I have matters to attend to here."
Sean nodded and as he turned to go outside, Axel spoke:
"We'll see each other again, blondie (hahaha)"
Alex gave him a death glare.
Sean was outside where the party was also taking place. He saw Kate sitting on the edge of the pool, he crouched down and put his hand on her shoulder and started rubbing her back.
"How are you doing, little sister? Did you overdo it today?"
Kate leaned into Sean, answering:
"I overdid it today. I think I'm going home."
One of the men who worked for Alex approached and said:
"Mr. Parker, Mr. Carter asked us to have some rooms prepared for your sister and her friends to spend the night. If you'd like, we can take your sister to one of them and we'll get something ready for her to get better."
Sean looked at Kate and then spoke:
"I'll let you decide." - She replied immediately: - "I want the room. You can't leave this party. I'm sure if I went home, you'd want to go too. You have to work things out with Alex first."
Sean just nodded and he put his sister's arm over his shoulder. He and the security guard walked toward the stairs to go to the room to let Kate rest.
Meanwhile, in Alex's office...
"Before you say what you want, I must warn you all. That young man is under my protection. And as for you, Axel, don't you dare go near him. I know you've taken an interest."
The German walked closer to the desk and spoke:
"Then I suggest you take good care of that blondie. Don't let him run around loose. Someone like him attracts a lot of attention."
Alex was about to lunge at Axel when he added:
"I'm just kidding, dear boy." - He said raising his hands in surrender.
"What do you want here?" - Alex asked looking directly at Frederick, Axel's father.
"We just came to confirm that the deal is still on, about the shipment coming from Mexico."
Alex nodded: - "It's all going according to plan. In 15 days, you'll have your shipment inside your country."
4 Hours Later...
Alex still hadn't finished the meeting. Sean left his sister in the room and after she fell asleep he went back to the party. Zack was talking to a group of people and Annie was flirting with a guy. Sean was alone. The young man went to the pool and noticed that no one else was swimming. Some people had already left the party and others remained. As he looked out over the pool, a figure stopped behind Sean. The young man noticed and upon turning, came face to face with Luke. Sean tried to pull away, but to no avail.
"Do you really think you've managed to win over Alex? People like you, he uses for a while and when he gets tired of them, he throws them away like a used toy. And when that happens, he'll come back to me. He always comes back, you know why?" - Sean just raised his eyebrows and kept listening.
"Because I'm the only love of his life. We'll always get back together, no matter what happens."
Sean approached Luke, saying:
"You're pathetic! From the little I've seen of you two today, I've gathered that Alex can't stand being around you. You can offend me all you want, I don't give a damn what you think or say. I'm not interested in your delusion of getting back together with him. I'm going to give you some advice even though you don't deserve it. Get a grip, you idiot. You're humiliating yourself by acting like this. Move on. Believe me, it will be better for you and everyone else." - Before Sean could walk away, Luke grabbed him by the arm and threw him into the pool. Annie, who saw the whole scene, approached, saying:
"Nobody does that to my friend!" - She kicked him in the groin, leaving Luke sprawled out, approached the pool, crouched down and lowered her hand to help her friend out.
Sean was all soaked, he took off his shirt and began to wring it out to remove the excess water. Luke got up with difficulty and walked out towards the gate and left.
Meanwhile, a group of people, men and women who were nearby, saw the commotion and began to ogle Sean, the young man, who was wet and shirtless, was attracting malicious looks.
Random Guy 1: "My God! What a delicious sight to behold." - The stranger spoke, biting his lips and looking at Sean with malice.
Random Guy 2: "Somebody get the fire extinguisher because I think this place is going to catch fire. What I wouldn't do to have a treat like that in my bed."
Two women were also lusting after Sean. One of them even whistled to get the young man's attention. It was then that Sean noticed the stares in his direction.
"My dear, you have to tell me what your secret is. Even after this mess, people are lusting after you, it seems even more than before." - Annie said with a laugh.
James, who had been assigned to watch Sean from afar without the young man noticing, saw the whole incident and the people confronting him.
"The boss is not going to like this one bit. He's already pissed off. This is going to make him worse. Sean hasn't noticed yet, but Alex is jealous and possessive when it comes to him. Because he's really in love."
James went back inside and knocked on the office door to report the situation, much to his reluctance. After all, it was his duty.
"Knock, knock, knock"...
After knocking on the door, Nick opened it and asked:
"Is something wrong?" - James stepped closer and whispered something in Nick's ear, who widened his eyes, saying - "Are you sure? He's not going to like this." - James just nodded his head in confirmation.
Alex was finding their behavior strange and asked. - "What's going on out there?."
Nick cleared his throat and spoke: "Something unexpected is happening, I think you should see for yourself, sir."
Alex clenched his jaw already sensing that whatever was happening involved Sean.
"I guess we have nothing more to talk about. We can end this for now."
The men agreed, they all shook hands and left the office. Alex questioned James.
"What happened after all?" - James was nervous, the man knew that Alex would be frustrated by the fact that people were hitting on Sean.
"Sir, Luke made a huge scene with Mr. Parker, confronted him and threw him in the pool. The boy got soaked and..." - Alex frowned already exasperated and asked - "And what, James? Spit it out!"
James took a deep breath and continued:
"He took his shirt off outside to dry, he's still without it and there's a group of people, men and women, looking at him lecherously. Some are even hitting on him."
Alex's expression changed to a fierce one, even though he knew it was not Sean's fault, jealousy was consuming him. He went outside quickly and as he reached the garden, he saw some people around Sean, trying to get his attention.
Alex approached, looked at the people furiously, they understood the message and left. Alex took off his jacket and put it on Sean, covering his bare chest. Without saying a word, he pulled him by the arm and led him inside, up the stairs and after entering the room. Alex let go of him and faced him with a different look.
