The Old Fear

*******Flashback*******

Jas pacing back and forth tensely....

"Jas, you're driving me crazy, It's gonna be be Fine,, stop worrying so much", Arya Smiles confidently while slouching on the bed like a cat.

"How could you be so sure Arya? What if he doesn't like me the way, I do. then I will look all clingy and stupid. What if...what if he hates me?!"

suddenly Arya jumps from the bed stretches a bit and hugs Jas from the side...

"How can someone hate, an adorable fool.... like you! Besides, and you have been friends for four years now... ", she says in an assuring manner

"I don't think I can do this Arya, what if, he flips out and decide that he never wanna see me again?"

"Jasmin Arora, you have been crushing on this guy for years now and God knows...you have tormented me and yourself enough with these feelings of yours. So, you better pull your As* together and tell him how you feel", she says strictly while shaking me tightly with her arms and staring directly in my eyes.

*Sometimes she can be really dramatic*

" Okay! I am gonna do it! ", I reply quietly, still unsure about the situation.

"Girls Come Out and take your breakfast", my mom shouts from the kitchen..interrupting our conversation.

"Well, You Better!", she assures me again

"Coming Aunty!!", she replies to my mom with the same enthusiasm.

"Let's go before aunty hangs you upside down from the fan.", she laughs while tugging me towards the dinning room. I rolled my eyes and then followed her.

*Sometimes I feel, my mom likes Arya more than she likes me. Well, why won't she Arya was one of the best person I knew. We have been neighbors and friends ever since I was 5 years old. She was two years older than me in age but 10 years older than me in maturity (Okay Not that much! but you get the feeling right?!) She has always been there for me through thick and thin. Her parents owned a book store in the town and she helped them with it along with her studies when we were little and Now, as an adult she was working as an intern in a big IT company in Delhi, it was because of her I was also interested in the field of Computers. She was more like a sister to me, and I always felt that I was really lucky to have someone like her in my life.*

"Where is Dad?!", I ask mom, while she served us breakfast.

"Oh he went office early, Some materials came and he had to receive the delivery", My mom sighs her exasperation.

"Ummm..... Aunty these Aloo Paranthas are soo..Delicious really! You've gotta teach me How to cook them like you, mine never turns out as Yummy. ohh my godd..!! I think,, I just got an ****** from their aroma only, I wonder what they are gonna feel like in my mouth", she smiles widely while savagely devouring her plate.

"Stop it, butt kisser!", I chuckled.

"You are just jealous, because you know Aunty made them for me and not you.", she smirks

" Whatever!", I roll my eyes at her, jokingly

"Do you wanna take some back home for Advik as well honey?", my mom asks Arya

Advik was Arya's little brother he was a senior in school. He was just a year younger than me. Advik and Arya were worlds apart. She was the golden Angel while her brother was a little devil.

"No Aunty! he just lives on junk food these days, we are tired of telling him to eat more healthy stuff he just doesn't listen to us anymore, but if you want you can pack some of those magical Paranthas for me", she smiles greedily at my mom.

"Of course honey! Even I am tired from jasmin on this, She just likes to eat pizza or burger or chips all the time. It's really bad for her health, but she just never listens. I told her to do yoga or join a gym or something but she just doesn't care at all", she complains while frowning at me dramatically

*And Now you know why my mum loves my best friend more... both are severely dramatic like they jump right out of a TV serial.*

" Um.. Hello.. I am right here mum?! and why didn't you asked me to pack some for my...friends? ", I inquired

"Don't worry Aunty, I will walk her in the garden in the evening!", Arya winks to my mom sheepishly, while totally ignoring my comment. and smirks in my direction

"I am Still Here, weird people!! And I am not a dog", I try again.

"Oh Jas Honey, you should be glad Arya is trying to help you even after being so busy, and I will pack you some for the lunch don't worry, you can share them with your little friends"

"Mom,, I am not so little anymore, I go.. to college.", I scoff

Suddenly, my phone lights up from a Message it's from Harsh. My heart suddenly starts beating fast and my stomach butterflies begin singing. I rush to unlock my phone screen with oily hands and open the message to read the content.
