Things got more colourful for me

“ Huh, didn’t quite catch you there,” Fuyuko says.

“ I’ll come. Like I have to be with anyone else,” I tell her.

We walked up to the roof and as we were going there Kiriyama started a conversation.

“ You know Kiriyama, I’ve been having this problem,” I tell him. He’s the only one I can trust with things like this because he is the only one who understands me.

“ What happened? You got into trouble again is what,” he asks me mockingly.

“ You should not tell Fuyuko about this no matter what ok?” I say before he blurts out anything in front of her.

“ Ok, ok.. Tell me already. I’m listening you know. I’ll always help you so you can trust me in your problems.”

“ Then I’ll start by asking you something. Do you think Fuyuko looks better today?” I ask him just to make sure I’m not just blind.

“ she looks the same to me. Why you see anything different about her?” he asks like he already knows what I’m talking about.

“ It's just that she looks prettier than usual,” not quite certain about what I wanted to tell him.

“ Ah.. I see, I'm sorry bout that's something you'll have to find out by yourself.,” he said on a very sly tone. ‘ I guess he’s finally realised and recognised his feeling huh? It’ll take sometime but it should not take very long. In fact I think this will be quick.’

“ Oii what you guys talking about over there,” Fuyuko asks with lots of doubt I’m her mind.

“ Ah.. nothing it’s just that I’m hungry,” I say.

“ Then let’s eat.”

“ Yea, let’s eat.”

We sit on the roof and start eating. I look at Fuyuko and admire her. Was she always like this, I think to myself. She looks different from before. She looks like she has light around her and we are the only two people in the entire school. It felt like that until she asked me weather I was going to eat or not.

“ Jezz, you’ve been spacing out a lot recently. Are you really ok?” she asks with a lot of concern.

“ I’m fine really,” I tell her and start eating.’ The problem is what happened to you. You seem so different to me all of a sudden.’ It’s not like I can actually ask her that. Its been very different since that day. Since that lunch. It makes me wonder sometimes weather we actually do have people who change and nobody notices but you do. Or there are people who don’t change at all and there will be people who tell them they’ve changed a lot. I don’t what it is. But it feels different to me. She seems different to me. It’s been so good these days and starting to feel more happier. Someone told me on the day of the opening ceremony that the colour of happiness is the colour you choose it to be. In other words, the colour can be anything and so can happiness. It differs from one person to another and I’m guessing this is my happiness. This is my way of being happy. I didn’t know why it made me happy but all I know is that I was happy that the smallest things she did made me happy. The way she smiled, the way she talked, the way the breeze would push onto her. I’ll liked everything about that and that’s when I realised something too. I realised something really important. As I’m writing this there’s someone out who cares about me. And it’s about time that I tell them about how I really-

“ Oi, Akio. Let’s go. Class is over,” Fuyuko says.

“ Let’s go. I’ll call Kiriyama so you wait at the entrance for me ok?”

“Ok.”

I go and call Kiriyama from the next class and found him surrounded by girls.

“ Kiriyama, you forgot us huh?” I ask him sarcastically.

“ Lets go.”

“ You know what, thanks Kiriyama, I’ve realised something today.”

“ And what’s that?”

“ I realise that I’ve finally-“

“ Come fast already,” Fuyuko calls out.

“ Guess we gotta go huh?”

“ Let’s go.”
