Unwanted Attention

Somewhere in a harsh desert where a forest separate the desert and the outmost borderland of the Collium Empire, a village of demon race resides on the desert.

Using illusion magic to conceal themselves from the human race, A desert with a heat that a mere human will die from heatstroke, but the demon race has resistants for the heat of the desert.

The forest is one of their sources of materials, foods, and any necessary things for their survival, but that forest is also the inhabitants of vicious magic beasts.

Most of the demon race is capable of fighting one on one on demon beast, so the villagers are not prohibited to go to the forest.

A small family a mother named Kelsea, A father named Arrath and there eight year old daughter named Alesa.

The father hunts in the forest while the mother and daughter search for herbs.

Whenever they went to the forest the mother sings elegantly to make the mood more comfortable.

" Mama what is the song that your usually sing, I wanna sing like mama too " Alesa happily said

" The song is for the Demon Lord called " Demon Lord's Grace " I shall happily teach you this song my dear Alesa " said by Kelsea

" Mama what's a Demon Lord? I never heard that before " asked by Alesa

" The Demon Lord is a who not what, he is the most powerful being that once ruled the world , it is said that he has the power to rival the gods and he also the nicest person who strive for peace " answer by Kelsea

" If he ruled the world and strived for peace why are we hiding from humans?? " asked by Alesa

" How did you know that we are hiding from humans?? " questioned by Kelsea

" I heard from the elders they says humans are bad people and I must stay away from them. " answer by Alesa

" It is said that the humans used tricks to defeat the Demon Lord, after the Demon Lord's defeat the human begin their conquest doing bad things to other races like us which lead us to hiding " answer by Kelsea

" Oh I see, so I should not just trust humans right cause there bad people, right mama?? "

said by Alesa

" That's right my dear Alesa, now the song that I'm gonna teach you, so listen well " said by Kelsea

" OK " happily replied by Alesa

The elegant song can be heard through the woods, which lead to unwanted attention.

" Now Alesia my dear, you try " said by Kelsea

" I will do my best mama! " said by Alesa with a big smile on her face.

While listening to Kelsea listen to her daughter she heard dead branch breaks which caught her attention.

" Alesa your good, so you can stop now " gently said by Kelsea.

" Yey now I can sing together with mama " happily said by Alesa

" Alesa let's play hide and seek, I will be the seeker so do your best to hide and I will give you a big prize if you can hide for an hour. " said by Kelsea

" I will hide so good that mama won't find for a day " confidently said by Alesa

" I'll start counting now so you better get going " said by Kelsea

As Kelsea count down, Alesa make haste to a big bush.

The bush is hard to notice because of the surrounding plants and other bushes near it.

Alesa has no way of seeing things and is far to hear anything from where she and her mother were to.

Back to the area where Kelsea is now.

" Come out beast!" Kelsea loudly said

A pack of magic beasts emerged before her.

" There's too many, but I'll lead them away from my precious Alesa " Kelsea think to herself.

Somewhere back to the village, The house of the small family.

" Honey and Alesa! I'm home and I have a huge catch today! " Arrath loudly said, but there were no answer, he search the entire house and found out that no one is present.

Arrath has realize that something bad had happened to his family, he dash back to the forest searching for his family.

" ALESA!!KELSEA!! " Arrath scream while running to the forest, his scream echo through the forest which was heard by Alesa.

" That's father's voice he might be pissed, because mama and I are playing in the forest" Alesa thought to herself, then she came out from hiding following her father's voice.

Arrath who never stop calling for his family stumbled upon a trail of blood, he had realize something dire has happened and yet he followed the trail of blood, prepare for the worst situation.

He found Kelsea at death's door and a pack of dead magic beast near here.

" KELSEA HANG IN THERE!! " Arrath said to her and he hold her to his arms.

Kelsea reach and touch Arrath face and said with her dying breath " Arrath please take a good care of our daughter raise her well without me, I know you'll do your very best " as she smile and close her eyes. Death has taken her.

" I will Kelsea, I will " said by Arrath with tears running down his face and proceed to carry Kelsea dead body.

Alesa found her father carrying her mother which seems to be lifeless and ask " Papa what happened to mama?? "

" She just sleeping and tired Alesa, you better go home first " replied by Arrath

" Ok I'll be waiting for mama and papa " said by Alesa.

Arrath found a peaceful area of the forest and proceed to bury Kelsea and he put stones upon her grave as a tombstone to remind where she is buried.

Arrath leave and goes home with a sad gloomy face that day.
