CHAPTER 07

We got into the car and  I took the driving task, while Nathan sat on the front seat with me leaving Natasha on the back seat sulking .

I drove to the nearby supermarket,on the way  we could see people screaming and running away from zombies. The scene was so chaotic , but there is no way I'm going to help everybody i see. I'm not a world savior .

When we arrived near the nearby supermarket, it was quite around the supermarket with few bodies on the ground, blood was everywhere on the road. For me it was a normal thing but for Nathan and Natasha was a scary thing i guess, cause i could see them clutching their wooden bat in their hands,  they look scared but there is nothing i can do,  the world have already changed and this is the new reality they have to get used to it sooner or later .

I parked the car near the supermarket and got out of the car. I looked back to Nathan and Natasha who were still in the car .

" Are you guys coming or what ?" i asked them and when they heard my voice, it was like I had awoken them from their daze and they started exiting the car quickly.  

I can hear Natashas mummy voice saying that it was a bad idea coming here and not running away from this city,  which made me chuckle a little. 

I  started walking toward the supermarket while Natasha and Nathan were a few feet behind me, following me while clutching on their bats tightly.

" Be careful, don't get bitten or scratched,  or else you might also turn into zombies too,  and don't dare scream or make noise, or  else you might alert the zombies, cause zombies are so sensitive with sound " I said as I walked ahead leading them to the supermarket. 

The supermarket had only two floors,  the first one was for normal people and the upper one was mostly for VIPs and other people who can afford the price .

When we reached the supermarket door we found it wide open and there were traces of blood on the ground .

I took my sword from my space, which I prepared before and put myself ready for any sudden attack. 

Although it was the first day of the apocalypse and most zombies were still weak in combat, I couldn't let my guard down even a little. 

 I kept going forward , the supermarket was quiet,  and I could only hear the footsteps of Nathan and Natasha who were following me close behind me.

The supermarket was huge and had many section , so we started on the food section and started collecting food,  i passed Nathan a bag to keep some daily necessary for himself and some clothes,  and as for Natasha she had her own personal space 

We passed a lot of sections collecting our daily necessities .

We were walking in groups so as not to lose each other .

I focused on collecting clothes more. I collected clothes of every kind,  especially males clothes to avoid lecherous men's gaze,  because it's good for a girl in the apocalypse to cross dress as a man,  because in the apocalypse many females were targeted by lustful men and were treated as pets.

When we were on our way out of the supermarket,  before we could reach the exit door,  the door bursts open 

six men entered, holding guns in their hands, and their eyes were on us. Among the six people, only one of them, who was in the middle, looked calm. I guess he might be their leader.

But when I look at their leader, it feels like I know him because his face was somewhat familiar .

" You. .......``I said as I remember this man,  this was my room mate in a scientist lab,  while we were treated as lab rats. His name is Steve  ,  although we were in the same room, he hated talking too much at first but later on, when I kept on bugging him with questions, he said that he couldn't afford to have more friendship with others,  because he was betrayed by his close and trusted friend. 

" Do i know you? " asked the man curiously, cause he was sure that he never saw her. 

" No no no,  not at all,  needs some help " said Clara pointing at the mans shoulder, there was blood on his shirt, which turned part of his white shirt red, and I can see the part that seems like it was torn, i guess it might have been Zombie claws that scratched him. 

" No thanks, can't be  treated " said Steve  , cause he saw what happens to people who get scratched or bitten by zombies.  

" Sure it can,  not all people turn to zombies after getting scratched'' I said looking at Mike, this manpower might have been special, for him to get trapped in the laboratory as herself.

" What do you mean " asked Steve   with a serious expression 

" Some people get abilities, when they get scratched  " i said to him, then suddenly we heard a roar from a Zombie. 

'roarrrrr '

'Damn it, it's a zombie and it's calling for others with its noise ' I thought while cursing in my head .

Looking past Steve,  I can see three zombies coming toward us. From outside,  it seems they smell some fresh blood, but then suddenly I could see more zombies coming our way, which made me curse out loud  .

"Damn it, your blood is attracting them" I said , pulled him to the side and locked the supermarket door. 

But I knew the supermarket door wouldn't be able to hold them outside for long .

" So what are you going to do ? "

" We have to find another way out of here,before the zombies break the door.  "

" there is no other door in this supermarket "

" What,  so that means we are going to die here "

" shut up will you and follow me "

" but there is no other door out "

"Then i will make one " i said not caring about their shock
