--Backstory--
Five loud laughing young kids, each chasing each other in excitement of nothing.
"Hey! Get back here!" Kaurin yelled as he laughed loudly. Which made the other four squeal happily.
It was somewhat like a game of tag, which they played more carefully and more safely.
It was the night of the fourth of July, the two girls, Milia and Laurien were in a room. A room no kid was allowed in, yet it gave the best view of where the fireworks would take place
Just before it started, ten minutes before, Milia started to wheeze, it wasn't a good sign. She quickly clutched her chest as Laurien ran to her side.
Laurien was desperate, desperate for help. She started to call, "please! anyone help us!" She pleaded, as nurses came rushing into the room.
The two girls were taken out of the room and Milia was put on an oxygen mask and had to stay in her room for the rest of the night.
Laurien sighed, she only wanted to see the fireworks happen with her best friend. "I'm sorry..." Laurien told Milia to which she shook her head.
"It isn't your fault..." Milia coughed, her breath was shaky but she knew she would be alright. A small nod came from Laurien.
Throughout the night, Milia got worse. Doctors in and out of her room, making sure she was alright.
They didn't want her to be hurt or anything, desperately she shook her head, "please, let me be her heart donor! I need to be! I want my best friend and me to live together forever and this will make us stay together!" She clasped her hands tightly and she begged the doctors.
Soon it was time for Laurien's surgery, yet Laurien didn't know who her heart donor was, so as she was put on the medicine she quickly passed out and Milia was brought in.
They knew this would be wrong but fulfilling Milia's dreams of staying with Laurien was more important. Milia grabbed Laurien's hand and held it close as they put her on the medicine.
She closed her eyes and passed out.
Soon the actual surgery started. Once they finished, Milia was the first to be out so Laurien wouldn't know.
Laurien woke about two hours later. As she got out of the bed to go and hang out with Milia once she got to the room, she realized, Milia wasn't there.
She possibly thought Milia was in the bathroom, so she waited. She waited for hours but soon went back to her room and crying herself to sleep
She wanted her best friend but she never knew her best friend was gone.
