Chapter 4

It's been one week since I came to this world. I've learned a lot about it in this time. I'm a member of the hunter-partie Dragon scale, rank S (there are 10 different ranks. G is the lowest and A is the best ,,normal,, Rank. The remaining three are world-class rankings. S, SS and SSS. We are the third best hunter-partie in the world). ,,Hey Shadow!" I turn around. Akane is walking towards me. ,,Ready for your first magic training?". I nod nervously. She laughs. ,,Don't worry. We won't do anything dangerous.". Although I'm still nervous, I calm down a little. I follow her to the Dragon Scale's training hall (since they are one of the best their got a own training grounds). I'm stunned. It's HUGE! Akane smirks as she sees my face. Then we walk towards a door, she opens it and pushes me in. There isn't much in here. A few targets and a chest with ninja tools. Still,i think it's really cool. ,,Are you going to teach me how to use those?" I point at the weapons. Akame looks at me with a surprised expression, then she laughs. ,,Of course, but first you need to master the basic dark spells", she says wit an smirk on her face. I nod zealously. ,,OK then. Meditate. Try to feel the flow of its energy in your body. It feels kind of... Well, you'll know.". I close my eyes an do as she says. At first it's only dark. But then I feel a breeze. It's a... how should I describe it... it's... Black. I follow it and end up in some kind of space. I look around. There are countless flowing lights. Each of them has a different colour. Are these the elements? If that's the case I should look for darkness then. I remember Akiyama saying that its colour is purple. I let my eyes swift over the lights. Ah, there it is! I move towards it and take it into my hands. Suddenly, it dissapears. Instead,i can feel it circulate it within my body. I exult. I did it! Slowly I open my eyes. ,,Looks like it was a success, huh." Akane is sitting in front of me. I smile at her. ,,Yeah. So what's the next step?", I ask impatiently. She laughs. ,,Take it easy, girly. Don't rush it. If you do that, it might slow you down instead of speedeng up. Remember that.". I nod. ,,Good. Now, try gathering it in one place - your palm would be optimal.". I open my hand and close my eyes again. There it is. I can feel it's energy flowing everywhere. I try directing its flow towards my hand. It's surprisingly easy. Chapter 4

I smile. Now I try controlling it to the extent where I can let it hover above the palm of my hand. I even try to form it to a star. As I do that I hear Akane gasp. ,,What is it?", I ask while opening my eyes. ,,What is it!? She seriously asked me that?" the young assassin says in stunned disbelief. ,,Normally it would take a day just to direct the elemental energy into your palm but you let it fly above your hand while forming a star with it in less than 10 minutes! You're talent's crazy!!!". She shakes her head and takes a deep breath. After calming down she gives me a book named ,,The basic of dark magic 1,,. Additionally Akane explains, the most important thing about casting magic: ,,You have to imagine how the outcome of your spell looks like. It works even better if you know the process.". I think about her last sentence. So that would mean that if you know that fire needs oxygen, you can add some to it and it burns brighter. I smirk. If I just need to imagine it, it will be a peace of cake since I am creative and have a lot of fantasy. Time to surprise Akane a bit more! For the next 2 hours I'm busy reading the book. It's explanations are pretty good. I try to implement the contents of it. It works even easier than I thought! After a day of practice I mastered all of the books spells. I look at Akane, who stares at me speechlesly. I laugh as I see her facial expression. ,,I wonder how long it would normally take to learn all these spells", I think loudly. ,,A normal person would need at least one year of training to complete this book! And you did it within one day!!!", Akane responds in disbelief. ,,Can you please not tell the others about my learning speed? I'd like to surprise them.", I ask of Akane. She nodds. ,,Yeah. I would like to see their stupid faces faces too!". We giggle as we imagine it. But then, she gets serious again. ,,What's the matter?", I ask. Suddenly I get a real bad feeling. ,,I know how you got teleported into this world.", she says. Silence arises as I stare at her in disbelief. Does she have something to do with it? ,,What do you know?", I ask. Akane replies:,, Everything". She tells me all about it. It seems I've been transported into an other dimension. When I fell into the water the whirlpool led me to the so-called portal, which looks like a blue spiral. It connects two dimensions. Also, there are many other dimensions then the two I know. At least 100 of them. There are people who have the ability to control the portals. They are very few of them. In fact there is only one person in 50 dimensions, and Akane is one of the only two existing. The next one will be born in approximately 2 million years. And the most shocking news is, that I am the other one! Apparently I opened one of those portals unconsciously when I was in danger of drowning, so I wouldn't die. And Akane is willing to teach me how to control them. I ask her how she knows that, since we are the only two existing dimension travelers. She then tells me about a old book she found in the attik. It was left by one of the senior d-travelers and tells everything about it. She walks over to the chest and takes out a book. ,,This is it.", she says hand hands it over to me. ,,I don't need it since I already know it's contents. You can have it.".she smiles at me. I thank her and start reading. About half an hour later Akane asked me: ,,Since you know how it works now, are you gonna leave?". I can hear sadness and even a little bit of fear in her voice. ,,Of course not! You're all I portent to me. Although I will leave in a few years.", I answer emmidiatly. Relived, she smiles at me. I smile back. In my mind I promise her - no, the whole partie, that I'm gonna stay until I've payed them back for all their kindness and help them until then.
