He is not that bad

Verena went to the party with Eric. She was having a chit-chat with Lamisa and Zelda, she

felt a light tap on her shoulder. She turned around and her eyes widened.

"Hi Verena. Its been long since we last met."

"Iyan? Hi. Yah it's been almost 5years. You suddenly shifted to Canada and we lost contacts. So when did you come back?"

"Just a couple of weeks ago.

“I sort of came across Eric. Since he told me you are attending this party and I was also invited I thought why not come and see you?"

"So, you came to see me?" I asked teasingly with a grin.

"Yah ..no... I mean everyone. You, Eric, Lamisa, Zelda, Rowan ,Keilen everyone..." He

said while having a light shade of pink in his cheeks.

"Iyan,  you blushing? Someone is weak towards our Ena" Zelda said teasingly and this time we both blushed hard.

“Agh...... It feels so great meeting your college crush after so long.” Verena thought.

Time skip

As Verena came back , Zayden could tell something good must have happened seeing her smile. Her smile faded as he approached her.

 She asked Zayden "what do you want?"

 He took a deep breath and said "Look, I am sorry. It's obvious that you would be angry. Actually I was searching for

the watch that my mom gave me before passing away. It's really important. And I was desperate to find it. I should have told you sooner maybe."

He stoped for a moment and started again "I know..." but was cut off by her.

"I am sorry. I really am. Even before knowing anything I damaged all your

clothes."

Zayden smiled warmly saying "It's alright.

Now, you must be tired. Good night"

2days later

Verena was lying on her bed, her stomach hurt. She couldn’t get off her bed let alone

going to office.

"Verena I will be leaving for office in a few minutes. Will you accompany me or come later?' Zayden asked.

 "I am afraid I have to skip today. I don't feel too well."

Zayden rushed to her room slightly touch her forehead to see if she has a fever. Fret

was evident in his face.

"You don't have a fever" he said worriedly.

"No, actually I have stomach ache" Verena informed.

He nodded thoughtfully and said "Quite natural you are surviving on junk food only.

Actually I am impressed that you survived a week on nothing but junk food. I wanted to prevent you but I thought I have no such right. "

 There was an awkward silence for a moment and then again he started " Rest for now. I will be back in a triffy" and

he left that room.

After some time he came back with a bowl of soup.

“ Have this for now. I will make you lunch later on.” He handed her the soup.

Verena hesitantly took the soup. Maybe because she doesn't have strength to protest. As Zayden told that he will make her lunch she gave him a confused look and said "Aren't you going to office? It's already late. You should go now. I will tell Eric to buy me lunch. Something healthy so you don't have to

worry."

He took a deep breathe and told " I already told Evelina that I will be skipping office today."

Flashback~~~~

"Hello Eve, I won't be coming to office today. So manage everything there for today".

"Why? Are you sick? Should I bring you a doctor?"

"No, I am fine. I am not in need of a doctor. Thank you."

" I heard Ms.Verena is also not coming. That means..... Someone wants to spend time with his would be wife. Someone is falling. So, I won't interupt. Enjoy your private time~~~~"

"Eve, could you please throw off your daydreams through the window? It's not anything....."

Before he could finish, the line was cut off.

Zayden sighed thinking back his conversation with Evelina.

As Verena finished her soup he handed over the medicines and told her " From now on I would be cooking for us. I already cook for myself so it won't be a problem cooking for two." Verena was about to say something but remained silent.

Verena wanted to protest but she knew it won't bring her any good.  She realizes she can't actually live on junk

food. And somehow she felt even if she protested,  he won’t listen. At the very least his smile is telling her so. She looked out though the window and thought....

"Maybe he isn't as bad as I thought."
