Chapter 1.1

*Madison POV*

"MAAAADDDDIIISON" I heard someone shout, while shaking me viciously

"Whattttt" I groaned, opening my eyes to see my roommate Chloe, hovering over me.

As I saw the panic look on her face, I quickly sat up and she started pacing around my bedroom.

I felt around for my phone looked to see that I had 26 miss calls and 22 messages from my mother.

"Shit" I mumbled and looked back at Chloe.

"Your mother is on her way" Chloe said "we have less than 20 minutes"

She rushed out of my room and I stood up, starting to feel panicked as well.

"Don't just stand there, take everything DOWN" Chloe yelled from her bedroom and I started to move.

You might be wondering, why are we behaving this way just because my mom is heading over here? Well that's the thing, MY MOTHER IS COMING OVER. It might not seem as nerve-wrecking to you but it is for us.

Let me tell you about my mother,

since she is an 'old-soul' and doesn't live with me anymore, she expects me to focus more on 'maturing' than to waste my time on foolish things-----> hence, our posters and everything else in our apartment. And if she sees one thing out of place, JUST ONE, she would burn everything related to it and that's not a big deal for her. That's just one thing she does, image what else she is capable of😬

I tried to take everything down, as fast as I could but being as careful as I could.

After a couple of minutes of taking stuff down and fixing the place, I felt a little proud of us. This wasnt my first rodeo you know, I have done this for years. I did last minute inspection around the entire apartment, feeling satisfied. As Chloe finished up with the bathroom, I grabbed my towel, my clothes that I'll planning on changing into and headed to shower.

"Hurry Maddie, we have less than 10 minutes left" Chloe said and I nodded.

Let me tell you something, that was the QUICKEST that I ever gotten ready because I usually take about an hour, ok that's a lie but I usually take more than 10 minutes to get ready but not as long as an hour.

As I came out, the bell rang and I saw Chloe by the door, trying to even out her breathing before open the door. I rushed to her side, both plastering a fake smile on and opened the door to my mom.

"Mama" I said through my teeth "entrez s'il vous plait (please come in)". Did I forget to tell you that my mom only speaks french.

"madison, je t'ai appelé plusieurs fois, pourquoi tu n'as pas répondu (Madison, I called you many times, why didnt you answer) " My mom said as she entered. She hugged Chloe and headed to the living room.

"désolé maman, je dormais quand vous appeliez (sorry mom, I was sleeping when you called) " I replied while Chloe stood there awkwardly. Yup she doesnt speak French no matter how many times she tried to learn it. I sat down on the couch while I saw my mom inspecting everything very closely.

"comment pourriez-vous vous réveiller si tard. vous êtes tellement paresseux (how could you wake up so late, you are so lazy)" my mom spoke and I mentally rolled my eye.

"Eh bien je me suis couché tard (Well I went to bed late) " I mumbled and Chloe stood up. My mom looked at her, with her eyebrow raised.

"Um.... I got to go......" Chloe spoke "I umm just remembered that I had to meet with a friend right now"

My mother scoffed and I gave Chloe 'don't you dare leave" but she just smiled and she was out the door. I slumped into my chair

"Great, just great" I said to myself

My mom looked at me with a look and I straighted up in my seat.

"as-tu faim maman? (are you hungry mother) " I asked, trying my best for her to not look around to closely

"non, je ne suis pas. je vais regarder autour de moi puis partir ( no I'm not, I am going to look around and then leave) " She said, standing up and walking toward my bedroom. I followed behind, praying to God that she won't find anything.

"wow madison, c'est tellement propre (wow madison, it''s so clean) " she said looking at me suspionsly and I did everything to avoid her gaze. This is the gaze she does to read me and everything I look at her gaze, I end up getting myself in trouble

"je suis fier de toi (im proud of you)" she said patting my head. She walked past me, going to Chloe's room and doing the same thing. After what felt like forever, she was heading to the door, me cheering in my head.

She than said that she forgot her phone in my bedroom and headed back

AND THATS WHEN EVERYTHING BLEW IN MY FACE.

She saw it. The ONLY POSTER I FORGOT TO TAKE DOWN. The one on the ceiling

"madison, pourquoi avez-vous encore des affiches de ce stupide boyband asiatique (Madison , why do you still have posters of these stupid asian boyband)" she yelled at me "je ne vous ai pas dit de jeter ces derniers il y a longtemps (didnt I tell you tho throw these out long time ago) "

I mentally cussed in my head, trying to find the best solution to not get in the biggest trouble.

"maman, s'il te plaît, calme-toi et écoute (Mom please clam down and listen) " I said anxiously

te souviens-tu de ce que je t'ai dit la dernière fois que si je trouve une autre chose inutile (you remember what i told you last time that if i find another thing useless) " she said, walking out the room.

To tell you the truth, I really don't remember but that's only because its been over 3 months since that conversation.

"Je vais demander à votre père de le configurer demain. tu ferais mieux de préparer et emballer (I'll ask your dad to set it up tomorrow, you better get ready and pack)" she said then opened the door and left.

"Shit shit shit" I mumbled pacing around, trying to calm my self and trying to remeber what the conversation was about last time.

I head to my room, flopping on the bed and staring at the poster that ruined everything.

"Ahhhhhhhh" I yelled into my pillow, until I felt satisfied.

"BTS, you'll be the death of me" I mumbled, still staring at the ceiling.

After what felt like eternity, I felt my phone ringing. I felt around for it and answered without looking at the caller id.

"Maddie, did she leave" I heard the caller said and I knew it was Chloe.

"Yea" I said back

"You sound depressed" she said "did you get in trouble again?"

And I didn't respond, just closed my eyes and nodded

"What did she find?" Chloe asked

"The poster on the ceiling" I said groaning

"Girl, its gonna be okay" She replied "She didnt do anything last time"

"I wish but I think this time is different" I said sighing "she told me to pack and everything"

"I think she is just trying to scare you" Chloe said

"You dont know my mother. Whatever she said she'll do, she does it" I said "listen, I got to hang up. Are you coming back tonight or not?"

"Nope. Im saying over at Max's

(her boyfriend) tonight. I'll be back tomorrow morning" She said

"Ok. Bye" I said hanging up

I got up and started packing my things. As I was half way done, my phone ranged

"Salut papa (hi dad) " I said waving to him during FaceTime and he waved back. Then placed it on the bed and continued to pack

While my dad was busy doing something as well.

"Madison, as-tu encore énervé ta mère? (Madison did you upset your mother again)" my dad and than chuckled

"Je n'ai rien fait cette fois papa. la seule chose qui s'est produite est qu'elle a trouvé une affiche au plafond puis elle m'a dit de faire ses bagages. (I didnt do anything this time dad. The only thing that happened was that she found the poster on the ceiling and than she told me to pack) " I said

"papa faites-vous où elle m'envoie à?

(Dad do you know where she is sending me to?)" I asked

"Ne lui dites pas que je vous l'ai dit mais elle m'a demandé de vous procurer un billet pour la France afin que vous puissiez rester avec votre tante pendant un moment. (Dont tell her that I told you but she asked me to get you a ticket to France so that you'll stay with your aunt for awhile)" Dad replied and I quickly picked up the phone

"Papa, s'il te plait ne m'envoie plus là-bas. envoie moi ailleurs, nulle part ailleurs. (dad please dont send me there again. Send me somewhere else, any where else) " I said looking at him with my pleading face

"ne t'inquiète pas ma petite fille, tu sais que je ne te ferai pas ça (dont worry my baby girl, you know I wont do that to you)" he said smiling at me, while I let out a sigh

"alors où est-ce que tu m'envoies? (So where are you sending me?)" I asked

"mon ami de l'industrie du divertissement a demandé une faveur, je vais donc vous envoyer là-bas (my friend from the entertainment business asked me for a favor, so i will send you there)" my dad reassured me and I gave the look for him to keep on going.

"c'est un secret mais ne vous inquiétez pas. tu vas l'adorer (it's a secret but don't worry you'lI love it)" he said smiling back at me

"mais papa ( but Dad)" I whined and he shook his head

"non mais madison, attendez et voyez

(No but madison, just wait and see)" he replied

"bien (fineee)" I said

"je dois aller aimer, je te verrai à l'aéroport demain matin ( I got to go love, I will see you at the airport tomorrow morning)" he said and I nodded

"bonsoir papa. À demain (goodnight dad, see you tommorow)" I said waving than the call ended

I resumed the music on my phone and BTS 'SPRING DAY' played. As I hummed along, I continued to pack.

"Tomorrow is gonna be a long day" I said to myself
