Chapter 5
Lilia’s Office
The following days.
Standing by the window is a man of about 6’3” tall. Anyone could tell that he is physically fit under those long sleeves he is wearing. He then immediately smile as Erika entered in.
“Erika, this is the man who’s going to fill my post while I’m away, Todd Howard.” Lilia introduced.
“Nice to finally meet you.” Erika reached out her hand for a handshake while keeping a forced smile.
After they were seated comfortably, Lilia discussed the necessary things regarding the business and some matters the two of them should handle while she’s away.
“I will bother you Erika to introduce him to the rest of the staff. I’ve got to go to the airport.” Lilia requested and hurriedly left the office leaving the two.
Erika inhaled deeply, “Well, shall we Mr. Howard?”
“Todd will do,” the man brightly smiled.
“Just Erika then,” and got up almost not allowing Todd to follow.
By the afternoon, Todd was able to properly introduced himself and met the staff in every department. He stayed the longest talking to the couple Grandpa John and Grandma Rosy, the florists.
By the end of the day, he was the talk of the company. He is well mannered that he was able to address the two notable florists as grandparents; he is good looking that he was the talk of all women and he has those eyes that shows he’s pleased to have met all of them. They also noticed his accent that told them he is not from the country.
“The look on your face says it all,” Rina commented.
“Says what?” Erika confusedly asked.
“Everyone can tell, you’re giving him the cold shoulder.” Rina whispered in her ear then went her way.
Erika didn’t notice that it’s that obvious.

“How was your day Your Highness?” Victor asked.
The prince reluctantly answer, “It was great... though the wedding planner seems not fond of me.”
“How is that so Your Highness?, the butler was confused as he’s serving the tea.
“I don’t know but she’s giving me a feeling of being ‘unwanted’.”
“Oh.” Victor could only wonder. “Maybe you have offended her in some ways Your Highness.”
Todd did not remember anything of that sort. “Maybe, I don’t know.”
Victor did not asked anymore question though confused.
“Come with me tomorrow ,” Todd commanded. “Be my assistant and just address me by my name.”
“But Your Highness...”
Todd did not let him finish what he’s about to say. “I’m no royalty here.”
Victor could only nod and did not object any further.
Before the night ends, Todd contacted the Queen through a video call.
“Maybe she’s not into good looking man.” The Queen commented while softly laughing.
Todd just told her how his day went.
“Well, I’m also not into a sophisticated woman.” The prince defended himself.
It only made Queen Margarett’s laugh sounded louder.
“I don’t know if I should be happy Mother that you are laughing or be mad for I sensed mockery and it’s irritating.”
Todd could hear someone burst out laughing, the King.
“Well my son, a day without laughter is a day wasted.” The Queen quoted.
Todd could just smile and later bid a farewell for it’s already late in the evening.
