Only You

Only You

She's Fall Asleep

"Huff...Huff..."

She woke up, her brown pupil dilated as sweat beads fall continuously on her face. The room is dark but a glint of light coming through the creak on the closed door. Well, her attention are not there, she clutched the clothes that cover her chest with her shaken hand.

Her whole body is shaken.

"...what is that..."

The words slipped out from her mouth, barely heard. She still shaken.

She just woke up from a nightmare that repeatedly visiting her slumber. The same dream that she could never remember. No matter how hard she pushed her brain to, she could never remember. But she knew, it was the same dream all over again.

"...shit..."

She is trying to catch her breath. Her shaken body makes it hard however. The sweat too, hasn't stop at all. That was how she knew it was the same dream.

Because the feeling that dream left on her were always the same.

It's terrifying.

There is no other words that can describe it. Scared. Hurts. Sadness. Broken. Sorrow. Lonely. Emptiness. Regrets. She is shaken to the core.

That's how that dream make her feels.

Yet, she doesn't know why.

She doesn't remember just what is happened inside that dream. Not a single thing.

"Damn it!"

Now, instead of clutching, her hand repeatedly whacking her own chest trying to make all that feeling gone.

"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!"

As she does that, her cheeks got wet. Not from the sweat, but by the water that drops from her eyes. It falls one after the other, and leaves mark on her blanket.

Her chest feels even more hurts than before.

And, yet, she still doesn't know why or how to stop that. She just keep whacking her chest over and over again, but that feelings still there.

PRANG!

She stops.

Finally, it took her back to the reality. All those feelings gone in a blink like they were never existed since the beginning. She sighed in relief.

Her eyes wandered to a small table beside her chamber. A small clock stood there with a small tick-tock sound. The shortest arrow pointing at 4 almost overlapping the longest one.

The thinnest arrow still moving second through second. Never too late, never too fast. It moves steady with the same pace all this time. Static. Just like her life. Or at least that was what she thought when she lets out another sigh.

PRANG!!!

She was lost in her dreams before, that she didn't pay attention to the sound. Now, she broke free already, she getting curious to what that sounds were in the first place, she tilted her head to the source.

She looks at the light coming through the door, and disappointment paint her face. She knew very well, what is that sounds about.

The disappointment quickly changed into detestation. It is as clear as bright sky on her face.

It looks like that man has came home. That disgusting pig. A male creatures that she hates from the bottom of her heart.

Her hands are now gripping the blanket. Tightly, so she can let out the hatred in her heart even for a bit.

She wants to escape.

By any means, she just wants to quickly escape. She hates breathing the same air as him.

She quickly descend from her chamber and moves swiftly. Her shabby pajamas has changed to a couple of shirt and skirt with similar color. It's just as shabby as the pajamas, but a little more presentable at least. After that, she grabbed an old bag lying on the table and strengthen her determination to open the door.

Burst of light blinding her eyes for a second but she quickly adjust to it.

Just as she has guessed, that man was there. He stood in the middle of the room with his body swaying around in his step.

"...oh...I sh...OulD... Should've..."

The smell of alcohol reeks out from his mouth. It keeps leaking out as he is muttering a lot of words that can't be understood. Only he knew, what he was saying.

She glared at him with worst mood. She always feel like she wants to puke at how disgusting he is to her.

Her despise to him are endless.

She was just about to sneak out when unfortunately that man catches her in his sight.

"...oh...loookkkk...whooo's hereee..."

He called out to her.

"... it's ourrr prettyyy little Arisseee..."

Just as he tried to reached for her, she swiftly move to another direction avoiding him.

But, a sudden headache almost make her lose her step.

"Urk..."

She looked up and shocked at another figure that overlapping that bastard.

A figure of young, fine man around his twenties.

"...to me, there are none others as pretty as you, Anastasia."

"...what?"

She never saw him before.

And just like that, that figure gone like an illusion. Leaving her in more confusion.

"Where are you going?"

Just when she tries to figures out what happened, another voice's being heard. It was a woman, so she turned around to face the voice source.

A stunning adult woman stood in front of her. She has the same brown eyes and the same black hair as her.

But she will never be the same as her.

That woman is beautiful...

...and she is not.

She looked up to meet that woman eyes.

"School of course, where else?"

She gave her answer nonchalantly.

That woman looked a bit shocked.

"School? At this hour? Are you playing with me?"

"Ugh, I am not." She quickly averted her eyes from her "I...I have a morning duty."

"Can't afford to be late, you know."

That woman seized her up with her disbelieving gaze.

She gulped and pray in her heart that she will buy her words and let her go.

"Didn't you also had a morning duty yesterday?"

"Errr...no." a bit hesitation mix in her words. "I was only helping a friend yesterday."

"..oOoOohh...seeeee...ouR...liTtle..aRise..."

"I gotta go....mom."

"...wait!"

Thanks to that, she managed to escape the questioning session.

She quickly moves her feet all the way to the front door without bating eye.

She open the doors and met eyes with the darkness.

The moon still hanging peacefully on the sky. She stared at the yellowish glowing orb among the dark sheet for a while before lets out another heavy breath.

The lights are bright enough to illuminate the road as she walks. It seems just as if the moon doesn't want her to be drowned in the darkness, thus lead her way.

But that girl, Arise, just walking in silence with her head hanging weakly on her shoulder. She doesn't look for directions, yet staring at the road as she walks. Her feet seems already knew where does she wants to go and brought her with ease.

She eventually stops after she reached a familiar gate made of iron. The bars stack on each other with mainstream design. Just then, then she raised her head and look up to the gate. She lets go of her backpack that cling unto her arms and threw it effortlessly. The bag made it's way past the gate with a thud sound.

After her bags safely landed on the other side, she starts climbing the iron gate by stepped onto the stacked bars one after the other and jumps to the ground on the next side.

She patted the dust from her clothes and pick up her bag again. She hold onto the strap and walk carelessly.

The guards must have been already went home to change shift.

The door to student washroom swung open when she pushed it. She went in front one of the sink and took a soap from her bag. The water feel cold to the skin. She look into the mirror for seconds, to her reflection that stared back at her.

The scar still there. She sighed and went into one of the ward.

She removed her uniform and hung it at the nail on the wall next to her bag.

The water flow heavily when she turns on the tap. She touch it gently and the coldness stung her skin, yet it feels so refreshing, as if it tries to wake her up.

...wake me up?

Sudden pain attacked her head again as darkness silently swallowed everything in her eyes.
