Chapter 4 - Who was he...

As he came out of the shop , still in flirtaious mood but then his friend Sam's call brought him back to normal" Bro where are you ?" asked Sam in worried tone " Actually I am in coff- bakery shop to buy some cupcakes for me ...just wanted to eat some" said Mendes as he did not want to disclose that he came to visit a girl and ask about her..."Cupcakes, at this hour...you surely an idiot ...nevermind I called to tell you that I am going to visit mom so I will switch off my phone today so that no one disturbs us ..Thought to tell you beforehand " said Sam in a hurried tone and cut the call...

"Uff .....Alrigh Mendes lets get back home and forget that girl because you are not going to get any information about her nor you will have anyone to spend today with...lets get back home and watch some movies" said Mendes to himself while switching off the lights of his phone from right hand and touching his hairs from his left one while looking at the cafe through its window and left a deep breath out and went back...

( AT THE TIME WHEN MENDES WAS BORN, HIS FATHER MET AN ACCIDENT WHILE COMING TO THE HOSPITAL . WHEN THIS NEW REACHED HIS MOTHER, SHE COULD NOT TAKE THIS SHOCK AND DIED DUE TO HEART ATTACK . THIS MADE MENDES ORPHAN AT THE TIME OF HIS BIRTH . WHEN SAM'S FATHER HEARD THE DOCTOR AND THE NURSE DISCUSSING ABOUT WHAT SHOULD THEY DO WITH THIS CHILD WHO LOST HIS MOTHER AND FATHER AT THE TIME OF HIS BIRTH , HE FELT PITY TOWARDS THAT BOY AND NARRATED THE STORY TO HIS WIFE , SAM' S MOTHER . SAM'S MOTHER SUGGESTED TO ADOPT THAT BABY WHO DELIVERED SAM A DAY BACK . THIS WAY SAM AND MENDES BECAME BROTHER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER . SAM'S PARENTS NEVER DISCRIMINATED BETWEEN BOTH THE BOYS . THEY WENT TO THE SAME SCHOOL , SAME COLLEGE AND DECIDED TO GO IN ARMY TOGETHER . BUT WHEN MENDES WAS TEN YEARS OLD HE HEARD HIS PARENTS SPEAKING THAT ALTHOUGH HE WAS NOT THEIR SON , HE SURELY HAD VERY NICE PARENTS AS ALL THE QUALITIES IN HIM MADE HIM AN IDEAL CHILD . THIS WAY MENDES CAME TO KNOW THAT HE WAS NOT THEIR CHILD BUT ADOPTED ONE BUT EVEN THOUGH HE CONFRONTED HIS PARENTS , HE NEVER DISREGARDED THEM BUT TOOK THEM AS THEIR OWN PARENTS...AFTER COMPLETING THE COLLEGE , MENDES AND SAM DECIDED TO LIVE THEIR LIFE ON THEIR OWN MONEY AND NOT TO BURDEN THEMSELVES ON THEIR PARENTS SO THEY SHIFTED IN A PLACE NEAR TO EACH OTHER ...BUT DUE TO AGE AND WEAKNESS , HIS MOTHER SUFFERED LOTS OF DISEASES WHICH MADE HER ADMIT IN THE HOSPITAL . TIME TO TIME MENDES AND SAM VISITED HER . ALTHOUGH HE WAS HAPPY IN HIS LIFE , BUT HE ALWAYS FELT LONELY AND WANTED SOMEONE WHOM HE COULD SAY HIS OWN . HE NEVER SHOWED HIS THIS SIDE TO ANYONE BUT WHENEVER CAME BACK HOME FOR A HOLIDAY , FELF LONELY AND ALONE IN HIS HOUSE . THIS WAS HIS INTERNAL FEELINGS BECAUSE HIS ADOPTED PARENTS NEVER SHOWED THAT THEY LOVED SAM MORE THAT HIM ).

He went to his regular snacks shop which he used to go since he was a kid . The owner of that shop was a lady in early sixties and considered Mendes like his son."Oh my Mendes , finally you came ..This time for how long will you be staying here boy ?" asked the lady in soft motherly tone ." Just a month gorgeous . I missed this smell so much aunt . Please pack my regular snacks which I take " said Mendes ..."Two packets popcorns , five beer bottles , chips and two dark chocolate pastries with one doughnut for my dear , anything else ? But you should not drink too much .... 'MY CHILD' " both said this in unision and started laughing as whenever he came to take snacks with beer bottles , she always used to repeat the same sentence again which made him remember this forever..

" So where is Steven?" asked Mendes to the old lady about his son.."Don't talk about that rascal , never helping me with my work , not interested in studies but whole day busy with his nuisance " said the lady in a casual tone as she was in a habit to run the shop alone and in a habit to face his son's stupidity...While Mendes was keeping all the snacks in a poly bag given by the lady with a small smile on his face as he was in a habit as well to listen her talking about his son like this..."No worry aunt , I am like your son as well . Call me whenever you need help .." said Mendes and came out of the shop after greeting the old lady...

ONE HOUR LATER ...

"Hmm so what should I see now ," said Mendes to himself sitting on the couch , relaxed , connecting his Netflix to his TV set and started searching movies..He was in a casual T-shirt and trousres with messy hairs all round his face ..He liked grey and black the most because of which most of his shirts,t-shirts,trousers and pants in his wardrobe were of these colours . He did not like wearing fance clothing but preffered normal shirts and t-shirts instead...

"Parasite...an oscar winning movie ...lets see why this movie won the oscar " said Mendes to himself and decided to watch this movie..
