Chapter 2

2 CODY RAZIEL LEE

At Cody's Room.

She slowly opened her eyes, feeling lightheaded after waking up from what almost felt like years. Her throat felt raspy as her eyes searched for a glass of water.

"Ugh!"

'What the hell happened?'

She continued to wander her eyes around the familiar room. Surely, this is the first time she's been here but the room felt so familiar.

'Where am I?'

She tried to stand up but her body felt heavy. It's like, a ton of heavy things is lying on top of her. She also felt a little weird. Didn't she had a deep wound on her neck? Then why can't she feel any pain? She doesn't even have any bruises on her body.

While she's still in a daze, the door suddenly opens. It almost made her jump out of the bed and throw the lamp at the door but she restrained herself.

She better not do anything unnecessary if she's on the enemy's territory.

"Cody? I heard what happened. Are you alright?"

A gorgeous man dressed in a black tuxedo walked inside the room. His looks are like that of a god came down from heaven. With a strong jawline and mesmerizing eyes, any girl who saw him will definitely drool. Not to mention his red kissable lips and pointed nose. But his looks had no effect on her.

"Hey, Cody. Are you done wool-gathering?"

He waved his hand in front of her. She looked at him weirdly. Why is this man calling her Cody?

"Why...am I...he..re?" She wanted to ask him some more questions but she can't because of the burning feeling in her throat.

The man noticed it and quickly left. When he came back, he has a glass of water in his hand and gave it to her. After drinking, she felt better. The burning feeling in her throat subdued.

"Did you forget? You were sent on a mission yesterday and got poisoned. Luckily, Amber was there and saved you."

A bunch of memories flashed in her mind. She can remember what Ash was telling her but it made her confused. Why can she remember the name of the man? Have they met before?

Didn't she die yesterday?

"C-can you g-give... me... a mirror?"

This time, Ash looked at her weirdly. Like she's an alien from outer space but he still obliged.

He handed her a mirror from the bedside table and she immediately accepted it.

From the first glace, she could tell that it's not her face anymore. Her blonde hair, brown eyes and her whole face was totally different!

"Hey! Are you okay?" Ash asked.

She nodded. But deep inside, she's really confused and rumbled out.

"Y-yeah... Can you please leave me alone for today? I want to rest first." She said.

Unsure, Ash gave her a quick look than did as she told him to. After he left she tried to stand up and check on herself.

From that moment, she knew one thing. She's reincarnated!

It's impossible if she had survived from being stabbed at the heart. And having memories of another person's life, being reincarnated is the only possible answer as to why she's in another body.

She stared at her reflection.

The woman in front of the mirror looks a lot different from her. From the black as ebony hair to the red soft thin lips. Everything is really different. She never knew such a person exists.

She slowly caresses her face. Such beauty can easily manipulate people. She wishes she could be this beauty in the past.

But now that she's the owner of the body, she doesn't know if she'll be happy or not.

The past owner had suffered and had been through a lot. She knew that because she has the past owner's memories.

When Cody was only 6 years old, her parents got murdered which leads her to be an orphan. And after a year, a couple adopted her, she thought that she won't be alone anymore but the couple sold her to an illegal institute where they train children to be assassins.

It's been hard for her to survive. But she's holding on to her only hope that she could get revenge for her parents when she gets older.

But after 10 years of training when she finally became one of the best assassins in their institute, an unexpected event occurred.

The institute was celebrating for the graduation of the assassins. Everyone was happily chatting and drinking because finally! They can live on their own and take real missions from the Mafia with profits.

But in the middle of the celebration, Cody was drunk and was feeling super hot.

It was too late when she realized she had been drugged by someone. It's all in a blur and she can't quite remember what the man looked like.

Everything happened in a blur. She just woke up the next morning, feeling an immense pain down there. And her head felt like being nailed a thousand times.

She's still recovering the past owner's memories so she can't remember the rest of what happened.

But the memories are enough for her to tell that Cody is a nice person in the past. Even though Cody had killed a lot of people, all of them did something extremely bad to others. Cody will never kill an innocent person.

Back to the present.

Her tears stream down her eyes without knowing the reason why. However, she immediately wiped it. Showing a sign of weakness won't do any good for her.
