Episode 5: Responsibilities

Head servant Leo: Miss Harika, is already home. She wants you to go down stairs.

He sighed for a moment and went straight down the stairs by wearing a dark blue sweater.

When his step at the third down tile stair, he can hear a loud sound from the kitchen with some arguing.

[ (not again) not again….]He used to live his whole life for the rest of his life with his older sister and mother. When his sister calls for him, there will definitely of arguing and noises in the kitchen.

“ NO!, I CAN DO THIS…OKAY..? this time I definitely cook the correct way. This spaghetti ketchup, basil, oregano,...god…I forgot ROSEMARY!!! Stress…but totally fine without it…” she kept saying that she can do it without anyone help.

Maid servant feels guilty standing behind her while look down their face.

[cough] he pretend to cough so the maid servant nod and dismissed after hearing familiar cough.

“ oneechan [older sister words in Japanese with very closer relationship] not again…what are you doing? What a mess..” he is very concern about what happen to his sister if anything happen to her also he know that his sister can burn up the kitchen.

[last year, harika tried to make a same dish but it end up burn]

“ I am playing the dough to throw on your face here….” She tease him while chop down the tomatoes into small dice.

“ oneechan, why don’t you let the servant make our lunch…?”

She stop what she doing and turn around with a serious face. ‘what the heck?...’ [startle] eh…oneechan… it just that…what I mean is….

“ will YOU S.H.U.T THE HELL UP…. I am trying to make our lunch. You…just sit there and wait….” With the effect burn around her body, when harika mad she only make a serious face and hold it.

‘so hot so hot….here we go again. She look scary….’

He feels so hot when his sister mad.

He slowly went to his seat, and pull out his seat with no sound, with a sharp glaring at her brother. She make a sign Zip on her mouth. Slowly she turn to her work to make a lunch.

“ now… I am trap” [sigh]

While at the hospital, nanami and kaisuki zumi talk with doctor about her mother condition.

“ have a sit “ doctor smile and asked them take a their sit.

“ thank you doctor “ kaisuki respond.

“ how’s my mother ? is she okay? Anything serious? “ she asked so many questions before doctor said anything.

Then she felt a warm hand hold her cold hand , she look at his face “ nanami, first let the doctor tell about aunty condition..anything will be fine. Okay? “ he smile and encourage nanami to let calm her self-down. She nodding her head and facing her face to the doctor.

“ is this your sister? “ doctor asking for the curiosity.

“ she is my neighbor next door “ he respond with no stuck.

“ your mother is actually fine, unfortunately…she’s had kidney cancer for the stage 3” doctor give sympathize expression look to his patient daughter and neighbor. “w…wh..what? cancer ? kid…ney? Stage 3?? No…” nanami in shock and with a blank in her mind, she stood up from her seat went outside of consultant doctor room.

“ doctor, I’ll be right back in a minute…”

Kaisuki run after her. He found nanami sitting on her face covered with her knees sitting next to the doctor’s door on the floor.

He squat down, rub her back and with close face on her. “ everything gonna be alright. We just need to work hard, find the solution, okay? Please don’t be like this. Aunty will be upset if she knew her beautiful daughter cry. You wait here, I’ll head back inside. Just have a sit on this chair. Okay? I’ll be right back. Wipe your eyes, with this….” He comfort her for not to be giving up, and offered her a napkin that he took out from his right pocket black jeans. She only silent after hear encourage words from her brother kaisuki.

He stood up, back into doctor room.

‘right, this is not the time for sad scene. All I need is don’t give up…mama…nazuki…brother…I will be strong and work hard!!’ she wipe her eyes with kaisuki napkin while waiting for the result.

“….please proceeds to counter reception for the payment…” end the conversation with doctor, kaisuki went out from the room and make a sign ‘wait’ to nanami.

She nodded her head.

Counter

Kaisuki: excuse me nurse, may I know about the payment for this patient name yukio namikaze?

Nurse: can I have the receipt?

He hand out the receipt to the nurse counter that handle the payment.

Nurse: for this patient sir, she need immediately payment for the surgery soon. It cost 2.8 million yen.

Nanami stare at kaisuki with worried about the payment.

Kaisuki: thank you nurse.

He head towards to nanami with a small bitter smile. “Everything gonna be alright. We just need to stay calm and wait for the miracle” while he hug her.

Nanami steal the receipt from the back pocket kaisuki have. “ brother kaisuki, I need to go somewhere else. Just wait mama, tell her don’t worry about me” with a gentle-tone she asked him to wait her mother.

“Where are you going? I’ll go with you...”

“No, I need to meet my friend Mituko. I forgot to give her book that I borrowed from her last time [I am sorry brother, I need to see this what you hiding from me. Because this is my big responsibility for me]” with a smile on her face.
