Liu Wei irked, this person was so impolite, not even asking please. Zhang Li started massaging his shoulders, trying to calm him down. Since Liu Wei was taking too long, Zhang Li reached out, and opened the door. Ding Xiang tumbled in, originally leaning on the door.

“Saying we should respect him… does he even know the meaning for respect? Why would anyone in their right mind respect him?”

He was so cute! He had slightly chubby cheeks, neck length ivory hair, and sparking round eyes. His skin was so milky and smooth, he wanted to touch it. His eyes were so green and pretty, it looked like emeralds.

“Oi! Why are you here? Why ain’t you at the imperial palace!”

Zhang Li frowned, Ding Xiang mentally doting and trying to make it a smile.

“You also have green eyes, why are you here?”

Ding Xiang looked shocked, how did the little boy know what he was thinking?

“Your face expressions are really obvious.”

Zhang Li hid and covered himself in Liu Wei’s hair. Ding Xiang brought out his arms, and cried. He was probably mentally asking for a hug, but knew he would be rejected beforehand. Surprisingly, Zhang Li hopped down from Liu Wei and hugged Ding Xiang’s torso.

The older man suddenly cried when he was hugged. No one had hugged him before. Everyone was too busy with running the palace, and focused all their attention on the first prince.

Even his mother the empress never hugged him, only doting on his older brother. He was always the second choice, and the one left behind. Even if he was better than his older brother, all his efforts were seen as showing off, or signs of early rebellion. He was despised, and even mocked by the servants.

Although he was mocked, it was always behind his back, which hurted more. They were all two faced, and acted respectful right after coming out from their gossiping groups. They were always late, and used some excuse that even he knew was invalid. The worst thing was that they were late, because they were trying to flirt or gain approval from his older brother.

His older brother was an angel. He disapproves of these methods, but when humans see a way to power, they don’t care about anything else. His older brother, although he was a prodigy at everything, and everyone loved him, he didn’t want to become emperor. He was the only one who talked to him with his free will. But was it his free will? What if he was doing it to see if his younger brother would try to take the throne? Was he really an angel. The maids that served him seemed like a white lotus, but they were scheming and evil.

It was almost like his older brother will become a god, so everyones trying to gain favour. What if his brother dies? He won’t have any idea how to rule a palace.

That made him think, if he was the second brother, how was his 3 other brothers going to survive in the cruel palace? He tried talking to them, but they all seem determined to grow up and become an adult in a child’s body.

When he does any activities, he has never been given a legit compliment. They were all mocking or fake. Maybe even both.

“Wow, he won. Trying for attention right?”

“Oh he lost! Isn’t he supposed to be amazing, being second in the line for succession?”

Although he was swarmed with all these comments, he didn’t cry.

He didn’t know why he should cry. He loved crying, but could he afford to?

“En, you don’t need to cry, and you should return to the palace now.. they’re probably going here because you have a tracking device on you.”

“I lied, I don’t have a tracking device on. The emperor won’t even look for me.”

Liu Wei suddenly grabbed Zhang Li by the collar, and lifted him up.

“You know, you can cry all you want, but don’t cry here, cry outside. I’m not cleaning the floor for you.

“B-but…”

Ding Xiang suddenly cried waterfalls, onto the floor that Liu Wei had just cleaned.

Liu Wei clenched his fists, then opened the door, and kicked Ding Xiang out.

“Oof”

A noise came from outside.

“Come back when you finish crying. Hurry up, the noodle soup is getting cold.”

The crying noise stopped, Ding Xiang wiped the remaining tears and ran back inside the house. He looked like a puppy, when Liu Wei served him a warm bowl of noodle soup.
