Don’T Do This, Your Majesty!
There is something special about the maids of the Crown Prince’s Palace.
The workers of the palace used to say this in unison; the fellow maids who worked together at the Crown Prince’s palace, the knight who guards the palace, and even the maids of another palace who had only seen her face a few times.
Who is the “maid” here?
Rosetta Mayfield, a woman who recently entered the palace and became the exclusive maid of the Crown Prince.
Rosetta was beautiful. Her reddish hair was as fresh as a summer rose in bloom, and her blue eyes shimmered red like the sea in the sun. It wasn’t a standard image of a beautiful woman, but it had an eye-catching charm.
She was very tall, had long legs, and straight posture, like an educated lady of the Baronetcy of Mayfield.
However, somehow, she looked as upright and taut as a knight, not as elegant and graceful as a ‘noble lady’.
Her smiling eyes were especially beautiful, so the knights would wait for Rosetta to pass by and help her with anything.
But the reason she was called a “special maid” was not just because of her origins or appearance.
There was something more famous than that.
Rosetta! In front of you!”
“Huh??”
Bang!
Despite the knight’s desperate cry, Rosetta had hit her head on the tree. It made a pretty loud noise, and she fell on her back.
This week alone was the third time.
She slipped in an empty corridor yesterday and fainted the day before yesterday when another maid accidentally threw a tray. Because of that, Rosetta had to be taken to the room over and over again.
This was the reason why she became famous. That terrible weakness that collapses whenever opportunity arises. She fainted so often that she was given a nickname; Sunfish.
“Is such a beautiful woman from a baron family of Korean, an aristocrat?”
“She will be leaving in less than a month.”
“I can’t keep quiet if she causes damage many times.”
Shortly after Rosetta’s entrance, the maids would click their tongues and gossip about her. It was natural for them to be short-handed when their fellow maid was away.
But in just a month, the maids became fond of Rosetta. Even though there was nothing special about her, Rosetta strangely attracted people.
She was injured and left her seat all the time to match her nickname; the Sunfish, did more than required. They wanted to take care of her because she was so nice to everyone.
Above all, the biggest reason for changing their minds was that Rosetta took on the most complicated task.
What it was, was the work of a maid exclusively.
“She is the exclusive maid of Armund Baldwin Don Lagnard, the mad crown prince.”
Rosetta volunteered for the job, most of them ran away in three days, and even after a week, but she did not bring up the “retirement” of her resignation. The maids, who were freed from the crown prince’s service, massaged Rosetta’s shoulders every night in praise of her. Thanks to her, the knights, who had less to do after the crown prince, also offered her various snacks for their gratitude.
Rosetta, a special maid, was always laughing in spite of all the circumstances.
It’s until one day she met the assassin of the Crown Prince.
“What are you doing?”
Rosetta, with her red hair neatly tied up, asked, with her head tilted. Her blue eyes sparkled with pure doubt.
She saw something weird.
A while ago, Tom, a servant assigned at the Crown Prince’s palace, hid a sharp dagger under the tray he brought to the Crown Prince.
And the prince’s knight, Gerald, who stood beside him, certainly saw it, only nodded, but took no particular step.
Witnessing all this, Rosetta opened her eyes wide again.
“Are you sure you’re going to stab him with that?”
Tom and Gerald briefly exchanged glances at the naive and stupid question.
That’s too bad, she is a pretty good girl.
“Sorry, Rosetta.”
They liked the special maid, too. There weren’t many men who hate stupid beauty in the first place.
However, it’s a sign now.
“Those who see things that must not be seen, must die.”
There was no one around, so there was nothing to worry about.
Tom quickly pulled out his dagger and rushed to Rosetta. Like a skilled assassin, his movement was neat and clean.
The dagger aimed at the weak woman’s vital spot in an instant, and a shuddering sound rang quietly, and the red lashes fluttered weakly.
“Let’s put her away and leave.”
Gerald said, looking around as if he was annoyed, but no answer was heard. Instead, he could only hear the sound of popping and falling to the ground.
As Gerald, puzzled, turned his head, an amazing scene appeared in his sight.
Rosetta was standing in front of him.
She was beautiful but a weak maid who was given the nickname; “the sunfish of the palace” or “the special rose.”
However, unlike the woman who always wore a beautiful smile, the woman in front of him was horrifyingly indifferent. Her clear eyes, which seemed to be stupid, sank calmly and glowed cold.
Gerald felt the faint energy from her gaze. It was sharp and murderous like a well forged sword.
Behind her, he saw Tom’s body stretched weakly on the ground.
Gerald leaned down in a hurry. The sound of the wind rang in his ears. It was the sound of a sharp blade passing by where his neck was.
“Oh, your skills are pretty good.”
Rosetta evaluated it with her eyes closed. It was that smile that Gerald usually considered beautiful, but now that she had a sword in her hand that killed his comrade, it looked creepy.
“Why use that good skill for assassination?”
Gerald wanted to say something more, but he couldn’t because he was attacked so suddenly that he didn’t have time to move his lips.
Rosetta, who murmured regretfully, moved her body with a relaxed expression. Her attitude was relaxed, and her movements were so small that he couldn’t tell what she was doing from a distance. But every hand movement was accurate and fierce. The energy contained in the small dagger was so powerful that Gerald, the top assassin, could not handle it.
He has never met such a talented person in his life, let alone handle it.
‘That’s ridiculous, how could she…!’
How could a 20-year-old girl and a maid from the baron family of Korea, be such a powerful person?
Gerald couldn’t believe it, so he chewed on his lips. However, no matter how hard he bit, the reality in front of him didn’t change, and realizing that it was impossible to deal with her any more, he hurriedly tried to run away.
Even if he didn’t win, fleeing and hiding were his specialities. So far, no one was able to follow his shadow.
Fortunately, Rosetta did not scream and announce the presence of the assassin. Gerald continued to speculate, appreciating her stupidity.
‘Is she possibly an escort knight secretly assigned by the prince?’
If so, all the assassins sent to the Crown Prince recently disappeared in silence…
