Chapter 5

"This bastard was trying to reach Sofie," I answered to my father before he could even ask anything. He called a guard who made his way through the corridor and pulled Daniel up.

Without anybody noticing, I took both of the potions from him.

"Good work dear," Father said looking at me. " Take him away!" he ordered the guard.

Daniel shot me an angry glare. His eyes were filled with confusion and betrayal. He didn't utter a word nor did he try to free himself.

A small part inside me believed that he'll understand.

The guard left with him and my dad continued his morning walk.

After he left, I went to Sofie's room. She was still asleep, but luckily her lips were a bit open as always. I poured the blue potion into her mouth carefully, holding her head with my right hand and emptying the bottle with the other. Sofie sleeps deeply like a pig so I don't have to be afraid of her waking up suddenly.

I inhaled deeply when I succeeded and sat beside her. I felt guilty to do that to Daniel.

Now, the only thing I wanted was to release Daniel from this Nihan family.

After Sofie woke up, She jumped slightly in surprise as she saw me sitting beside her.

"Do you still love Daniel?" I asked right away. It was surprising that I asked that question before asking how she was.

"No! No!" She almost yelled and her eyes widened.

Sofie explained how everything happened accidentally and I told her all about my little escape or I guess you could call it an adventure now.

"Then why did you get him caught?" She questioned.

"Well, that was the best thing to do."

"He will be very angry."

"Nope. He won't."

"Why?"

"I kinda know that he'll understand me."

"Someone's in love." She teased and her voice changed from normal to annoying. "I never thought anyone could be so nice to you. You know, the reason why I hated you is because you always compromise. I know you want to keep others happy, but you shouldn't sacrifice your happiness. You should probably tell Zen everything. Tell him the truth."

"I can’t. He won't understand." Was she crazy? Well, her ideas were.

"Well, then don't, because he already knows everything." Sofie pointed behind me.

My eyes and mouth widen at the sight of my husband as well as my best friend, Zen.

"W-when did you come here?" I asked, still shocked.

He let out a little laugh.

"The moment you gave her that blue liquid."

"Zen, I can explain everything-"

"No need for explanation." His eyes wandered a little, "I’m your childhood friend. I’m not blind, Amy. I knew that you weren't happy with the marriage, but I never thought you hated me that much to run away," He stated, his voice sounded so sad and full of pain.

I never really hated him. I just... I just don't know what was going inside me.

The only thing I did was cry. No words came out of my mouth. I just wanted to cry myself out.

~3 months later

Seeing me dancing with Daniel. Livia and Zen teased me. I couldn't help, but blush.

Zen and I divorced yet here we are, celebrating my sister's engagement on Valentine's day like nothing happened.

"Amy, I brought a gift for you. It's that pink potion. So go make your wish come true," Daniel whispered into my ear.

He didn't know anything about my divorce. Still, I nodded and took the bottle from him.

For a while, I avoided Daniel. My sister's engagement party went great. Everyone ate dinner, laughed and enjoyed every moment they could.

While eating I offered Daniel some orange juice. Although he didn't drink it and kept it on the table nearby. He drank the ones offered by other ladies but never touched mine.

I tried to act normal and not get angry at him. After all, it's his choice.

After dinner, I finally gathered my courage and went to the balcony to meet Daniel.

"So, did he drink it?" He asked me with excitement.

Why is he still stuck on that?

"About that..." I started, taking a deep breath and said, "we divorced."

His eyes widened, then squinted. "What did you do with the potion?"

"I threw it away." I turned my gaze away from him.

He’s stupid. He’s an idiot.

I can't help getting angry and heart broken at the moment. I tried my best to control myself from breaking down.

Out of nowhere, he pulled me into a hug.

"Are you angry because I didn't drink the juice in which you threw that potion?" I felt my heart skip a beat.

He knew! He knew it!

"Why did you add that in my drink?" He asked, putting his index finger under my chin, making me look at him.

"Do I have to tell you?" I was still looking down.

"Yes!" He said, making our lips meet and pulling me closer by holding my waist.

Breaking our kiss, he slowly whispered, "I want to hear those words."

"I love you, stupid Cupid."
