Do you know when they say that babies are gifts from heaven well I don’t know if to say it was a miracle or destiny? Hi, my name is Abraham and this is the story of the baby I saved. It happened, in Austin, Texas at 8:20 AM. America the land of opportunity and home of the brave. Like any other day, it was morning; I always had set my alarm clock for 7:20 AM to give me an early start at my day going to school. 

I was a senior almost to the end of my high school life. and at the start of my college life and I wanted to be a technological scientist of the environment. Everything was going good and today I was excited because today I would be getting my scholarship to the M.I.T university and that’s what I was thinking about heading over to the school. 

Today was the day that would greatly change my life and open the doors of the promised land or so I thought anyway. Before I left my home I very carefully made sure that I had everything for school. After all, today was a very big opportunity for me and one that I could use to help send money to my family. Providing for my family was something that was brought on by my father. My father Otilio Rodriguez reminded us as boys that it is the responsibility of the man to help provide for the family.

    I proceed to walk outside and lock the door to my apartment. I then get in my car and drive to Crockett. As I park my car I notice a very large crowd surrounding my school building. This girl I know named Gaia was probably one of the smartest people I knew. There was something strange about her she was holding something? Small in her hands I didn't know what it was and everybody was screaming like crazy and then it happened. what I never believed happened and I saw with my own eyes she killed herself and for some reason, the small object she was holding got stuck in one of the letters of the school and without even thinking about it. I caught and realized it was a baby I didn't know what to do at that moment so I just ran like an Olympic gold medalist to my parent's home and when I reached the house, I was still holding the baby.

The one to notice this was my little sister Yadira and told my family and they panic like if I was in a court and my mom is the judge my sister and my dad are the juries and I am the guy who is found guilty so I told them what  happen and they calmed down but we still don't know what to do with this baby my mom said “well we should keep him” i said “what are you crazy this is not even my child” “well you cannot just leave it all around in the street to die I didn't raise you up like that to be heartless and so selfish” and I say “but what about my future and my whole life i just can’t let it go for just this baby that not even mine this is just dead weight that is going to interfere with my plans and I think the responsible thing to do is to give it to the authorities and make sure that they take care of this and not get in trouble that will get me into jail also this is considered  kidnapping” and then my dad comes into the living room and with a face of anger and sadness said that I was right and I felt happy because I felt that I just missed a lost bullet
