The man downstairs listen to them and sighed as he put the milk cartridge and cat down.

'They will respect suru's family...her culture and the value system she belongs to' the father said while looking at her and making her understand his ideals.

The man below serves the milk to the cat in the cat's bowl outside, just when he was pouring the milk two fair slim hands with long fingers and nails emerged from inside the house.

She grabbed the man's shoulder from behind and pressed her body on his back.

'Good morning' she said while hugging him intimately from behind.

Her curly dark hair with red highlights falling loosely on her shoulders. Her hands move towards his chest muscles as she kept pressing herself on him.

'Morning' the man replied while turning his face sideways towards her while she was hugging him.

Girl dragged him back inside the room intimately with a naughty expression on her face as she keep hugging him.

The man was a little amused and let her drag him inside as he closed the door back again.

Just then the phone rang upstairs and the father pickd up the phone 'hello'

'yes, yes this is Jayram speaking'

He moved towards the window in front of him with a little excitement and happiness on his face 'yes, go on'

'I see'

'I see' his happiness started fading away.

'I see' the excitement and happiness was gone just then the mother got closer to him towards the window worriedly.

He cut the call and his face was rigid again.

He looked at her and said 'The boy's family cancelled the visit' with a solemn expression.

Just then suru opened her room's gate and looked at them. She was wearing a blue suit hairs still braided and messy her sister followed after her and came out of the room.

Her sister was wearing a pink Frock-suit* with white leggings with her long black hair loosely open she stood behind suru.

Suru looked at her mother with a little surprise.

'Cancelled?' sister said while standing behind suru her face was showing her suprise and disappointment.

'But why?' the mother asked father her face still worried.

The man moves towards them from the window ' his mother made a list of 10 girls to visit for marriage since the boy was in US'

He keep walking towards them 'he liked the first one he met so why hurt our daughter by coming here.'

He looked at mother ' that's what they said'

He then looked at suru and she turn her face away to hid her sadness her sister put her hands on her shoulder to give her support and sympathize with her.

'Pack suru's and my lunch' he said while looking at the mother.

'I will drop her at the library and head to the office' he turn back walked towards his room.

'But... office?' mother stopped him on his way and asked surprisingly ' Didn't you take leave today?' she said as he move towards his room.

' There's no occasion to take a leave anymore' he said as he entered his room.

The ladies enter the room.

Mother was tidying up the clothes while sitting on the bed.

Suru open the almirah to take out her casual clothes to change back to it.

'Mom...' little sister jumped on the bed and grabbed mother's hand.

' The boy didn't turn up... What does that mean?' she asked mother her voice showing her anger.

'Shh... Speak softly' her mother Indicates her widening her eyes.

' your father will overhear you 'she looked at the door to check whether the father is near or not.

'Does this mean my marriage to Ajay has been postponed again' she said with utter disappointment in her eyes and anger as suru fixed her suit standing in front of the mirror.

Standing in front of the mirror suru wore her glasses as the sunlight shone on her face. She stared at the figure in the mirror trying her best to ignore the conversation that was going behind her to prevent herself from more sadness.

' Look, kavita I have told you a thousand times' mother holds kavita's arm while explaining her.

'Suru is elder to you. She will get married first. You can't get married until then. Why don't you understand' mother explained her as suru pick up her hand bag and started moving towards the door.

'Don't argue with me on this again and again' mother warned her in a soft voice while pointing her finger towards Kavita.

Kavita was disappointed and sadness welled in her eyes and her nose turn red.

Kavita stood up and turn towards suru 'why don't you search for a boy yourself?' she shouted stopping suru from exiting the room with her voice full of anger as tears welled up in her eyes.

'Is it only our responsibility?' she asked again with anger clear in her voice but somewhere she was just upset, sad about the situation.

Mother face palmed with disappointed she looked tired as she has seen this scenario again and again.

'There's a difference between searching for someone and finding someone' suru counter kavita hiding her own sadness.

'It's not that I don't have crushes but if that person doesn't reciprocate then what can i do about it?' Suru said as kavita wiped her tears standing in front of her.

'I'll have to depend on my family to find a suitable boy and settle me down' suru reasoned with kavita.

'tch' suru turn back and got out of the room hiding her sadness.

Suru leave through the front door with her father towards the lift. Father pressed the button to call the lift and they waited but there was no response from the lift. The lift was not coming up.

'This lift too... Waste of time' Father was irritated.

'Come, suru' he said while turning back towards the stairs. He climbed down the stairs with suru following behind him.

As they were about to reach the floor below father stopped few steps before the staircase ends and was stunned and anger filled his eyes.

'What's going on here...'
