Sabrina's POV

"I brought you chicken porridge, please eat" mom's desperate voice was heard. I nod and gave her a smile.

It's been few days i'm at the hospital and today is the second time mom and Steve came. I've never been so happy and i've been better. At first, mom almost fainted when she saw my condition. The bruised and all but it is healing a lot faster than i think due to the treatment here. Maybe because i'm in the 'VIP room'.

Victoria planned to visit me today and Kash is sitting at the couch in the mini living room doing his job without interrupting us. Ryder insisted me to have someone that he trust in the room and guards outside the room.

At first, i thought it is too troublesome to do that but a certain dream came flashing into my mind make me agree more with his idea. Speaking of Ryder, he has something urgent to do in the office and he would come to me as soon everything is settle. Guilt consumes me. I should be working right now but here i am....

By the way, I also have some important questions to ask him but maybe later.

Then, the door creak open. I jumped and starts to panic as i grab mom's hand.

"Honey what's wrong?"

Then, an annoyed Steve came in with 4 tin of cans around his arms.

"What's wrong?" Mom asked.

"Hey sis, Do they need to always check on me every time i went out and in this room. I just bring in 2 lemon tea and 2 cokes, not that would harm" he protested as i flinched he said the word 'sis'.

Mom stares at me long, she realised it.

"Totally fine" i replied short.

"It may be poison in the can. No body knows.." Kash interrupt from the living room and Steve groan. He walked to Kash and hand out the can and he thanked him while grinning.

"Well you should try it out first whether it's poison or not. So, if anything happen you're the one who died first" Steve mocks him.

"Steve.." mom warned him.

She is not fond with someone that is rude to other that is older from our age. It's not a good manners to practice. She always said that our attitude reflects what is inside here. Our heart.

"Yeah Steve...Listen to mom" Kash mocked him back.

I laughed meanwhile Steve groan harder as he walked to me giving the can.

"Lemon tea? You know my favourite" i said.

"Of course i know your favourite. I am your brother after all" he winked at me. My body froze as i flinched.

"You okay Sabrina?" She asked with a clueless Steve besides. I can sense Kash glances for few times at me.

"Yes, never been better"

"You sounds opposite than better" mom exclaimed.

"I'm fine. You need to worry about yourself more. I am fine. Totally!" I said reassuringly as she shrugged.

Hours had passed. Mom and Steve went back home and promised me to come tomorrow again. We bid goodbyes and now it left Kash and me in this room.

"I like your brother" Kash said short.

Even though they just met in a short time, i can sense they bonded immediately even though they always fight all the time.

"I'm sorry. He's not gay"

Then, straight forward his face turns red, disbelief and i laughed.

"I'm not GAY!" He said in defence as i laugh. He groan.

"I am a healthy love-opposite-gender man. Don't say something nonsense like that!" He groan even more while covering his face.

Then, a knock on the door startle us from our talk. Our eyes divert to the door suspiciously. Who would come this late except for Ryder but Ryder informed me that he may be late around 9p.m.

The door opened and one of the body guard came in.

"Kash there is someone eagerly wants to meet with Ms Tyson. It's pass the visitor's hours" the guard seems anxious and i heard a woman voice blabbering behind the door.

"Ryder make sure of it there is no visitor after 6. Just asked that person to go back and come back tomorrow" Kash said firmly to the bodyguard.

"Yes-"

"Wait!!" I stopped them. This voice is very familiar. Then, realisation hits me. What on earth! I forgot about her.

"Please let her in. I forgot that my friend is visiting me today" i said as my heart beats faster.

"You can't. Ryder doesn't allowed-"

"Please Kash. She's an old old old friend of mine. She won't harm me. Period" i must get ready with all the loud screeching voice of her and prepare to be deaf.

"I can't allowed that. It's Ryder command towa-"

"I really want to meet her. So please! She makes me happy and i am bored" i whined like a stupid kid. What a stupid excuses. Bored?

"My best friend is half dead and been kidnapped by some monster! So you tell me, i can't see her?!"

Veronica's voice was heard loud and i mentally want to laugh from it.

Kash stares at me long enough and he sighed. He crossed his arm and push his hair to the back, maybe regretting his decision.

"15 minutes"

"Thank you! By the way, why were you so tense? It's not that she's going to harm me or what" Period.

"It's not that...if myself, i wouldn't mind as long as you knew that person but this is Ryder we are talking about. He put a strict command and demand no suspicious visitors meeting with you. No visitors after pass the meeting hours. Bodyguards 24 hours and female doctors/nurses only required in this room. If he knew this, he would be mad"

I shrugged and rolled my eyes.

"Never mind, 15 minutes is enough" i said defeated. After Veronica came inside, i would negotiate more and more time. I mentally grin.

Kash asked the guard to let Veronica entered and this fuming woman walked in with her working attire like a crazy mad person.

"What is the meaning of this! I don't care if it's late, i want to meet my best friend. That's all. Not that hard. Simple. Dot!" She walked in with a bouquet of flower and a paper bag on her hand as her eyes divert to me. Our eyes met.

"Sabrina.." her facial expression changed.

"Hey...i'm alive...yayy" i put a fake enthusiasm on the 'yayy' part.

She came to my bedside and hug me softly and a quiver voice was heard escaped from her lips.

"You're not alive. You're half-dead"

I gave in a small smile while patting her back. Then, she let go of me. We chat for a bit and i stopped our conversation immediately.

"Before that, i want to introduce you with my friend over here. Kash. This is Veronica. Veronica, this is Kash" both of them glance at each other and suddenly this loud woman seems quite. Same as Kash. Awkward tension in this room.

"Nice to meet you" Kash break the silence as i saw his eyes glance to Veronica hard. He came forward to  her and lift his hand to shake.

"Nice meeting you too" Veronica shake his hand immediately. Then, this dumbo woman really can't hide her red blush face. I elbowed her waist and she gasp.

Kash chuckle and went to the living room to continue whatever work he needs to finish.

"So, is he your plus one?" Veronica whisper.

"No! He's my boss' other Personal Assistant" i said.

"So where is the minister?" He shoot me questions.

"He's at work?" I replied in a 'duhh' tone.

"Is Kash single?" she continued.

I gave a 'are you kidding me' look at her.

"What?"

I sighed. "I'm not sure but he looks...seems...single to me"

Then, Veronica glance at Kash for multiple times. So, she has a crush on him. To be frank, i'm okay with it. Kash is a good guy after all, plus he is good looking but i don't want to push the conversation too much cause i know Ver really have a crush to any handsome guy that she met. Then, after few days she would forget about it.

"How's your bruised. Your mom said it's pretty bad. By the way i bought you this..." she handed me a cute paper bag. I took the bag and took out a box of chocolate in a heart shape with ribbon on top of it. There is a a bouquet of flower that stated on it,

'Get well soon'

"Thank you so much, Ver. It means a lot. You must be tired for all the work and came all the way to here" i said touched.

Then, i realised, there is another box in the paper bag, it seems like a japanese lunch box. Her expression changed. She's excited for me to open it now. I took it out excitedly and a wide smile came across my lips.

"Open it!" She said crazily.

I opened the clip of the lunch box and the moment i opened it,

Sushi!

Both of us squeal like bimbos excitedly. Sushi is our favourite food! Whenever we feel sad or happy, we would go eat sushi. Our squeal of excitement might be loud that it makes Kash's flinched. His pen fell down and he glanced at us while groaning.

We chuckled apologetically.

I am so happy that my tears starts streaming down silently. Tears of happiness to be free and to be happy. We ate together, taking some silly selfies as Veronica put a caption 'my beautiful half dead best friend', played some kid's hand sign games on the hospital's bed together and laughing so hard. Rock-Paper-Scissor and Hand Clapping games.

It feels like when we're in high school.

We didn't realise that it's 9:30p.m. That the door opened frantically. There he is, that person itself stares at us in disbelief and i can sense anger resurface in him.

We're dead.
