Sabrina POV

I am so stupid in agreeing to pay everything by the end of this month, all of my saving and my salary wouldn't be enough for that. I inserted the coins in the vending machine and took the mineral water. I walked back to my offic and suddenly my cellphone vibrate and i opened the message, its a message from the bank. Its a transfer payment to my account.

7000 dollars.

Mom. She helps me to pay dad's debt. Its not enough but she helps a lot. She doesn't need to do that. She works so hard for us. Mom works as a senior clerk at a police station, New York. I asked her to quit and rest cause i can took care of Steve's school but she insisted that Steve is her responsibility, not me but now she had to carry dad's burden too. I sigh.

I continue to do my work while watching the evening news from my desktop. Kill times, sometimes i would open any biological knowledge from any medical websites. Well, knowledge never stop. My eyes lingers to the screen. Its weird and rare for politician to step down from their position without election campaign or any particular important occasions. Its so sudden and its weird. I increased the volume.

Then, the middle age beard man went down from the stage escort by his bodyguards to his luxury seat. All the ministers are there. Few seconds later, the minister of defence went up to the stage.

Fyi, this man is the most controversial minister in U.S. because he's the son of the president, United States of America and he is the youngest among other ministers. He's 35. He's brilliant due to his advanced achievement in a young age and the most popular minister among women. He's handsome, has strong features and polite even though sometimes he is scary.

I can sense power lingers around him. He took the mic and starts his introduction speech. All people respect him dearly, even the other older ministers too. He has long black hair up to his neck that is tie properly at the back. Like i said before, he is the most controversial minister because of his long hair. He wears a navy suit that attached gold black name tag on it and grey tie. He is perfect in his own way. Ash Isaac Alexander.

The Alexander family is a fortune. Old money family. His father is the president for 7 years. His family owned the biggest weapon and technology company that supply throughout the world. AlexanderWT.Corp.They are like the next Rothschild Family for goodness sake.

The best part is their families are so freaking good looking and most of them have the same kind of features. Its like, people would know that they are related. Why i know all of this? Mom works at a police station, so basically the police, military, navy and any other war organisation is under his control. So, all of her officemate really talked a lot about this.

Then, there is a guy stood up from the seat came up to the stage, escorts by bodyguards each sides. This guy wears black suit with grey tie, same as Isaac. He looks muscular from the back. When he arrived on the stage, i would swear to god, he will be the next most popular minister ever.

He is so handsome and a mini copy of Isaac Alexander. He has the same aura as him but he is more....what can i say... dominant and far more scary. His seriousness and the sharp confident stares of him...something off about him. His hair is dark brownish unlike Isaac and his hair is wax to the back naturally. They zoom him up close that i can see the colour of his eyes, its dark brown as same as his hair.

He's clean shave but i can see a bit stubble here and there. He's perfect. Oh gosh, i never been into politics before.. He's a freaking living god walking earth. What am i saying?!

"....and I would like to announce you our new deputy minister of defence!...."

He stands besides Isaac Alexander that are grinning non stop and i can sense no amount of nervousness in him. All confident.

Ryder POV

The ceremony is done. That shit really exaggerate things during the speech. He fucking grinning at me. I'm at the meeting room waiting for him to finish his work. All the handshakes are really annoying. I adjust my Armani suit and I heard the luxury meeting room door opened.

"Who the **** are you to make me wait. I dont-..."

A familiar man with his P.A. besides are standing by the door. He looks at me with proud but i can sense guilt in his face.

" I'm proud of you, son." he said softly. His strong voice is still there. Never change.

"Father.." i nod.

I don't need to meet this good for nothing father. I walked to the door. Im doing this for the sake of Isaac and for myself. Not him and this stupid money sucker of family. There are things that far more important than him. A certain woman cross my mind as possessiveness surrounds me. I walked pass through him.

"There's plenty of room. Come home" he said.

"I have my own place but thank you" always so formal.

Our conversation is not like a father and son but we are more to strangers. I walked pass through him and his P.A. gives me his concern look. **** me! I push the elevator button and goes inside.

I accepted this position to make sure that I have the right amount of power. People will listen to you if you are at the top. I have the access to control everything.

The police, military, navy and most important, The underground. The underground is a legal  top secret organisation that was form by my father that is currently lead by my brother, Isaac. So, all this organisations are under the ministry of defence.

People who deal illegally by buying stocks of the weapons or illegal works would be hunt by people like us. In a simple way to say, people like Sabrina is far fucking way out of her league. That's why thet wanther. We're ruthless and crazy. We assassinate people without any trace. Zero. So, we are all called the underground assassins differ from the upperground assassins that focus on the nation work.

Other than that, people who lends money like Sabrina's pops would be killed in a second if they didn't pay on time. I opened my cell and stare at her phone number. I sigh deeply.

"You're gonna be the death of me" i whisper.
