A Month Later
Isabelle and the children have had to leave the previous shelter
they're now in the woods trying to find food

This is taking forever I'm hungry

That winter is here so the animals are going to sleep and it will be harder to find food

yeah your starting to convince me of that

Why do you seem upset? I have an imaginary friend too!

just wait! one day we'll run into him and his brother and you'll all see that he's real!

oh! that's where bears sleep right?

so i need you guys to be quiet
they all shake their head
Isabelle slowly goes into the cave
She freezes as a stick breaks deeper inside the cave

she takes a deep breath trying to calm her nerves
she can't help but cough after the overpowering smell of death hits her
The sounds of running footsteps coming from inside the cave makes her freeze
As a human figure starts to get closer she yells

RUN AND DON'T COME BACK
The desperate sound in her voice sends chills up the kids spines and they book it
Ivy freezes but Luke grabs her arm
Isabelle looks behind her she calms a little seeing them run
The figure stops before the light can hit their face

C'mon show yourself or are you scared?
the figure which can now be identified as a man starts to laugh

The kids lungs are starting to hurt as their taking deep panicked breathes and the cold is slowly freezing their lungs making it harder and harder to breath
Ivy is crying while Luke is full on carrying her

Is she gonna come back?
They slip and fall off a cliff
Luke holds Ivy very tight
she berries her head into his shoulder
If there wasn't several feet of snow at the bottom they would be dead
but because of this they were instantly buried in the snow

Sam where are you? I'm cold

we're in the snow and we need to get out of it quickly

but the problem is we don't know which way is up

we could be upside down

so how do we fix this?

Luke starts digging thru the snow
he finds Hope and pulls him out of the snow

oh i was digging deeper in the ground
they both take awhile to dig Sam out he's the oldest and the heaviest so he's the furthest under snow

we need to warm up somehow

yeah if we cuddle together like we sleep that would work right Sam?

remember how Isaiah use to pick us up and throw us on the beds?

okay well if you don't want to look out for food then-
they walk for hours the little amount of light there is, is slowly fading away

there's nothing to eat
Ivy points to something moving in the snow

now the fun part is getting it

Hope took the bow and aimed it
Luke sighs and takes the bow
they walk over, to the animal that's now whimpering in pain

Luke takes a rock and bashes the foxes head in
Luke puts his hand on Ivy's back
Luke sighs and grabs the knife on Sam's leg
He cuts the skin off where the fox was shot
Sam comes over and looks at it

we couldn't save it...

the arrow shot right thru it's spine
Luke sighs and goes back to Ivy
it's obvious he understands that Ivy won't like him for a long time

well it's to late now... guess we should...

we sadly don't have much of a choice
Luke walks over to a small tree and kicks it
several branches fall down and he picks them up
Luke brings the branches over and lays them on the ground
Sam
It's better then letting it die for no reason
he picks up the fox getting more blood on him
Luke puts the fox down and takes the knife and starts skinning it
Hope
I don't think I can eat this Sam

it's not a fox anymore

Just think it's just meat and eat it
Luke is just eating it with no remorse
Ivy takes a bite and starts crying
Hope closes his eyes and thinks about happy memories and eats it
Sam can't even open his mouth to eat it
afterwards they start trying to find somewhere to sleep
nobody has said a word since they ate
They find a cave and explore it
there's nothing inside but it's a good place to make a fire and sleep
all of them but Luke have nightmares all night
