Chapter 1
Azure Grey
I'm ready to go.
Mr. Ricardo Warren
Good. You got done just in time.
Mr. Ricardo Warren
who knows what would have happened if you didn't.
He grinned, his smile growing with sadistic pleasure. Azure shivered, lowering her eyes to the ground.
His grin grew even wider.
Azure only had a tiny duffel bag in her hands, considering she had been given only an hour to pack. She felt absolutely defeated, but hoped that the people she had been sold to would treat her better than she was in this hell.
Mr. Ricardo Warren
Go downstairs. Make sure you don't **** anything up with your new masters, or I'll find a way to give you the whip.
Azure Grey
Of course, Director. I will behave myself.
Mr. Ricardo Warren
you better.
Azure glanced at him, then back down and back up at him again. she felt anxious, and was wondering if she could beg him not to sell her.
She decided against it. Not only because would it shred her last modicum of dignity, but also due to the fact that she had probably already been sold.
She steeled herself, promising she would survive whatever her buyers put her through.
She would escape, even if she died in the process. Dying with freedom was much better than living in captivity.
Mr. Ricardo Warren
WHAT THE **** ARE YOU STARING AT MY FACE FOR, HUH?
Mr. Ricardo Warren
GO DOWNSTAIRS YOU STUPID BITCH! DONT MAKE ME ANGRIER THAN I ALREADY AM, OR YOU KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES.
Azure Grey
Y- yes! of course! I- I'm so sorry!
She rushed downstairs before he had the chance to reply.
She walked through the doors of the orphanage, wondering if this was the last time she would be seeing her accommodation for the last ten years. She refused to call this place her home.
She looked up slowly, glimpsing fancy tires. A sleek, matte black Audi stood in front of her.
It was the fanciest car she had ever seen. This only made her more afraid. Would the person who bought her be some sleezy bastard who grew up with oil money?
Zenith Alexander
Are you Ms. Grey?
Azure Grey
... Yes. That would be me.
She was startled by the man that spoken, but had not shown it. She glanced beside her, where he was standing.
She wondered why she hadn't heard him.
He was an attractive male- he had hair that looked like they had been spun from golden threads of sunshine, and the most brilliant baby blues she had ever seen. he had a pair of glasses proved up on his nose, making him look even more attractive. They also made him look easier to approach.
He wore a prinstineley white shirt and tight, black trousers with expensive looking shoes and a fancy watch.
the outfit was simple, but made a statement.
Azure was so lost in observing him that she didn't realize that Mr. Warren, the orphanage director, had already come downstairs.
Mr. Ricardo Warren
Ah! Azure! I see that you have met one of your buyers!
The blonde man turned and scowled at the director, looking irritated for some reason she couldn't imagine.
Mr Warren's smile faltered, and he shrinked away slightly.
this was the fist time she had seen Warren like this, and she was rather intrigued.
Zenith Alexander
Come, Azure. Get into the passengers seat.
Azure Grey
How did you know- nevermind...
She was going to ask him how he knew her name, but realized he would already know it, since he was one of her buyers. that surprises her. He looked so young, nothing like she had imagined.
Mr Warren clanched his teeth, being ignored completely.
Mr. Ricardo Warren
Have a safe trip, Azure my dear!
Azure shivered in the passengers seat, feeling uncomfortable. The stranger took notice, but didn't comment. With Mr. Warren being ignored, they drove away.
Azure Grey
Would it be alright if I asked you a question, sir?
Zenith Alexander
Of course. Don't address me by sir though. It makes me sound old.
Azure Grey
Oh! that's what my question was about, actually. what would you have me call you?
Zenith Alexander
My name is Zenith Alexander.
Azure Grey
It's nice to meet you, Mr. Alexander.
Zenith Alexander
don't call me formally. Just call me Zenith, or Zen.
Azure Grey
Alright then, M- Zen.
Azure had a lot of questions swirling in her mind, but it had been a long, draining day, and she was very tired.
She figured she had asked questions once all the people who bought her were gathered at the same time.
Till she reached her new destination, she supposed is wouldn't be harmful to take a nap. She leaned her head against the tinted window, and quickly fell asleep.
Zenith smiled slightly as her even breathing and heartbeat lulled his into a similar rhythm.
Zenith Alexander
I have a feeling you'll make all of our live much more eventful, little bird.
