Theo just nodded his head a little though Alister was finding it hard to resist the urge to deny having Lara to call him by honorifics.

Alister and Lara knew each other from when they were 5. Even after Lara is a commoner's daughter, they quickly became friends.

Friendship is rare for the Obsidian family. Having so many enemies all over and their personalities being cold, harsh or distant, it's hard to maintain genuine relations.

Duke Alister, who took after the position just a year after his father's demise, is known to have an unapproachable personality.

There are only two ladies in the entire empire with whom he seems to interact with.

One being his sister Lily Obsidian and the other being Lara Laremi.

Rumors say that Lara is duke's in-secret partner. Some think that she's a potential suiter for him while the others criticize Lara, a commoner to have the audacity to have her eyes on a Duke such as Alister. Some are jealous that a commoner like her is able to have such high relations with one of the most influential families in the whole empire.

Some ladies in high society call Lara a scheming witch while the others think that she is a gentle, kind and pure hearted lady. Alister's views lie the latter one.

Xeno Adamos, holder of Lv. 2 mind Reading ability is able to read any person. But as always, there are exceptions. Like in his case, he can't read the mind of the 2 or 3 powers holder person.

He can't read my mind either. He could till the original Sayuri was in her own body but not anymore. I'm not someone from this world. He can't read me. And given his personality and wicked mind, I'm glad he can't.

The carriage came to a stop.

They entered the ball.

A few eyes turned their way, some went back to their respective people while some stood struck on them. Ladies looking at Xeno, some with gentleness while the other with luster. Gentlemen looking at Sayuri with either Mesmerisation or desire in their eyes.

Despite that, the siblings eyes just fell on two people.

' It's not like I'll let things go downhill for me like before, might as well enjoy myself.'

Both spoke at the same time, motioning towards different directions.
