Chapter 4

Later on in his last year of middle school Oliver became a little more aggressive and started to be late for school always getting late and running to school and being the first to leave it when it was over. Interacting a bit with a few and ignoring the others. Ravan was also avoiding him after he almost got a beating from Oliver who used the playing a game of football as a pretext to injure Ravan and hitting him again when he was down. Then trying to beat him up again while they were leaving school but he was stopped by Ravan's friend which was bigger then the both of them but had quite the bad grades. Ravan helping him and keeping him around as a bodyguard just in case.

Years were passing by and high school was approaching. Oliver took his exams with decent grades but he couldn't apply to the high school he wanted too. His father tallying him this:

"Look, I can't let you go where you want to go because I don't have the money to do it. You will need to go to this Technologic high school that your brother attends as well. You will come with him home using the train as transportation and go with the train too waking up at 5a.m. to not be late. I'm sorry but I can't provide any better then this..."

And so Oliver had to go to one of the worse high schools that none of his classmates were going besides himself making a few wonder and even question him saying something like:

"Damn what the hell mate. I thought you were going to one of the best high schools but it seems you are going to the worse one that none of us picked. Why did you even chose it?"

Oliver could only say that it was his decision without wanting to shame his father for not being able to afford any better.

He lost contact with all his classmates after that barely meeting any from time to time on Fridays when they were getting back home as they either had homes in the city or they were staying there paying rent and going home on Fridays.

It was hard for Oliver to always wake up at 5a.m. but he managed to do it. Taking good grades and being a bit more sociable with his new classmates. He didn't make true friends there either but he was cool with everyone. Doing his things then going towards the train station by buss meeting with his brother and his cousins from time to time there and going home.

Trouble did found it's way to him again tough as not long after the second semester of the first year started his mother was found to have cancer as well but luckily it was in early stages and it could be treated. His mother was working again at that time at a farm and the boss there was kind enough to help with the money for the operation. It was a life saver as by that time his father's job was in danger because the company were he was working at was accused of fraud. It was a big event when the accusation was proven to be true not long after and the company was shut down with a lot of employees losing their jobs, including Oliver's father as well.

Oliver's mother was taken to one of the best hospitals that were specialized in cancer disease in another city and his father was staying at home looking for another job. Doing a bit of cooking and cleaning while he was at it.

It was hard but they got over that situation as well. The operation was a success and his mother got back home safely after a bit over two months.

And life moved on because time and tide waits for no one.

High school was quite uneventful after that or so was what Oliver thought when compared with the situations he found himself in the past. There were still some small issues but nothing to much besides the fact that he was waking up at 5a.m. and not eating pretty much anything till 5p.m. or so when he was getting back home. He also discovered that he could not drink coffee because when he did his heart started to ache and he had to bear with it for more then one hour as he was in the bus going to school when it happened. He asked no one for help just staying in the back seats with his hand on his heart with a painful look. He was sweating and had a face like he seen some ghost. In the end he discovered that by eating something with sugar in it the ache would go away. Besides that everything was ok. He was interacting with his classmates and joking from time to time. Or going for a beer or two after school with them.

High school came fast and ended just as fast. He took quite the good grades taking into account his situation. He was also one of the two who actually did take the last exam from his class with most others not even attempting it or attending the exam. He took a decent marks with 7.9 for mate, 8.6 at biology and 5.3 for his native language exam. Yes he was actually the worse for his native language exam but it was what it was. His native language teacher was also their advisor and he did told them all that he wasn't teaching them to take a high score but to actually just barely pass it. He was quite the laid back guy. Joking with his colleagues and being ok overall.

By this point his father took different jobs with a few of them being in another city where his sisters were and staying with them for that time. Sending some money over from time to time.

At that point his mother that had 2 other sisters as well found out that one of her sisters was also having cancer too but this time being in the later stages. She couldn't be saved in time and passed away in the hospital. She had a daughter and 2 sons. Her daughter was quite the trouble maker. Quitting school in the 7th grade and having 3 children after that all being girls which she just left them on his parents care. Even trying to abandon the last girl at the hospital. Her father was the one who found out and took the girl in the end in his care. But now with his wife passing away and a job to take care of he could not afford to keep the girl. So Oliver's Mother chose to take it instead.

Oliver's brother has left home to work aboard after he finished high school so now it was just Oliver his mother that was still recuperating after her operation, his father and the adopted girl.
