Un roman

I am going to tell you a story that will make your hair stand on end. A story that you may not want to believe, a story that will give you nightmares, a story that changed my life forever. Yet that day started like any other. That morning she was on duty at the military hospital, the sound of fighting could be heard in the distance. The night's fighting had been particularly violent. Wounded people were brought to us, people who had almost died as a result of the madness of men.

One had a mutilated arm, another a broken leg, and yet another, traumatised by the war, was wandering aimlessly around the room. She saw one particular body. The poor man must have died in the early hours of the morning, but he retained a strange pallor in death that was beyond what she could see. He looked as if he had been crushed, which should have covered him in blood, but there was no red stain on his uniform. She called for a medic. He arrived and she asked him:

- Where did this body come from?

-Uh, it's from...

-But where did it come from?

-From the same place as the traumatized soldier

-Really, where is this soldier's room?

-I think it's 13

She went to see the patient in room 13. He explained to her that they had been assigned with a platoon to go to the North-East to protect the neighbouring villages

-And by the way, what is your name?

-My name is Maëlys!

-All the men are dead, the soldiers in front were not human. Don't go there!

-All right, thank you for all.

The next night, we were called to go and look for the wounded, which is normal at this time.

I knew something was wrong when she realised she hadn't heard any noise. We decided to go with the ambulance. The soldier with the mutilated arm appeared and told us not to go because we would all die. He said, "No! Ra..ra..rapt".

She knew what she had to do but instead we went out into the dark night.

We walked out to a plain and a little further on there was a forest where the ambulance could not go any further. So some of us went into the forest. We tried to find out if there were any survivors. When she heard a thud, she went to look and saw a shadow creeping through the bushes. Then the shadow disappeared.

And as she tried to follow it, she fell and cut her leg. She was lost. She could feel that she was being followed. She asked if there was someone there. Doubt rose in her. Fear too. She was in pain. She had heard terrifying noises. She was trying to find something to take shelter in, to hide because she was so scared. The screams came closer to me, and she saw a man who was pale, rather tall, muscular, with hair and eyes black as the devil. That's when everything changed, he saw and a sound of footsteps came closer. It was a nurse's back who was new to the team, the man killed him in front of my eyes, then disappeared. She tried to run, but with my leg, but she didn't know what to say, she thought she was crazy.

Finally everything stopped. For several days there were more and more wounded to be treated. The work made her dumb and she couldn't think. Life had returned to normal.

But believe me, on full moon nights my scar hurts like hell, and now...
