Why Can't I Go? (Part 1)

“By the way,” asked Reagan, “What is that paper in the gap of your sofa?”

“It’s my lottery ticket I……” Kepler tried to explain to Reagan but stopped as his sight got caught by the last number on the ticket.

“Number 36!” shouted Kepler.

“What’s so good about it?” asked Reagan.

“I won the lottery!” shouted Kepler.

“However, you won’t be able to use it!” Reagan claimed.

“Uhh... You’re right!” replied Kepler, holding on to his lottery ticket.

“I can take you to a place you want before we go to the territory,” claimed Reagan.

“No need!” claimed Kepler, “If I go, I would’ve changed my mind.”

“Okay, then let’s depart!” claimed Reagan as he took out a small, watch-like device.

“Put this on your wrist.” stated Reagan, “This is the only way you can have access to my dimension.”

As Kepler was trying to put the device on his wrist, Reagan took out a phone-like device. Just when he started up his device, a virtual screen popped up in the air as Reagan started to prepare for departure.

“Those devices are cool!” said Kepler.

“I’m not as rich as the other Soul Directors, those are not the best!”

“Can’t imagine what the life would be like in your dimension!” claimed Kepler.

“It is way more comfortable for just the Soul Directors ourselves because we are citizens of the dimension,” Reagan explained as he kept entering data into the device.

“And... We’re ready!” after a few minutes of setting up, Reagan was finally ready to take Kepler with him.

However, when Reagan pressed the execute button, an alert appeared on Reagan’s screen.

“Alert! Alert!” claimed Reagan’s device.

“What had happened?” asked Kepler.

“Something went wrong!” explained Reagan, “Let me see what’s going on.”

It took quite a while for Reagan to check all the settings and options, after a while, approximately 20 minutes, Reagan talked to Kepler with a shocking tone.

“Have you not completed your mission?” Reagan asked surprisingly.

“What mission?” asked Kepler.

“Well, the Hepiens and the Depiens have the control of the birth of humans, and all human was sent to the Earth for a purpose, what was your purpose?” asked Reagan.

“I don’t know!” replied Kepler, “How would I know the purpose of my life?”

“You’re right!” claimed Reagan, “How did you die then?”

“I have no idea” replied Kepler, “I didn’t even know when I died, remember?”

“None of the souls died before completing their mission in the past, you are the first one who counters the system!” said Reagan.

“So I have to complete my mission?” asked Kepler.

“I guess so, because the system detected you as a human, not a soul, only souls are allowed to enter the Hepiens’ and the Depiens’ territory,” explained Reagan.

“Can you give me a hint of what I should do?” asked Kepler.

“Since we don’t know why and how did you die, we’ll have less clue of finding your mission,” replied Reagan.

“But you can try to do something you were gonna do or planning to do in the future!”

“Let me think of it…..” Kepler thought as he said.

It was 5 in the morning, while Kepler was thinking about what should he do to complete his mission on Earth, suddenly Kepler realized something he never expected.

“I just realized that I’m never tired and hungry!” shouted Kepler.

“You’re not supposed to,” explained Reagan.

“Originally, you are no longer having connections with this world you’ve been living for so long, so you won’t be able to feel anything from this world anymore.”

“How come I can still talk and hear?” asked Kepler confusingly.

“You can’t hear what they are saying because you are no longer living on the Earth, but you can still hear the voices of their soul, which are those currently living in their bodies,” Reagan stated.

“Does that mean that I can have all my senses back when I go to your dimension?” asked Kepler.

“You’re correct!” claimed Reagan, “People use to think that souls can go through objects, but that’s not true, they are still affected by all the forces, it’s just that they don’t feel anything, except……”

“Except what?” asked Kepler.

“Except someone using a tool from the Hepiens’ and the Depiens’ territory and damage your soul……” explained Reagan, “You will feel hundreds and thousands of times more painful…… Which is scary.”

Kepler didn’t say anything, he just gave Reagan a shocked face.

“But you don’t have to worry too much about it!” said Reagan, “No one on the Earth would have those tools or weapons from my dimension, and those weapons don't do as much damage as on Earth in my dimension.”

“Thank god!” replied Kepler.

“No need, you will be able to see them later!”

“So what am I suppose to do right now?” asked Kepler again.

“Was there any oath you made when you were alive?” asked Reagan, “This might not be accurate, but at least you can try it!”

“I sure will try them!” claimed Kepler.

“I remember that I said that I’ll take care of my mom when I have a job,” said Kepler.

“We should go visit your mom!” claimed Reagan, “Where does she live?”

“Not too far away from here, I’ll drive us there……” said Kepler.

“To where?” asked Reagan, “You can’t drive, or else I’ll get in big trouble.”

“For what?” Kepler asked confusingly.

“For showing thousands of people that souls, Hepiens, and Depiens are real?” Reagan questioned.

“No one besides the Soul Directors can see you in this world right now Kepler,” said Reagan, “Not even through mirrors.

“I get what you’re talking about, Reagan, I’m sorry, it’s just that I’m not used to it!” claimed Kepler.

“You’re fine,” said Reagan, “You’ll get used to it, in fact, you are one of the fastest people who can believe that they are dead.”

“How odd?” claimed Kepler as they were going out of his house, “I don’t know why, but after you told me all about you and your dimension, I feel like you are very trustworthy.”

“We don’t usually lie,” explained Reagan.

“That’s a good thing to know!” said Kepler.

They started to walk as they talked about the job, Soul Director.

“I wonder if I can become a Soul Director after I'm allowed to go to your dimension,” said Kepler.

“If you are one of the most sincere and hardworking people, you should be able to become a Soul Director,” claimed Reagan, “Even I became a Soul Director, it would make no sense if they chose me but not you!”

Kepler smiled at Reagan, as they crossed the road.

“It feels so awkward that you can see people, but people can’t see you,” claimed Kepler.

“Not necessary!” replied Reagan, “When more powerful citizens’ souls came to the Earth, they would be able to see us as a human.”

“There are a lot of things I’ve never know before!” said Kepler.

“You’ll get used to it!” concluded Reagan.
