Chapter two

“Okay lover boys, let’s cut this crap and get down to business.” said a booming voice coming from behind Hesus. Hesus and Mian stiffened and looked up. They knew that voice came from none other than Rex, their boss.

Hesus and Mian immediately were on their feet in front of their associate Rex. If Hesus thought Mian was fierce,

Rex was on a whole nether level. And when he said nether, he meant nether as in netherworld. Rex, their boss, and father-figure had been around since both of them could remember. Always there. But despite the father-figure he was, they still knew so little of he actually was. To be honest, his aura and every physical detail scared the crap out of Mian and Hesus. He had hard jet-black eyes that caused such a drastic contrast with his pale skin tone and blonde hair which was longer than Mian’s. He kept it braided and Hesus knew despite its length it did not prevent him from evading attacks or fighting, it was one with his body.

Rex had taken down beast and man alone before Hesus’s own eyes. Yes, definitely, Rex was a strong motherfucker he never wanted to cross. Ever.

“You two have separate assignments this time, Hesus you’ve got a new client, who is choosing to remain anonymous,” Rex said as he tossed them both two folders with their assignment details and continued to explain the situation.

Hesus raised an eyebrow as Rex spoke, “Hesus you will be heading to Texas by car, while Mian takes a plane to Italy.”

Hesus and Mian gave each other a glance.

Rex looked at them both with cold eyes. “Hesus, your targets’ location is given in the folder, as well as how the assassination should be carried out per the clientele request. Mian a full description of the target is available. You are allowed your preferred method of killing. All arrangements have already been handled and you two should be leaving in the next thirty minutes. Any questions?” Rex said, not expecting a response.

Hesus opened his folder and only saw a college class schedule and activity log of the target's actions through the day. His brow furrowed as he pondered the lack of information. Did they not have the time to gather enough or were they withholding information?

He wanted to ask Rex, but knew better than that, Rex had trained them and he would have taken Hesus out right then and there if he had asked such a stupid question. He released a breath he had taken without noticing and looked over at his brother who was smiling into his folder.

Rex cleared his throat which brought Hesus and Mian’s attention to him. “I’ll head back inside now and expect you both to be long gone when I look out the window in ten minutes and be back here in a week. I do not think it should take that long, but let’s just say any free time after you contact me with the completion code counts towards your designated vacation time.” Rex looked at both of the brothers.

Hesus looked over at Main who had a wide grin on his face, while he was sure his face showed a mix of emotions. He just did not understand the lack of information for his job. Just when he was going deeper into thought, he felt Rex grab his hair and Rex’s face appeared in front of his. “Understand you two numbskulls?” Rex uttered with irritation oozing out of each word.

Hesus immediately bowed his head showing he understood and dashed to pack his things as soon as Rex released his mangled locks. He wanted to get out of there before Rex tore into him for wasting precious time.
