An Assassin And His Target
Though she did not know yet what she will become, there was one who could see.
Hesus sulked across the yard as he approached his brother, Mian, who laid upon the green grass in the courtyard of their mansion.
“Do you ever do anything besides lay around, you do know we have jobs, right?” Hesus said through clenched teeth at the sight of his brother throwing pebbles at the birds.
“Oh, I am well aware of what is expected of us, I just choose not to support those expectations,” Mian replied with a
grin at his brother.
Hesus stopped in his tracks and focused on his older brother. His dark blue hair was out of its usual ponytail and laid around him.
Someone else would have mistaken him for an angel, but he knew better, Mian was as much as an angel as a panther was a chihuahua. His eyes shined a breathtaking blue and his skin was on the verge of being tan. As for Hesus, he knew his pale skin was a stark contrast to his brother’s sun-kissed look. Their hair was the only thing they shared in common, though his hair was more black than blue, rested upon his shoulders and dangled in front of his dark grey eyes.
He never cared much about his appearance. Who would look at him anyway? They were always out killing. Literally. Like with death and all. Assassin is the title that had been given to them by those who hired them. He preferred to think of it as a job with no title, because was he really someone when he took someone else’s life?
All he and his brother had known was death, though they could not really help it, they were immortal after all. Alive, yet dead inside was Mian’s motto. All they could remember was one another. Hesus thought back to the overwhelming sensation of power within himself. The one thing he and his brother kept secret from the world. They had no desire for power, only peace.
“Hey, bro you okay?” Mian’s nose pressed against Hesus’s and when Hesus came out of his mind he stumbled
back onto the ground with Mian on top of him.
“Mian, what the hell?!” Hesus clenched his fists ready to sock Mian in the chin. Mian grabbed his hand before he could do any damage though.
“Come on Hessie, do you really want to hurt little o’ me?” he spoke holding back a laugh. Hesus rolled his eyes and tried to pry his brother off of him.
“Come on Hessie, play with me” Mian spoke with his hair dangling around them.
“I highly doubt either of us is actually interested in males” Hesus stared at his brother.
“Doesn’t mean I can’t tease my lil bro,” Mian spoke as he ran his hands up his brothers’ shirt then strategically placed them on his sides. “You know I love you Hessie, no matter what happens” Mian’s lips pulled back into a
grin with a hint of foolishness and he began to tickling Hesus.
“Goddess damn! Mian, what the ****?!” Hesus laughed and choked on the clear mountain air as his brother tortured him mercilessly. His legs had minds of their own as they preceded to try and kick away from Mian’s onslaught of tickles. Hesus exasperatedly shouted, "Mini stop already!". Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime Mian rolled over off of Hesus and held his brother's
hand.
Mian rolled his eyes, "Didn't I specifically tell you not to call me that?". Hesus grinned at his brother, "Oh and didn't I tell you not to call me Hessie, it sound's like a girl's nickname."
“Hesus?” Mian whispered in his ear seriously. Hesus peered over at his brother just as Mian planted a kiss on his brothers’ forehead. “We got one another, right?” Mian said with a straight face.
Hesus looked at his brother, who was so different from himself, and squeezed his hand and smiled. “You got that right, Mini.”
