Phoenix part 3

Azazel came into the room where lucifurge and Plato were.

Azazel: a classical game has been arranged between him and your vanguard. Just your vanguard, you-

(He motioned to Plato)

Azazel: will be the judge for this event. His entire vanguard will compete against yours in 2 days. You've been assigned tonight to train. At 5 you will fight at a replica of the academy.

He left. Lucifurge teleported the devils to a feild.

Winston: where's this?

Lucifurge: a territory I bought in Angland. I want you to direct the training Lana.

She flew into space. Crackling could be heard in the distance. Winston jumped at Matt and begin sparing with him. In a few seconds he had him on the ground

Winston: it's clear we haven't focused enough on your body. Run or swim as fast as you can to the north. You should circle the earth quite quickly. You can run for much longer than a human can. You need to build on your speed and stamina.

Matt left leaving a smoke trail behind him. Winston sword fought gwenovier for about a minute until Matt came back. Lana floated off into the distance and begin building a mass of explosive magic. Gwenoviers claymore, Caliburn clashed with Winstons light swords and light arrows.

Matt returned and did 30000 push ups, he found that he could continue moving and that there was no limit on the amount of exorcise he could do. He hopped around and shadow boxed eventually being able to spar with Winston and lift mountains. Gwenovier split clouds and valleys repeatedly.

After some more of that Matt adapted his ability to summon the divine drive. He had practiced before but in a few hours was able to perfectly summon wings and the gauntlet. He concentrated energy into his divine drive and shot it out messily like usual. He managed to concentrate this into a clean laser.

He focused on creating different moves for about an hour. They repeated this constantly until it was dark. When lucifurge came down Lana hurled fire at her. She managed to completely destroy the magical energy and land.

Lucifurge: Blaze is much like a god. We should all be very confident about fighting him tonight.

They went back in and had a meal.

Matt: Is he a Phoenix or something separate?

Lucifurge: thousands of years ago, the war between God and Satan was stopped when 2 Eldritch beasts of the apocalypse battled. They ripped holes in our reality and all supernatural beings put their weapons down the send them back. Other things like rumour of someone stronger than god and the death of god and Satan tore the factions apart.

In the middle of space the first devils were met with a giant Phoenix from god. The commander lucifer put all his military might into killing this beast and sealing its essence into a thousand devils and shards of glass. They used the power of the Phoenix to win battles and eventually the war faded out and all gave up.

The descendants of the Phoenix children of the war became the Phoenix born clan. Their wings are golden and their healing is greatly increased. That is what blaze is.

Matt: can he be beaten?

Lucifurge: with enough power. A magical beast like that would require a god to step in. We can't bring back god though. And we're on our own. But we still have a chance.

In the morning they went back to the underworld and sat down in the make shift office. The replica hung in the void with speakers looming over.
