Ch 2 : A New City

When I reached LA it was totally different from the small town I lived in. It was huge. I rented a room at a cheap rate. I could see the Hollywood sign from there. I started to work on my music. As a vocalist and lyricist I depend on my voice and lyrics more than the beats. But if the vocal and beats should be neutral in a song to be a perfect song. So I started focusing in the beats and started making my own own which can fit with my songs. I wanted to participate in The Voice and show everyone my capability. For instance I worked at a restaurant part time in the morning and worked at my music in the night. I always became super tired but I never gave up . The auditions were near and I was prepared.

It was the day of the audition and I was the participant no. 613. I brought my friend who worked with me at the restaurant and was also a good friend. It was my turn soon and I am not gonna lie , I was super nervous. I was going to sing a vocally hard song " All by myself by Celine Dion". I was nervous and then they called my stage name, " Participant no. 613 you are up ". "What is your name ? " . "Hello everyone I am Alison Campbell and I am 21 years old". After the introduction he asked me somethings I don't remember. "Okay let's begin". I sang the song effortlessly and nailed all the high notes. By the time finished the main high notes all the judges turned their chairs around. I couldn't believe it. I was selected. I hugged the judges and was insanely happy. They told that I had a beautiful voice. I was moved to tears but I didn't cry.

I was excited that I was going to be on TV. All my friends came to to my home to have a small party to celebrate and watch the audition. We waited for my turn but they didn't show my audition. Everyone left one by one and sticked to the TV. I realised that they cut the clip of my audition. By time the show came to an end most of my friends left. Only two friends were there. Sarah, who went to the show with me said ," I don't know what happened but don't break there are many opportunities ". They left after sometime and I was all alone in my appartment. I cried myself to sleep that night.

Next day, I took a leave and went to the studio. I went to talk with the people in the backstage. But the guards stopped me. I still tried to get in and then someone called me , "Is this Alison Campbell ? ". " Yes ". "Oh, you have a incredible voice. You sang such a hard song so beautifully". " Then why was my audition cut from the telecast?". "I think you might have offended a big shot as one of the producers forced to remove your audition". "No I didn't offend anyone".The girl takes me in a corner and says , " You have a lot of potential. I can help you become a star". "Why should I believe you ?". "I am not lying believe me. I can take you to my mentor and he can help you". "What do you want from me in return? Nobody helps somebody for free". "I want you to make me your manager and you can fire me if don't like me". "By the way who are you?". "I am Serena Williams ".
