New beginnings

Today is the first day of my senior year...

After attending lectures we got to know that it's not important to attend lectures and the only important thing is to attend practicals. I decided to take extra classes for chemistry as I hate the subject and need extra guidance. I didn't know much about best classes in my city so I went home and started to search about it on the internet.

"How was your first day Ashley?", my mom asked.

"It was good mom. I am just worried about the extra classes that I am planning to take as I don't know any good classes in our city",

I said.

"Why don't you ask our neighbour's son. He might help you. After all he is like your big brother and he will guide you well".

" Thanks mom. I will ask him"

I called him and got the number of the teacher who take classes for chemistry.

I called the teacher and asked for the details. After discussing it with mom and dad I decided to join the classes and... the classes starts tomorrow!!

"Mom I am going to attend my chemistry class. Bye."

" Be careful on your way dear."

One thing I like about me the most is that I'm a very punctual person. I entered the classroom.... "Ohh..I'm 10 mins early" and I chose my seat. I chose front row because I thought that might help me to concentrate and hoped that I won't doze off during lecture...

Just when I'm lost in thoughts a girl entered the classroom and sat beside me. We looked at eachother and smiled.

"Hi, I'm Remi", she said with a warm smile.

"Hi, I'm Ashley and you can call me Ash"

Later two more girls along with some boys entered the classroom. Our chemistry teacher Mrs. Nicole walked in right behind them.

"Good Afternoon students. Lets start with the introduction part of the subject"

During lecture, I tried my best to pay attention to each and every word that Mrs. Nicole was teaching. I wrote down the important points and patiently waited for the lecture to get over. After some time I started to realise that I am very sleepy .

"Oh god..still 15 mins to go." I glanced at my mobile screen and sighed . I dared not to sleep as Mrs. Nicole was standing right front of me and I didn't want make fool out of myself on the very first day .Struggling not to sleep in the class is indeed the toughest thing. Finally, the lecture ended and teacher left the class.

I started looking for taxi or bus on the road as I did not bring my moped that day. I saw Remi coming towards me on her moped.

"Hey where do live? I will give a ride."

I hesitated a bit and declined her offer with apologetic smile.

"Ash common! You are alone and even I need a friend. Lets be friends from now! Also our houses are in the same direction. Don't say no",she smiles.

"Ok then! lets go!" I smiled. She laughed.

I never had many friends growing up. The few that I had in school were not good to me. So I always prefered to be alone and enjoy my own company. Due to this reason many of them thought that I have an attitude. To be honest, I never had a friend that can connect me and be my best friend.

But after meeting Remi I felt great and really hoped that we can be good friends in future...
