Chapter three

Lia woke up the next morning; she looked around and realized she slept on the floor last night inside the piano room. She got up and decided to make breakfast so her son could eat before he leave for school, she entered the living room and noticed it was extremely quiet, a home should be lively, but the same can’t be said for her home. She made pancakes for breakfast and set the table, she went up to call her son, but when she opened the door and entered the room, she notices that there was no one inside. She laughed at her pathetic self, who was she kidding. Jesse is no longer a child, of course he won’t stay till now just to have pancakes, and he will only get late.

School was the normal.

After some lectures, they were given a break, Jesse decided to rest inside the sculpture garden, he normally come here to get his mind off things, especially since people don’t come here a lot. He took his seat behind a corner reading his books. “you know Ariana, this is my first time here” stella shouted from where she stood since her friend was not close to her, stella words died in her mouth when she came face to face with Jesse, they looked at each other in the eyes for sometimes, before stella adverted her eyes, “em, hello, I mean hi, sorry I mean I was just leaving” stella took a step back and hurried away from there, when she saw Ariana she dragged her with her ignoring her friend question.

Ariana pov

“Hey why did you suddenly drag us away from the sculpture garden, are you alright”. “answer me you dumpass” I was about to get really upset when stella finally said something, “well it’s just that I saw that weirdo in the sculpture garden, the way he looked at me with those eyes, I felt as if I was gonna get killed” what are you talking about, and who is the weirdo, are you sure you are alright stella”haven’t you heard Ariana, there is this guy that act all quite, he might be a killer”. That’s so harsh Stella; beside I haven’t heard anything like that. Wait a minute, I walked back inside the garden and I stood face to face with this guy I don’t know, but I forgot the words I was about to say when I saw the face of this guy. “Ariana what are you doing let’s leave this place already” I could hear stella voice but I could not make out what she was saying, he stood up and I took a step back, I thought he was going to say something but he just left, “ see his arrogant”. I came back to my full senses when I was tapped by Stella, “let’s go”. I felt so embarrassed, why did I even do that. Well I think our next class is in an hour, now what do you think about drinking coffee before lectures, “no I want ice cream” my Stella baby said. After an hour, It was time already, and we entered the class, and took our seat, it was kind of crowded but that was because it was a general subject, the lecturer came in and we prepared for a long day of lecture. Lecture was going fine and smooth, until Mr. Crane decided to ask a question. Well no one in class was willing to answer the question, that left him to point out someone, which he did, “hey Jesse, you might want to tell us, who own the cultural materials, the government or the people” I snort at the question, archaeology really can be a handful, what was the use for learning about our past, it’s so fucked up really. I was snapped out from my thinking when I heard a voice that made me snapped my head quickly to that direction, because that was one hell of a voice, it sent chills down my spine. But the guy I saw left me shocked; it was the crazy weird guy. “Sir, my answer would be the both of them, because the cultural materials do not only belong to the government nor does it belong to the people only. And beside the people are the government and the government are the people”. O my god his voice is really deep never knew he could speak.

“Well you’re on track, Jesse keep it up”. His name is Jesse I guess since Mr Crane called him that, and he seem to be really intelligent. But his eyes hold a lot of secret, and he is kind of cute, I really don’t see a weird in him.
