Ch. 2 Battlefield

The sun rays are getting rising, nature looks calm and here is the part that I particularly dislike about. The day has been in the morning. Like usual Luc-chan will wake me up. I didn't know how did I end up nakedly in the bed and sleep peacefully yesterday.

“Good morning little Lylia, you better wake up or you won't have breakfast this morning.”

“Ehh? It's morning already?” -_-|| I couldn't speak louder in the morning because I still sleepy.

Then Luc-chan go out without hesitation like he doesn't care about my feeling as he thinks that is a normal thing. This is why you're always being alone. Demon are terrified things urgggghhh. And I go to the shower room. Cleaning myself then does some makeup before breakfast. Luc-chan already wait at the table for breakfast. With my mad mood I dare go to the table and eat. However, Luc-chan's food never disappoint me and I always forgive him for what he does. I don't know if he uses any spell on his food or is this the only things that Luc-chan good at? Well eating and finished the foods made by Luc-chan himself are first priority as a female hero. While I was chewing the food happily, Luc-chan said something.

“ On your exam today, please be careful and come back safely.”

Those words came from Luc-chan mouth. (*'∇｀*). This is the first time I ever heard such a caring words from him in my life. I feel like I wanted to cry out of joyfulness(*'∇｀*). Those words are really entered to my mind and heart. He said it like he wished me a good luck. Without showing my joyful tears, I continue showing him a great smile while eating his food. Thank you very much Luc-chan I will do my best. After the dramatic scenes over I carried out my bag and put on my shoes. Luc-chan is opening the door for me.

“ I'm going to school now Luc-chan!!! See you when I got home from school. Make sure you cook a special menu today because I'm going to win this match.” I said it's sincere since the heart and smile happily.

Luc-chan smiled to me. I never really remembered how he smiled before but today was a special day that I won't forget how he smiled. My heart beating faster and I think this feeling is something else. I was happy and nervous.

" I'll wait for you here. And one more thing Lylia.”

“ What is it?” ⊙_⊙ I ask him

“ The mana.....you can use the mana starting today.” He replied.

“ For real? Alright I'll use it when the time has come.”^_^

He told me I can use the mana that I was given. It's been a long time I never used it.

Actually, I have a weak body which can't produce mana in a short time. Furthermore, I'll die without mana. Because my body are too weak when I was a kid. So Luc-chan entered his mana into my body, so I can live. And believe it or not, he never gave me permission to use his mana in a battle because it was uncontrollable, I know this because I once used it and ended up almost killing someone by using it. From that experience he never gave me permission to used it up until now. But I want to use my real mana that I produce this long time. I'll only use his mana when it was urgent.

I started my trip to the school like usual. Luc-chan probably cleaning the house or watering the flowers at the back of the garden every day. Like he had a place to go anyway hehehe. As soon as I got to school, I directly walk into the examination room where all of my classmate are told to gathered there. I was looking for my friend Raph-chan but I meet this troublesome haters in front of the physical test registration desk area. It was Seren Knightwalker, a royal knight daughter and her gangs. There are paladin types. They quite have a guts here you know. Their ranks are higher than mine. I could say that it was hard for me to battle with her. Anyway I'd rather not to make any worthless duel.(¬_¬)

“ Oh my Oh my, looked what do we have here? A weakling? or a demon's daughter? Wuahhahaahahh whuaahahah hahaha.” She laughed maniacly with her gang.

“ You think I'll get into your trap if you're doing that you maniac badass queen?” I act like how Luc-chan do to me every day. And it seems like it works to trigger the maniac queen. I mean Seren.＜（－︿－）＞

“ What did you just say you demon?” She is furious to what I said earlier. I think she is a short-tempered person too I could say that.

“Oh my oh my, didn't expect maniac badass queen had a hearing problem recently until she asked me to repeat what I said just now hihihiihi” I said this to play with her emotion.

She can never beat Luc-chan's worst attitude over me if she can't even handle this huhu.

So, I'm toying with her because she really pissed me off. If you want to insult me, I'm okay but don't you dare to insult Luc-chan. You never know who he is. The short-tempered Seren almost use her power to hit me, but she was stopped by her friends around her. And Raph-chan come out from nowhere.

"Not again Lia, you should change your behavior. Or you'll never be a good warrior.”Raph-chan said.

“ Don't worry, I was just kidding with her anyways.” I tried to consume her.(╯3╰)

“ I can't believe it if it was from your mouth.”

“ Anyways, where did you came from? I didn't see you anywhere just now”

“ I was registering my attendance on the registration centre just now. You haven't register yet Lia ?"

“No I haven't. But I'm going now.” I'm about to register my attendance on the registration center.

“ Lia, what type of role will you register this year?” Raph-chan asked me out of wonder.

“I haven't thought about it yet. I always register to be a fighter since I am always carrying my sword. But this year, I think I didn't want to be fighter role anymore. I want something more than that.” I answered Raph-chan instead.╮(╯▽╰)╭

“ Seems like a surprise! What could it be Lia?” Raph wanted know more.°Д°

“ I want to register as a....PALADDIN!”◐.̃◐

Everyone who listen to what I was saying just now stared at me with silent. And that's a moment of silent. Even Seren stared at me with a shocked surprise face, they then laugh hardly. The room sounded like a funny stuff happen here. I seriously look at them. Seren talk to me.

“ A demon could never be hero, what else becomes a paladin? Huh? Hahahahahha stop making fun of paladin role. You're not even suit with it. Don't be a burden you bastard.”

“ Are there any wrong with it if I choose to be paladin? Are there any impact on you if I choose to be paladin?” I said it with a serious look in my eyes.

They silence again and started to ignore me and do something else. I then registered my attendance. There was 15 minute before the exam started, so teacher Mica(the teacher who'll be handling us, an adult female teacher in her 33 years old wore a glass and red lips) and gathered us all in a corner to briefing us. So we were divided into a group of three. And each group will represent their strength in the battle. The battle will only end if the opponent surrender or three of the members cannot stand anymore. Here's the bad news. We're already being chosen to group with according to the name list. We can't team up with anybody freely anymore. This decision has been made by the principal. It seems like the principal had planned this from start.

“ Raph-chan I think we can't team up anymore.”(｡ŏ_ŏ)

“I never imagine that I would have to separate with you. This is so bad”(｡ŏ_ŏ)

“ Well that's a shame that the team has been decided. So, we should follow and do our best for the exam.”

“ YES!” Raph-chan said it with high spirit.

I was teaming up with the weakest ? A supporter and a mage? Oh now this is bad, I'll lose the battle. Furthermore, our group will have a match with the bastard maniac queen, and the top five assassins in Goryu rank,it's Yujima Hanzo and my bestie...Raph-chan. Dammmnnnnn !!!! How could this happened. It's unfair. I looked at Raph-chan and she showed a gloomy face. I didn't expect I will have a match with them with these two person I didn't even know their names or what are they looked like.

“ You must be Astaria Lylia a Paladin role right? Nice to meet you I am Layla William a supporter, and I am an elf." A soft sound person greet me and raise her hand to shake-hand with me. I was stunned and shocked but I shake her hand instead. Her aura of gentleness are glowing up like an angel from heaven. A sharp ear with pretty face, she is an elf.

“ Yes I am. Nice to meet you too Layla-san right?”

“ Ahh, just call me Layla since I see you as my friend”

“ Ffffffriend? For real? Doesn't people dislike for who I am”

“Yes we are now officially a friend from now on Lylia. I don't really thinks you as a demon. Your appearance are just like the rest,it's normal.”

“ Thanks Layla I appreciate it. Anyways it's rare to see an elf's role as a supporter, doesn't they always choose to be a marksmen type”

“Well, actually I am skilled in not just healing the wound, but I am also mastered to increase my partners physical movement and rising up their mana. So rather than being a marksman, I instead choose to be a supporter.” She said it proudly.^o^

“ That's a good idea, hope we will have a good combinations out there”

Someone's behind me and try to reach me but I realize it soon and turning my back. In front of me must be the wizard. He looked like a cute girl but actually he is a guy. He was shorter than me, Yellow hair, wearing a blue hoodie, cute blue eyes, cute outfit, and he sounded like totally a girl's voices. He really is a shy person. And I ask...

“ You must be the wizard?”(｡ŏ_ŏ) I ask gently

“ Y.. Yes" He nodded while answering.

“ Don't be shy, my name is Astaria Lylia. You can call me Lylia Or Lia-chan because now we're friend” I talk to him, so he could over calm his shyness.

“ My name is ...Benedict..Reus. I'm looking forward for your teamwork in the battle.”

“Yeah, Looking forward to this too Reus-kun!.”^o^

We all laughed happily and get to know each other before the exam started. I think I should not underestimate their ability from their look. We got closed in just a few moments but feels lie we know each other for a long time. I am happy that I teamed up with these two. Even though everyone disliked me by my identity, but they're different. Then the exam just started and all of my classmate cheer for the first group that will be the first one to battled. Everyone's busy watching the battle while I'm busy making a strategy with my fellows. We gathered and give and suggest any idea to counter our opponent. As we discuss and think of it, my throat are getting thirst and I excuse myself to get some water. While I grab a bottle and filled the water in to my bottle. Suddenly something hit in my minds. I quickly tell my group and planned a strategy. Even though this is to risk. We have to do so or do nothing.

When the time come, our group are being call to get ready on the battle field. While on our way to the battle field we met up with the maniac queen. She laughed like she has won this match. But we ignore them and focus on what we had. Our status displayed on top of us before we begin to battle and teacher Mica are giving us a minute to do the last preparation before battling. Reus-kun readily stand his pose like a female mage, his cute, but I was nervous that he was actually too (nervous) than me〒_〒. While beside my right, Layla looked calm while observing our opponent. I tell them over and over to stick together with the planned we've discussed earlier.

“Listen Layla and Reus-kun!!! No matter what happen....always stick to the plan.!”￣へ￣

“YES!!!” Both of them replied bravely.

“Don't get nervous, the real battle are just about to begin.”

Half a minute left, I told Layla and Reus-kun to check the opponent's status and do not afraid of their status. I just told them to check on their status, so they know something about the opponent even though their level are higher than us. The biggest obstacle we had to face was their assassin, Yujima Hanzo. He held a title as a 'Silent Rage Killer' by his fighting skill was as silent as the sky. His skill could beat someone in a close range and I really have to protect these two of my friends since they are long range type.

On the other side, seems like maniac queen, the assassin and Raph-chan are ready for the battle. Huh, never see this kind of expression that Raph-chan made. She is actually serious about the match. I think they had already work together for the match. I should also fight Raph-chan seriously to her feelings and not let her down. Looking forward to these Raph-chan, Let's do our best in this match. I also wanted to see how much did she improve since she was taking a lot of battle last month. Luc-chan please pray for me in this battle.

“ Ohmy oh my, is your friend who think he could be Paladin are already for this match ? Look at their status ,oh my oh my too weak right Aurora hhihihihihih" Seren laughed maniacally as she stares towards Lylia from afar.

“I think we should not judge them by their status Lady Seren.” Said Raphtalia.

“Very well, since you're also thought that Lylia must be seriously thinking about this match huh. Hanzo ! Aurora! I want you to fight alongside me as a nanaryu rank gameplay. So, don't you guys ever humiliate me in front of the teacher and our beloved classmate who watch us battle.” Seren smiled cynically from afar.

This is where the battle begins. All the crowds making very noisy noises out there cheering for the battle. Of course this is special battle where the weaklings are monopolized by the stronger in rank position. And I started to mumbling the words that I learned from Luc-chan(watch the opponent's steps, learn the movement, catchup the speed, attack faster...). Back to the field, there's a movement detected from above views. It was the assassin making move run towards us. As I expected, they'll send their close combat teammate to get close to us without any protection. But that's what worry us. Their assassin was faster than the speed of a horse running and charging us. I bring out my swords and stand a pose that protect Layla and Reus-kun. No matter what happens I must protect these two in early game. Seems like from afar, the maniac queen finally taking a move.

"[METEOR SHOWER]!!!"

Wait a minute isn't that voice was Raph-chan's? She begins to pull her bow and launch some shining and glowing flame arrow spell on the sky. While I was busy focus on the assassin who is running and trying to get close to us, Reus-kun chanted his spell. He raised both of his hand towards the sky and steadily chanted. I didn't know what he was doing but what I know is he was trying to protect us. That's what on the plan, each of us plays two roles in a group. Reus will protect us from a long range attack and attack opponent from a long range while Layla will keep an eye to Seren and heal us at the same time increase me and Reus' movement speed. For me, I'll just keep defending these two from being attack by Hanzo in a close range attack then I'll find an opening to get close to the opponent since I am a close range combat type.

" Bestow the power of great One , death come by feelings, never sympathy to those....borrow me the power of creation[ VALHALAC BARRIER]!!!!!!!" that's Reus' magic.

That crazy magic creates a wall was Reus'. It's just like a platinum the biggest wall that protect us from above. The shield has the incentive about 9 inch (ca. 23 centimeters). He must have used too much mana on creating those. It has a big head skeleton symbol on the wall. It looks cool and fierce. How could a cute short boy having such raging power. Oh my gosh, that's cruel god hahahaahaha≥﹏≤The flame arrow that launched by Raph-chan was being barred when the arrow couldn't penetrate Reus' giant wall or I could say it was a mega shield actually. While Layla keep increasing our mana, I carefully face Hanzo since he has arrived in front of us. He was about to get close to us, but he couldn't because I was defending my teammate. On the other side Seren look at us happily and...

“ Let's start the real show now” With her smiling teeth like the devil smiling while screaming.

Something is weird. Why does Seren said to start the real show, doesn't we had started it a minute ago. I quickly take a look at my surrounding and damn....... I forgot that Raph-chan speciality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Raph-chan can use 2 different magic at the same time, but she's also had to use a lot of mana and intensively concentrate on her magic. While I was busy focus on Hanzo who was running towards us , Reus still busy hold his giant wall as the flame arrow didn't stop launched by Raph-chan, and Layla focus on increasing our mana and too much focus to Seren movement. The three of us has been trapped in their hand. This is a very perfect strategy to conquer the enemy on a real battle. We didn't have any hand to protect what in front of us now.

“ whattt???!!!!!” Reus shouted

“Lylia !!!!” Layla shouted panickly.

Hanzo sudden blink in front of me and trying to hit my head with his violent nail as he swing his claw, I take a quick back step as I am trying to avoid but it was a mistake. They literally want me to take a step back. Wolfman Hanzo the assassin purposely make me doing that then he blinks to the right side of our area where Layla was. I'm trying to not letting Hanzo get near to Layla because she's our supporter but after Hanzo blink to the right side just now, Raph-chan already launched an ice arrow towards us. It was a blind spot !!!that's really a complete killer strategy they had. They made me to choose whom I had to save first. At the time, if I save Layla first, Reus will get hit by Raph-chan attack and if I save Reus-kun first, Layla will be the one get knocked out, and we will not have any life support. So we couldn't do anything now? My feet shaking, I know it'll hurts if we got hit by that. You've grown up as a strong hero Raph-chan. With the little courage I had to use my body as sacrifice in order to protect my teammate. Without them none of us will survive. I use my own mana and ...

"[ WHITE RAY]!!!!" That's my countering skill in a short range. So pathetic.

It was swinging a sharp white line that release shining and magic counter as I swing my sword. However, in order to protect those two, I have to receive the damage where my White ray didn't hit. An explosion happened. The noise of the student getting silent. It was too much of blurs sand that covering to what happened in the battlefield. Even the teacher have to stand up and look closer to what's really happening. It's really frustrating, while Raph-chan launched an ice arrow towards us,she releases her other hand that controlling the flame arrow. In short time, she created one more new magic. That's also Reus didn't realize Raph-chan had stopped from launching the flame arrow above us. The other magic was created by Raph-chan was the ice arrow followed by explosion arrow. That's what really happen. As we could see arrow explosion is the cause that explosion happens when it hit something. I was getting hurt and fall down on the underground. Layla hurts a little, but she was thrown away not to far from me at 2o'clock maybe while Reus also blown away but not too far from me or I could say he's just behind me and was suffered from the damage. It was totally a perfect killer strategy they got us. The wolfman just a distraction and crowd controller while Seren order Raph-chan using her magic to attack from a long range. In conclusion, only Raph-chan are the one who's using her magic alone to attack us. Is this the end of us. I was frustrated of their teamwork. I envy their perfect plan. I hate their psycho on us. Is this how Nanaryu rank gameplay huh?

“Wuahahahahaahhhaaha, what are these junks doing on the floor? Did you all not having enough sleep yesterday? Wuahahhahaha” that maniac queen Seren laughed maniacal.

Raph-chan just stay quiet and keep staring at us. Even the wolfman Hanzo the assassin smile a little watching us fall on the ground. The crowd come again as they cheer for Seren's team. Teacher Mica seriously observe the match. And there's a boy standing from afar watching the match. He looks pretty interested of this match. He was our senior, an Eiryu rank. I didn't know what's his name. Anyways, back to the battlefield. Without being order,Layla stands up and heal herself and us. I then get up and regroup again. Seren's group aware that we're getting up already.

"Oh my oh my, ready for second round junks? Wuahhhhhaahhaha" said Seren.

" Stick to the plan guys.” I told Layla and Reus

They nodded as they understand my words. Then, Seren's group make the first counter again. We still stick to the plan where Layla will heal us and increase our mana,Reus keep defending and counter when we had a chance, and myself will keep protect these two while observing the battle.

“Let's survive this until we had a chance!!!” I said to Layla and Reus-kun

“Yes!!!” both of them replied.

But this time I'll make a little difference. Hanzo come again with his speed blink in front of me . Then I take the chances not to avoid this time but to stopped him from moving while Reus-kun casting an attack magic . When Hanzo swing his fierce claws I without doubt hit my sword to his claws and (ATTACK COUNTER). This time I fight with Hanzo nonstop. Seren's face changing quickly. As I attack Hanzo unstoppable they couldn't see or do anything with Hanzo in front of them. Hanzo didn't hesitate to battle with me. As expected from a top five ranking in Goryuu. I won't let them get in the way of our plan. Seren smiled and order Raph-chan again.

“Aurora, attack them from here with a finishing blow” Seren said this to Raph-chan

"Ehh? If I used my finishing blow, Hanzo-san will get hit by my magic too” Raph-chan explain.

“No worry, as long one of our teammate alive, we still can win this match.” Seren showed her evil face while laughing.

“Yes I'll do.”said Raph-chan

Raph-chan kindness makes her think twice because she'll never hit her teammate just to win this match. To her, showing one's strength is the right thing in a battle not to sacrificing a teammate. But however , she had to do so because she can't win over Seren anyways. Raph-chan put both of her hand and starting to chant the finishing blow.

"May what it takes , will get what it wants, seek for glory might.......oh Holy God of War I owe you [ DESTRUCTION QUADRA]!!!!!...I'm sorry Lia"she said that silently

I already know this will happen. But I still did not give up and continue sly hit a thousand of hit to Hanzo as Hanzo can't avoid but have to take the damage little by little. Thanks to Layla, she was the one who increasing my movement in attack. Reus-kun again chant his spell.

"Oh the One, let the end light the dark, let the dead eat the lives......lend us your mighty power behold [ GOLDEN COLLOSEUM]”!!!!

So what's happen here was a 4 dark devil headed dragon was summoned from a spell by Raph-chan, this is her most powerful finishing blow magic ever she reached. She's summoning a beast. She's now using it to attack us here from behind. At the same time, Reus creates a wall that protect us from above, behind and even from sides. It had a gigantic Colosseum golden arena protect us inside from Raph-chan magic. While we're in the golden Colosseum protection , Hanzo stopped for a while and take a look of what happen. He looked tiredly as he breathe hardly and shocked about the situation that he didn't expect he'll also about to get hitted by Raph-chan's magic his teammate. That's out of their plan. A great noise was make from the whole classmate who watch the match and even teacher Mica looks surprise by the attack creates from a Goryu Rank person.

“A summoner??? From a Goryuu rank? This is interesting.” Said teacher Mica while interested to Raph-chan ability.

"Oh my oh my, why such a cutie beholds the power of the darkness here?didn't know a Goryuu rank can chant a summon spell. Wuahahahhahahhah it's getting fun now even an Nanaryuu rank hardly to use it wuahahahha..." Seren talk to herself while happily watching Raph-chan attack.

But what happened next is really horror, Reus magic can't hold any longer. The 4 headed devil dragon was 7 times bigger, strong , and powerful than the Golden Colosseum. The 4 headed devil dragon was really fierce, it breaks colosseum wall easily in just a second by biting it. They had 8 pairs of black wings equips some of the dark platinum parts. The intense of a dragon make the whole fields fear to dead. And here I am shaking my feet again. I feel afraid of my friend's power? What is this feeling. The difference are too far. Now I really doubt about my plan. I wanted to cry. Now the 4 headed dragon roars then attack us merciless. Even Hanzo are being prey of the quadra dragon. Teacher Mica still didn't stop us. This is going crazy, they wanna kill us for real??? We can't do anything but stunned greatly by the Dragon. The dragon attact and attack us roughly and I try to bring Layla and Reus runaway from the dragon. But it seems that Layla and Reus fear too mmuch of it they can't even run faster . Then 4 of us including Hanzo get blown away . BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!

The crowds come again in silence, they try to look carefully of what has happened. Teacher Mica also curious about what's happen to us exactly. So, when the blurry view getting sharp, 4 of us suffered the damage on the ground. None of us stand still and Raph-chan were out of magic, she kneels down tiredly. What the hell with Raph-chan's power? She's so strong...feel like I was going to die from the explosion again. This time Layla and Reus almost can't get up. Hanzo was completely faint. That's really a brutal way to finish the opponent I can say. I was disappointed falling down on the ground suffered the damage taken and can't even move a muscle.
